Arrow called the clan back as she saw the hunting patrol filling back into camp.
"Cats of Hyenaclan, I have an announcement." She called, watching as Bone came over straight away and the other two simply trotted over. "I'll be putting out who the mates are today, I believe I've already mentioned the set mates already." She told them, puffing out her chest as if daring one of them to question it.
"Every female who is strong must have a mate, so I'll be taking on Bone while Magick and Crow will be mates." She announced, noting as Bone looked awe-struck. She flicked her tail at the tom, as if to tell him to calm it. "Remember, you are to have no kits until you're twenty moons, I don't need to have any she-cats dying in birth because they were too young." She added, yet already wanted kits of her own. She knew she would have to wait a moon, but she was already eager.
The leader watched as Crow and Magick went on over to talk, supposedly, so she made her way to Bone.
"So, are you happy with being my mate...? The black and white tom questioned, seemingly nervous.
"It's no issue with me, you're strong and smart." Arrow told him. "You'll make good kits."
The words seemed to calm the worried tom. She knew he would have a little too much attachment to the kits that they had, but she herself would as well. However, she shook these thoughts away. Fidgetspice had told her right, attachment meant nothing unless you were strong enough to protect them.

Arrow glared at the dark grey cat sitting across from her. The dark grey cat stared back at her, tilting their head as a sort of challenge. A small smirk threatened to tug at the edges of Arrow's mouth. She liked this cat's stubborn and cocky nature,
she liked that the cat seemed to be challenging her.

The dark tabby got to her paws and turned to head back to camp. "You coming?" Arrow questioned. The dark grey smirked and got to it's paws, trotting after the Hyenaclan leader. ( I just really liked the idea of Arrow having a potential deputy that challenges her :D )

Arrow took a deep breath, going up to the older Bone. "Hey! You! You have to, uh... Come with me. Now." She ordered, keeping all seriousness even though she was nervous.
Bone, on the other hand, seemed pretty happy. 'You dirty tom.'

Blue looked over at the she-cat he was hunting with. 'I was able to take charge here real easily...' He thought. 'Odd.'
"So, what makes you think you're worth being a deputy here?" The tortoiseshell she-cat questioned him, obviously annoyed with his presence.
"Well, because I'm better than you." He said, seeing her spiteful reaction as he back-petaled. "Kidding, Magick. calm a little. I just thought the clan could need a more balanced out leadership." He commented.
Magick gave the tom a look, as if everything he was saying was just weird. "You know, Arrow sees no point in emotional attachment or mercy with others, I thought having me as a deputy would break down that a little so she isn't that spiteful to the cats of this clan, only outsiders." He added, to clear up some confusion with her.
"I guess I can get that..." The she-cat mumbled, both of them staying silent for the patrol.

Bone and Crow watched the young tabby chasing a moth. "The cat seems young." Crow mewed. "Are you sure Arrow wound want such a young cat in the Clan?" Bone wrinkled his nose slightly before looking at Crow from the corner of his eyes.

"The Clan needs to survive, to survive we need more members." Bone mewed before rising to his paws. "Let's go." He mewed to the black tom. Crow rolled his eyes and hurried after the black and white tom. Upon seeing the Clan cats, the young tabby stopped chasing the moth, it's eyes widening in shock and fear. "We aren't going to hurt you." Bone informed him. "There is a group of us living nearby, you are welcome to join us if you wish."

Without saying another word, Bone turned and stalked back towards camp, Crow close behind. The tabby stood there for a moment before hurrying after them.

[ Arrow is now expecting kits! They are due in two moons ]

Bone felt exhausted, he had stayed up late the other night with Arrow, attempting to calm his mate as she had one of her stress-educed fits. He knew stress got to her easily, but she swore to her that he would never say anything to Blue or anyone in the clan.
"You can stay in camp with me, I'm going to need help rearranging some nests and dens so we'll have room for strong kits!" She offered, pride dripping from her even though their kits weren't even born yet.
Bone yawned, but nodded and gave the she-cat a small lick of her ear. "That'll be good." He told her. Arrow had been moody as can be since she became pregnant and he didn't exactly know why. From his own experience, she-cats would get more calm when they were pregnant. He just hoped that she would calm down once she gave birth and had her kittens.

