the leader looked tired this gathering - heavy paws trudging in. with the kits and the flooding of rivers, briarstar had much to handle that evening. though, she knew she and loststar had business to handle. renewing herself, the leader took quick, but graceful strides in the fray, slipping between cats of all clans. her deputy and rookie warrior not too far behind. "i can't believe this..." grumbles smokestep, rolling his eyes. "why me? we have ravenpounce now and -" the leader shushes him. "you made your own bed, now lie in it." she answered, padding up to loststar. "loststar, greetings." said briarstar warmly.

smokestep trailed behind his leader indignantly, lashing his tail in annoyance. he shouldn't have agreed to this - but there's not much he could do about it now. he stops little ways behind briarstar, looking burningclaw in the eye.

ravenpounce bounced along a small smile on his face. of course, this was all part of his front - he needed to gather intel regularly for loststar. he couldn't believe how gullible briarstar was.

Another moon, another Gathering, another nervous sensation running down Mintstar's spine. The stocky PineClan leader lead her own down to the Gathering's clearing, the tip of her gray tail twitching involuntarily as she tried to collect her bearings before assembling with the other leaders yet again. Once PineClan stopped at the ridge, she took a long inhale before signaling with her tail for everyone to join the other Clans who could be seen so far. Mintstar waited until every last of her cats left before making her way to where the leaders were and sat at her usual spot, hiding her nerves by licking at her chest fur.

loststar walked slowly, his wounds still tender from the rats. wolfstrike had yowled at him until he wanted to claw his ears off, but he had to come tonight. he had to check in with ravenpounce, and make sure that their alliance would still hold strong. he flicked his tail and wolfstrike walked away, silvermask following behind him. medicine cats were very valuable, and he wanted an escourt with him at all times. he motioned for burningclaw to follow him and walked towards briarstar, his head high. "greetings briarstar, smokestep. whose this?" he asked about the black tom, knowing full well who he was.

burningclaw looked at the dawnclan cats and whispered into thistlepaws ear, "just hush and listen. you might learn something." she purred and walked forwards to smokestep, her eyes gleaming in the moonlight. "hey stranger." she said.

silvermask followed wolfstrike, but her eyes were on loststar. when he had risked his life to save thistlepaw, something akin to bile had churned in her stomach. sure, it was great that the Dark Forest had given him nine lives, but why? she didn't understand, and she was going to find out.

wolfstrike / tom / medicine cat / tagged : open

wolfstrike huffed, sitting down with his tail wrapped around his paws. his muzzle had a deep scowl. he was looking at loststar as well, although not for the same reasons as silvermask. the tom would re-open his wounds if he wasn't careful, and what use would he be then? his tail lashed angrily.

thistlepaw just watched with wide eyes, trying to remember everything. the leader was...branchstar, maybe? something like that. the tom next to her was smokestep, she knew that. there was something off about the black tom though, something hiding in his eyes. she wanted to leave, let them talk about the boring things, but burningclaw told her to stay. so she stayed.

she turned to ravenpounce, who dipped his head in respect. "this is ravenpounce - a rookie warrior. he was found a few days ago, he said he was blamed for a crime he didn't commit and was exiled." the pity was evident in her voice, while the young tom ducked his head sheepishly. "how has lostclan been?" she asked, sitting down and wrapping her tail around her paws.

smokestep broke out into a smirk, padding closer to the she-cat. "hey there, how've you been?" he purred, eyes glinting. they flickered over to the apprentice, and he cocked an eyebrow. "woah, woah, woah, baby! who got to you before me?" he joked, eyeing the apprentice in question.

he dipped his head to loststar, smiling not wavering. there wasn't much to report on that night, except for kits and excessive flooding.
he fell back, waiting for his moment to confer with loststar.

loststar hummed in response, his eyes turning to wolfstrike. "we have been blessed with a medicine cat, and an apprentice." he flicked his tail to point to thistlepaw, who instantly sat up and her ears perked. "had to fight a nasty pack of rats to rescue her, but all is well now, and they are no more than corpses." he stated calmly, ignoring the burning of his barely healed wounds. "onto business, if burningclaw has an even number of kits, we shall split them equally. if she has an odd number, we shall keep the majority, seeing as though she carried them. does this seem fair to you?" he asked.

burningclaw laughed, genuinely amused at the toms words. "this is my apprentice, thistlepaw. a feisty little thing, much like our kits will be." she said, licking her paw and running it over her ear. "i don't exactly care for small talk, so should we find somewhere more quiet?" she asked coyly.

thistlepaw heard loststar mention her and sat up straight, her ears perked up. she would never forget his face as he fought tooth and nail, a snarl on his muzzle even as he took his last breath. to see him walking around again...it was amazing for the molly, almost as if she was in the presence of the Dark Forest itself.

