@everyone
thanks so much for the opinions!!
many of you said the colors looked nice,
thank you! ironically im wearing a coral
shirt with camo green shorts and grey
leggings and it all matches those colors!

@byakkomaru
i personally think your current signature
is very simplistic and really pretty!!
as for advice, sadly im just a novice
(or at least consider myself one) and
dont have much advice :<
edit: i forgot a bio, ill be sure to add
one in my fall/halloween signature!

@freshcookies
i use google chrome and your sig
fits perfectly on my screen, do you
have a small computer?

edit: speaking of fall/halloween, when are
you all going to start coding a seasonal
signature?

@Ocean Plumeria @Jodjo
Hmm... maybe? I'm currently on a library computer, so I guess its space is smaller? Well, if it fits on you guys' computers, then that's at least a relief.

I might make a seasonal sig... I've been thinking about making a new one anyways, so I could try out a fall theme.

@ byakko
It looks perfectly fine to me, though I would suggest bumping the crown over a little using transparent characters to center it a little better & possibly cracking open your image editor of choice and getting rid of that crusty white artifacting that comes with... fontmeme, right? You could do it the old fashioned way & just erase it or do what I do (using Photoshop, though I believe GIMP has the appropriate tools as well):
    -change image mode to RGB or CMYK
    -new layer on top
    -cover the whole layer in your chosen color
    -right click -> create clipping mask
    -adjust opacity until the lines don't look quite as hard anymore; it takes some eyeballing, you might want to fill in the layer behind your dingbat with the CS background color to help
    -save as .png, not .gif
x
I came out with this using a 43% opacity mask, which still looks a little worse for wear on imgur's black background
since the "crust" was really just colored light yellow, but blends right in with CS' cream forum background.
Image
This really works for anything you get, though you can circumvent this entire mess by using a worthwhile fontsite like 1001fonts that doesn't export their previews/fonts as .gif, or just downloading them yourself from places like dafont and making your own font images in GIMP/Photoshop/any other editor that allows transparency

On the less negative side, like I said, it looks pretty neat; I always have been a sucker for closed-off signatures & I commend the fact that you bothered to color the links so that the bright blue of a clicked one doesn't completely ruin the palette, aha... Oh, and the fact that it doesn't sacrifice ever-important readability for aesthetics. At risk of offending people that tend to do that, I never have been fond of signatures that have to be read column by column. As for quality of smaller images, Photoshop CS5 has never given be problems with quality of any type of resizing or gif creation, but you also have to be willing to part with either your money or your morality, wink wink nudge nudge. Take that as you will.

@ cookies
For what it's worth I've never had issues with your signature and I've been using a 1360x768 monitor with Google Chrome on Windows 7 for way longer than you've had it, lolol. It's probably just the screen res, and if not that then the way the computer displays unicode. Those big blocks never seem to look the same on every person's monitor.

    > when are you all going to start coding a seasonal signature? [ jodjo ]
I think I said it in the Discord already but uh. Probably mid to late October. I don't do fall signatures because I really don't care for the [[comfy]] autumn aesthetic that entails stock photos of leaves and pumpkin spice lattes, but Halloween usually spurs me into action (especially since VOCALOID producers start making spooky stuff around that time and utaites start covering stuff too). Plus I love horror even though I'm a Pansy™

    hello, may i have some critiques on my coding shop? i've tried to make it fit on both chrome and firefox, but may i have some screenshots on it just to be sure?
    and ye i know it's shared, but my coding partner-in-crime .kaede is currently busy and won't be able to join me until next week

    @new members welcome to hell

    @parabatai. i love the color scheme of your sig! i'm a huge fan of pastelly-muted colors and such. the overlay you did on the image on the left is very creative and eye-catching ;v; the one thing that bothers me about it, though is the big space left over at the left. maybe bump the sig to the right for a bit?

    @thank it's a very simple signature with a very nice color scheme~ i like how it made use of images and unicode symbols while it being able to be mobile-friendly

    @kae i love the gifs you used and the way you formatted the quote. the text is a bit too small though ;v;

    @cherry it's a nice sig! though the pics are a bit lossy, that's a little nitpick on my part. i like how it's not cluttered and all that ;v;

    @jodjo very nice! i love it. you made really awesome use of dingbats and unicode symbols, and the colors go strangely well together?? though i misread the 'do' part of the sig as 'da' pfft
    also i rarely ever code seasonal sigs/avatars :^) it's too much work aaa

    @kaplantai i love the minimalistic theme of your sig. very nice! the gray and pink goes well together, though the border at the far right is being pushed down ;v;

    @byakkomaru
    I think it looks lovely! It could possibly dog or more of a color scheme, but I still think the colors work together really well. One idea I just came up with is to replace one of the parentheses with the crown flipped 90 degrees in either direction. Personally, I think it would look neat, but it's dealer's choice. c:
    Also, for finding images of good quality that are smaller, one method I use is based off of this tutorial I just posted on imgur. Once you find the image that is closest in size to the size you want, you simply save and edit that one to your needs (so long as it is still of good quality; I sometimes have a hard time finding good quality images this way). Just a little something I picked up on. c:

    @salty potato
    Oh, that looks incredible! It doesn't fit on my school computer (Safari on a Mac), but I'll definitely give a few comments when I get on my personal computer later!

      @cookies
      i'm on chrome and your signature fits fine for me.
      looks lovely, too. i love the colors!

      @yaku
      hahah..hah... yeah, i am like ten thousand percent
      terrible at anything involving images or image editing.
      i have gimp so i'll try that out. i'm not very good at
      using it should probs look at a tutorial.
      i agree completely with you on readability versus
      aesthetics. i used to code like that and eventually
      found that i literally couldn't even follow the quote in
      my own signatures.
      and i'll look into a new provider for fonts. i use myfonts
      and it's all i've used since veer shut down.

      @salty potato
      wow, it looks awesome! i love the colorscheme, and
      theme, of course, and the coding is great!

      @parabatai
      i'll take a look at the tutorial, and the crown idea isn't
      a bad one, actually i quite like the thought of it and
      may try it sometime, but i was going for the crown being
      really unique and making it stand out, which is why it's
      the only dingbat and the only thing that's gold.

      when are you all going to start coding a seasonal signature?
      i have not made a seasonal signature since i actually first
      started coding that was a while ago it used to be my thing,
      i would make a signature and keep if for all of that season
      but then i got bored of it. i usually do make a halloween
      or thanksgiving signature or both, spooks and food, but
      that's about it

    @Cherry Blossoms!
    I think your signature looks very nice! I really enjoy the variety in border styles, and all of your text boxes look wonderful! My one main critique, though, is that the GIFs seem a little lossy (particularly the big one on the left), but it still looks good! A very nice signature!

    @salty potatoes
    Ok, I finally got onto my personal computer and am able to take a look at your thread. I think it looks really nice! the pops of color really accentuate certain parts of the posts. I like the unframed text for the rules, it's pretty cool. The grayscale images (from a manga, I presume) looks really nice as well! Mangas are one of my favorite sources for images, and I think you worked with that kind of source really well! You kept things simple-ish, and it all works together. I am in love with the zig-zagging of your examples in the forms post. It's a creative way to shake things up a bit. However, I do think it looks a tad bit empty where you have the code boxed for your forms, but it still looks good. Here are some screenshots of the posts. I am using chrome on a windows platform.
