“And I, I can't run away from myself, like yesterday…and I, I'll change my ways, someday…someday soon” Sierra’s enchanting voice easily sang the words to the Howling Bells song as the lyrics rang through her head. Sat upon the sand-dusted dock of the beach house where her parents had oh-so-kindly dumped her; leaving her with all the money she could ever need…as if it would make up for their absence. Her fingers moving quickly to pluck the strings of the glossy black guitar held tenderly in her grip. Keeping to a steady tune that complimented the rhythm of the song and her voice.

As soon as Sam walked through the door of her new home, she let the horribly heavy bag fall to the floor, shaking her hand in pain and looking around. Well, it definitely looked gorgeous. Half-dead, she dragged her awful luggage to her bedroom, flopping down on the bed as soon as she could. Why did her parents insist on putting all her stuff in one suitcase? It probably weighed a ton now, thanks to their wonderful organisation and packing skills. At least her guitar was alright. Sam smiled at the thought of her most precious possesion and best memory from home. Deciding not to stay here and act like a couch potato, she stood up, testing her hand to see if it still worked after carrying that horrible bag. It did, fortunately. Realising that she was perfectly fine, alive and not dreaming, Sam started noticing what the room looked like. A huge bed made of sand coloured wood was the main attraction of the bedroom, with its sky blue duvet and snowy white pillows. The walls were creamy white, a perfect colour for the place where she would be sleeping. Slowly, Sam made her way around the whole house, noticing that the whole building was kept in white, blue and a few cream tones. There was a computer on the desk in the living room, a TV on the wall, a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen and a closet full of new clothes for her, presumably picked out by her parents. Realising that this was all just a bit too much for her, Samantha walked out of the house and sat down on one of the steps leading down to the beach, trying to collect her thoughts after everything that had happened.

Ty grabbed a granola bar that lay on the blank marble counter. Chewing it, she heard a crisp clear voice singing. It was beautiful. She could never sing so well. So there are people at this beach. Not only me. Ty walked out of the house and took off her flip-flops. She loved the sand going through the spaces between her toes. Ty didn't know where the singing was coming from, but she just stayed and listened. Ty cocked her head to the house besides hers. A girl was sitting on the footstep that led down to the beach and up to the house. Ty decided that it didn't hurt just to say 'hello'. "Hello!" Ty said cheerfully. She smiled slightly. Her brown hair fluttered into her face.

Sierra continued to sing softly until she reached the end of the song; strumming a few last notes and allowing the guitar to fade out from then. Her blue-green gaze flickering in the opposite direction as another voice entered the mix. "Hey!" she called back, her eyes still searching for exactly who had spoken to her, and quickly spotting the dark-haired girl that stood in the neighboring lawn. A bit relieved to see that it was someone around her age, maybe a few years younger..but still, it was someone to hang out with. "I'm Sierra." she greeted.

Xavier stood out at the shoreline, his faded skinny jeans rolled up as the waves lapped eagerly at his ankles. His feet feeling like they were sinking a bit more each time the tide pulled a good amount of sand back with it into the ocean. He carefully ran a hand through his hair as he stared out at the horizon, the sky and water seeming to merge together the further he looked out.

Alek stepped off of the small speedboat and onto the old wooden dock. Turning back to the boat, he pulled his two duffel bags onto his shoulder. He then nodded a goodbye to the driver and began walking off of the dock. Aleksander looked up and down the beach, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the light breeze blow past him. Stepping off the dock and onto the sand, he began trudging his high-tops through the shifting ground beneath his feet. Shoving a hand into one of his back pockets, he pulled out the paper containing a picture of the house his parents had chosen for him. The appearance of the house in the picture seemed quite nice. The outside siding was a hue of pale green and some white accenting on the windows and doors. The roof was covered in dark grey shingles that completed the look of the house quite well. Although the house didn't seem to large, Alek didn't mind; he hadn't planned on the place being all that large anyway. He shifted the bags on his shoulder and then folded the paper and put it back inside his pocket. Alek than looked up at the other houses, seeing that there were other people here reassured him that he wouldn’t be all alone on this island. He then began wandering down one side of the beach, looking for the house he was going to be staying in. As he walked across the sand, he was soon scoping out places that would be good to take pictures of. He took the vintage camera in his hands, which had been hanging around his neck and Alek looked through the optical viewfinder on the camera to make sure the shot was good. He then snapped a few pictures of the light colored sand, bright blue sea, and a few tropical trees. Letting the camera fall back around his neck, he began feeling a small smile form on his face. The place seemed pretty nice and he definitely didn't mind getting away from the small town he had lived in. He then began wondering what the people here were like and how this "adventure", as his mother had called it, would play out.

First, Sam noticed two girls a few hundred metres away from her. She stood up, intending to walk over to them and introduce herself, and bumped into a boy about her cage with a camera around his neck. She managed to keep her balance for a few seconds, but tripped over a half-hidden rock in the end. She fell to the ground, finally noticing who she hit when she ended up on her back. She quickly sat up, not waiting for the boy to help her, and looked at him, her eyes sparkling laughingly. She wasn't the slightest bit worried about hurting herself because of the fall, since she had two older brothers who both used to teach her how to play football, usually abusing the fact that she was smaller and weaker than them. After a few years of having bruises and cuts all over her body, she got used to it. Now she laughed out loud and stood up, still in a good mood. "Sam Averill." she offered the boy her name, brushing the sand off her hand using her jeans and extending it for him to shake.

Alek stumbled backwards when a girl had suddenly ran into him. He hadn't even seen her coming. It was a bit difficult for him to catch his balance in the shifting sand, but he finally managed. His hands instinctively took hold of his camera, afraid it could be broken. He quickly looked it over and saw no obvious damage. Letting it fall back against his chest, he looked at the girl who had walked into him. Aleksander watched for a moment as she pulled herself up. He felt a small smile grow on his face once he heard her laughing. Watching as she extended her hand and told him her name, he looked her over a moment. He was trying to analyze her, he did this a lot to those he wasn't familiar with. Finally taking her outstretched hand and shaking it for a moment he began to laugh a bit as well. "I'm... I'm Aleksander Allis." he finally stated to Sam. Letting go over her hand, he then let his own drop to his side. Shifting his weight a bit and moving the bags on his shoulder, Alek continued analyzing her. Sam seemed quite normal to him, but not very girlie. She was dressed nicely and had a sort of good vibe about her. Alek nodded a bit in approval and soon put his hands into his pockets. Eventually averting his eyes, Aleksander looked across the beach at some of the other people. He had never been a conversational kind of person, especially when he was meeting new people. "It's nice to meet you, Sam. Are you alright?" he then asked, feeling a bit rude for not asking a bit sooner.