MILK

Bone watched as a new cat, named Milk, came into the camp. Blue explained that she knew how to assist birthing, so she could be the healer. He could tell Arrow as a little irritated that they now had a cat who wasn't going to contribute prey.
"It'll be fine, dear, she's going to at least make sure our kits make it through any weather." He reassured, smiling at her contently. This seemed to calm his mate.
"Bone, you're called to patrol borders this time, the rest of us are going hunting." He told the clan, going with his hunting group.

Bone edged the border on his patrol, then so he could smell the death in the air. As he followed the scent into another clan's territory, he could smell the familiarity of it. 'Owldust, that idiotic, yet beautiful queen...' He thought, smelling the birth fluids. "Something to investigate." He remarked cleverly.
He knew which direction the kits were, so he sniffed around for some fox dung. Ignoring the awful stench, he rolled around in it to mask his own clan scent, he wasn't in the business for starting a battle between Hyenaclan and Briarclan.
The tom came up upon a camp, spotting the nursery den. With little to no cats around, he snuck straight into the den.
Bone looked down at the small, weak bodies of the kits. Two of them look just like the beauty. "These cats have no idea how to raise the strong and smart... You might end up with mistakes, like Owldust..." He mumbled to the three sleeping kits, more of him thinking out loud.
His instincts kicked in as he heard a cat nearing the nursery, so he simply snatched up one of the tom-kits, sprinting away silently from the den.

Arrow still had some pain numbing her, but she simply ignored that. As she looked down at her own litter of kits, her own children, she was simply ignoring anything bad coming her way. She was about to tell Milk to leave when Bone pushed his way through a hole in the back of the nursery.
"Arrow, I can explain this..." He said to her, air huffing out of him.
"What do you mea-" When she saw a kit dangling from her mouth, she understood what he meant. "Where did that come from!" She demanded. The kit almost looked just like him, did he cheat on her??
"I took it from another clan, they are incompetent and this kit deserves better." Was all he explained. He set the kit down next to her own, which were about the same age. "Just say he's your kit, he looks enough like me that it's believable." He pleaded.
As she looked at the kit with her own, she already hated it. Yet, the look in Bone's eyes made her agree. "Fine." She hissed, turning her head over to Milk. "This stays between us." She warned, but enjoyed the response she was given.
"My duty here is to serve you first. If you wish for me to keep quiet, I will do so." The other she-cat told her, dipping her head.

Magick looked at the five kits, smiling. "They're just so cute!" She exclaimed, wishing she was twenty moons already so she could have her own. However, rules were rules.
"Yeah, let's just hope they're all great warriors." She commented, eyeing the biggest one, Dust.
"He'll be fine, Arrow, look at him! He's huge." She told the leader. "You worry too much."
Dust popped up, his legs still a little shaky. "Yeah, mother, I'll be great! I promise!" The little tom exclaimed, making Magick not be able to hold back a huge 'awwwwwwe'.
Arrow seemed as if she was about to say something, but Milk came on in. "Time for a check-up." She told them, looking over each kit carefully.
As she examined Hawk, she took some extra time. "Hawk, stand up for me." Milk ordered the kit, the little she-cat doing as she's told. "Why don't you take a walk outside the den and find your father for me?" She asked.
"Okay!" She exclaimed, her feet gingerly walking towards the other side of the den, way away from the open mouth of the nursery.
"Just what I thought..." Milk mumbled quietly. "Magick, stay here with the kits, I need to have a talk with Arrow."She told her, Magick nodding. 'Poor Hawk... She doesn't even seem to know!'

"She's blind, Arrow. That's the only explanation." Milk told her, yet Arrow couldn't quite believe it.
"But how! How my kit?" She questioned, almost toppling over crying.
"I can only say that life isn't fair, Arrow, she's blind and nothing I can do will fix it, sadly..." The healer informed.
Arrow laid down in one of the nests for sick cats, tears running down her face. "I have to abandon my own kit after she trains..." She cried, shaking.
"Arrow, you don't have to! She may not be able to become a warrior, but she could train with... Well, I could teach her to be a healer with me." Milk offered, giving Arrow a little hope.
"Well... With the clan growing as it is, it would help quite a bit to have a trainee with you..." Arrow said, smiling weakly, yet she also was still disappointed not to have all her kits strong. 'That wretched Owldust has her kit big and strong, now I take care of him, but my own is weak...'
"Go back to your kits, we'll wait telling Hawk her situation until she's an apprentice, she should enjoy being a kit now while she can." Milk ordered, sending the leader on her way.
