If they want it bad enough they can buy a rename scroll, those are cheap enough

Renaming scrolls are pretty cheap, though.
If they want to give the dragon a different name, means exist to do so.

There's also the point of not selling from your favourite pairs that low.

Not sure how familiar you are with dom pushes, but the price for fodder is actually quite high right now due to the battle between Shadow and Arcane. I'm not sure why someone in Lightning exalted it, but regardless, they might've just wanted treasure. I was in Lightning and everyone was gem-rich and treasure-poor after the festival.

Renamed scrolls aren't terribly expensive, play a few puzzles in the fairgrounds and you can afford one. I understand your frustration, but if you named them then you'd save yourself the frustration! But hey, that's just my opinion. Hope it doesn't happen again.

They could have found its related to a dragon they wanted to breed it with. Rather then reselling exalting is a quicker way

I honestly do this all the time. I'll pick up dragons that I hope to breed and sometimes I forget to check, sometimes the game is wrong, and sometimes I just find a better match to what I'm looking for.

I am perfectly fine with that, you do you, I just don't understand why they couldn't have just typed in a word before exalting, you know? I only even sold him that low because I really needed the space but didn't want him exalted. Again, it's not my place to say "don't exalt" but i just feel they could have typed in one word

okay I hate messy dragons but I saw this dude in the arcane AH, and he was 13kt. Somebody bought him while I was selling stuff for him real quick- probably for exalt fodder, but I offered to buy him for more than he was (which normally I n e v e r do, but I knew he was probably fodder) and they sent over a private AH listing for me ; ----- ; thank thank I luv the chaotic kiddo
I may turn him to a fae or guardian or mirror but not 100%
