With bags beneath the eyes, I weep for a better change in a living pattern. Day in and day out, the ticking of the everlasting clock counts down the mere moments of bare daylight left within the northern hemisphere of the Earth.”


The lonesome kalon leaned back in their chair, sighing a rather heavy sigh while throwing their only writing utensil upon the ground. It seemed as if the world around him slowed to the beating of their own heart. The lamplight illuminating from the desk nearly flickered for what was only a second, but it felt like eternity. Byron glared towards the few pages left upon his desk, blank from lack of inspiration and weeks of neglect. The fire of creation that once burned brightly within his mind had slowly began to dim as time progressed.
Project, after project ending in complete failure, Byron was beginning to lose not only his job as an author, but his sanity as well. The kalon brought his slim paw to his face, starting to rub his temples in a circular motion in order to tame the frustration within.
“Oh what’s the point anymore?” He said in defeat. He ran his claws through his hair. “Was I really meant for this job” He pondered in the silence, having the silent ticks being the only source of accompaniment to his thoughts. He closed his eyes taking in the surroundings trying to take his mind elsewhere yet the ticking disturbed him. tick tock. Once again, nothing. In a fit of anger he rose to his feet, sliding an arm across the table, knocking off all its contents. As he left the room, the ink from the bottle slowly began to drip one by one mimicking the agonizing sound of time. drip drop tick tock tick…
