The sound of crying swept along the current and Polaris started swimming again, following the direction do the sobs. The rocks grew more dense and jagged. Polaris winced as a strands of kelp whipped his legs. He came across the scene earlier than he meant to. A girl was sobbing over a very intricate statue. Had he found her already? A noise like claws scraping rock and Polaris darted behind a large cluster of coral. He peaked around to just in time to see round ball with a face approach the statue. Something else moved and Polaris held back a gasp as a mass of kelp took the shape of a dog.
The Kelp dog was talking now and handing the crying girl a crown. Polaris couldn't make out what he was saying. Whatever it was, it seemed to take the tomato with a face by surprise.

Kelpie looked at her, "Give thy belief to the legend, and you may just find out the truth." Sir Kelpie walked out, dropping a copy of a page containing a legend passed down through his family along with the crown.

Flutter shrunk back deeper behind her rock, that wolf was a mean one, but perhaps it was out of worry. She knew the feeling personally herself, on land all the bears ought fiercely to protect the children. She smiled to herself unknowingly, although she couldn't figure out why.

Sir Kelpie got back on the merwolf, petting it's neck and going off back to the shack.
