blind oracle from the far north. to be perfectly honest, he can see just fine!! the name kind of stuck just because of the blindfold and all. most people have never seen him take it off ever. he probably even wears it in the shower. or even... to bed? a lot of people ask him why the heck he keeps that thing on — like, isn't it inconvenient or something????

no, uh, not really. see, belial's eyesight is amazing. in fact, it's so good he can see multiple realities happening at the same time. images of events across different timelines are overlayed on top of eachother, and it's extremely confusing. if you've ever tried to listen to 10 songs at once, you'd kinda understand what life is like for belial. it's very annoying and the overstimulation gives him major headaches. he'd rather not deal with that!! so, hence the blindfold.

to be fair, he can still see through it — it's not just plain ol' cloth or whatever. it's woven from 50% nylon 50% polyester i mean the fabric of reality nah jk too edgy a special cloth sown and enchanted by a certain boneseer. she also took the time to stitch his name on the back free of charge, which was very nice of her.

the blindfold works kind of like noise-cancelling headphones. it removes unnecessary stimuli from belial's field of vision, and, yes, he can see through them. with them on, he can perceive just one reality: the present one he's in. take them off, and he's back to seeing like 10 timelines at once. so, naturally, when he makes predictions, he has to take these 10 or so realities and try to decipher which ones are from the future, the past, and pluck information from what he observes to make the most accurate prediction. it's really more of an art than a science, and, uh... it's very improvisational. he has a lot of work cut out for him.

He was brought into a world that wasn't meant to be his in the
start. He was created as an experiment to see if the devil could
be artificially made. In other words, experiment 111 (aka Liu)
was made to be "bad". Liu was made & used as a secret military
war weapon. Experiment 111 could cause immense pain & damange
anyone who meets his gaze. At first, the government's creation
seemed successful, but no one expected experiment 111 to
develop emotions & become "defective". Since then, Liu wears
a blindfold out of guilt for what he has done for others during the
war & also for the safety of others.

No one is sure what Liu did during his time in the military, but
it is rumored he was the only reason his hopeless country was
able to push back the evading country after so many years.

why they wearing a blindfold?: quite simply, they can see dead people. This sense is strange though, considering that Travis can't interact with any of the dead aside from being able to see them. This is where the blindfold comes in. Since he was very young and started seeing spirits he had trained to go about his day with his eyes closed, as many of the dead were very frightening to a you child. He had grown less afraid the more he got used to being able to see them, but now he just wears the blindfold to keep him in reality where his existence matters.

As a child, [name] was a color addict. He would color anything he could whenever he got his hands on crayons or markers; walls, papers, his parent's faces, anything. Eventually, something happened (maybe add reason here//surgery?) and he has gone colorblind ever since this has happened. He can't stand not being able to see color, and he'd rather not see anything than not see color. After being stuck seeing darkness for years and years, this affected his mental- and physical- state. The Devil has seen his distress and "felt sympathy" for him, visiting him in [his dreams? his nightmares? his corrupted mind?]. He had offered [name] to be able to see such vivid color like he had never seen before, that he wouldn't have to hide from the world anymore. IF... he gave him [item?]. Of course, [name] agreed, but he had been cheated out of his deal. He was left without [item], and the Devil practically now owned him. His skin eventually faded to gray, and he had grown demon horns, a tail, and long, [adjective lol i have a small vocabulary] ears. The Devil was always possessing him now, making him cry black [liquid?].

why they wearing a blindfold?: dainton is a rather...clueless little demon. he's very gullible and has the folly of putting his trust in anyone who he deems as his friend, which does not take very much. with the promise of a surprise, one of his buddies tied a black blindfold around his eyes and told him to wait, claiming that she would be right back. the poor demon is still waiting, anxious and excited to finally figure out what his prize was. he will probably never figure out that he had been fooled, instead assuming that his friend had gotten caught up elsewhere.