Mousestar led his cats into the clearing and looked around "Huh, very few are here yet." He sat down next to Badgerstar. "Greetings."

Nightglow sat where the deputies would sit.

Lily went straight to where the med cats sat.

briarstar nodded, watching smokestep from the corner of her eye. "that's alright with me." she answers, coolly, ignoring that he jumped around the pleasntries. "anything else you might need to know?"

smokestep chuckled, and sauntered off into some bushes, beckoning burningclaw with his tail. "follow me then." he piped from the brush.

➜ The black tom's ears perked up as he heard a voice speaking to him. He swiveled to face Mousestar with a friendly purr, his tail swishing happily. "Hello!" He mewed back. "My name is Badgerstar, and I'm the leader of Groveclan. Who are you?" The strange tom seemed friendly enough so far, unlike the gathering of cats that made his skin prickle. One of the toms had a set of fresh scars, which made Badgerstar glance at his own healed-over scars instinctively. He didn't like the vibe of those cats, and decided he would try to stay away from them.

[ GOLDLEAF - 44 moons - she - medcat - open ]
➜ Goldleaf watched the young leader bound off with a shake of her head. She shared a glance with Lionheart, before chuckling and ducking her head away. It had been a while since she'd been to a gathering, but she was familiar with the process. She nodded goodbye to her clanmates, padding toward the area where medicine cats seemed to be gathering, interested to see what the other medicine cats of the area were like.

➜ As she approached the gathering, Lionheart could feel the nerves starting up again. She bounded forward and nudged Badgerstar. "Just... remember to be careful," she said quietly, "we still don't know many other leaders, and we probably don't want to make any enemies." Badgerstar's reply made her sigh, and she shared a look with Goldleaf, before the clan split off. Lionheart weaved through the crowd, before her eyes fell on a familiar dark tabby pelt. With a smile, she made her way toward Beestripe. She approached her from behind, and gently nudged her flank with her shoulder. "That time was on purpose," she said, "how've you been, Beestripe? It's good to see you again, and Squirrelstar too."

[ FLINTBURR - 58 moons - tom - warrior - looking for silvermoon/kits ]
➜ As the clan split off, Flintburr immediately began to wander through cats, looking for former Obsidianclan warriors. Maybe one of them knew what had happened to his mate and kits. He had no news of Silvermoon or either of his kits, Sootkit and Halfkit. He hoped they were okay, wherever they were, but it would be better for him to be able to see them, or know for certain from a former clanmate that they were okay.

[ MAPLEFALL - 18 moons - she - warrior - open ]
➜ Maplefall decided to stay with Flowerpaw, making sure the smaller she-cat could keep up. It was their first time at a gathering after all, and Maplefall had never seen so many cats in one place at once. Her tail lifted in glee as she looked around at all the other cats. She wondered if any of them were near her age, or if they were older like Lionheart and Flintburr. She looked around for someone that she could make friends with.

[ FLOWERPAW - 9 moons - she - apprentice - open ]
➜ Flowerpaw stuck to Maplefall's side, tightly. There's so many cats... she thought to herself, stomach flip-flopping nervously. Under Lionheart's mentorship, she'd developed more confidence, but it was scary being in a new place with not that many cats she knew. A part of her wished she was still at camp, with the other two apprentices, even if they were quite a decent bit younger than her and didn't make for very good conversation. Crouched next to the calico, the small ginger glanced around at the other cats, looking for anyone who looked remotely how she felt.

loststar paused, his tail twitching. they were allies now, so he opened his mouth again. "the waters seem to be decreasing, which is good for us. but greenleaf is coming. two-legs will bring their dogs. before i had created lostclan, there seemed to be at least three two-legs coming into these forests every half-moon. just a warning, from one ally to another." he said politely. he didn't want dawnclan wiped out if they weren't prepared.

burningclaw followed the tom, a spring in her step. she was going to become a mother, for better or for worse.

silvermask flicked her ear and turned to the voice, noticing two toms speaking to her. "ah, hello. silvermask. i'm from lostclan. where are you from?" she asked politely, but keeping her eyes on wolfstrike. she didn't trust the tom to not fight someone.
