Ha ha, I can see it now: A lovely, clorful cake featuring some CS characters. And then my parents give me the "WTF-why-are-there-abnormally-colored-animals-on-the-cake-our-daughter-must-have-lost-it-what's-a-chicken-smoothie" look. *facepalm* Looks like another project to be completed at EarthStar's house.

My lovely little haflinger, Akibo,
has helped me through my fear of horses.
I can never thank him enough.

*has good idea*
Can two people with CS accounts work together on the cake?

Yes but one entry = chance for only one possible prize, so you would also share anything you won
make sheet cake with friend, cut in half. decorate your own halves.
have a cake party. both make your own cake, and share supplies

I'm sorry if these exact questions have been asked before. I read the first 20 pages and didn't see them.
1. If the base is a cake can we use a majority of non-cake edible items? I was thinking particularly of using cookies and having a bunch of CS pet cookies on and around the cake.
2. If several users enter one cake would each still get separate participation prizes? Or would it be just one? I understand that the if the cake won a main prize then there would be one prize to be divided up as we saw fit. (If not I suppose we'll just whip up a cupcake really quick so that the other user can get a participation prize too.)
3. If the stuff you use is theoretically edible then could it be used even if nobody in their right mind would eat it? For example flour and water when allowed to dry create a very hard layer. Theoretically you could eat it, but most people wouldn't. Another example would be using kernels of grain or pasta to add texture/details. People eat grain and pasta all the time, but not usually uncooked on a cake.
4. Can there be a support structure outside the cake to support an element? For example if I wanted to do one of the balloon dogs could I have a necklace stand and have the balloon (which is some sort of edible material) suspended from it so that it looks like it is floating in the air?
5. Can we make minor photo touch-ups in an editing program on our cake photos? For example if we notice that our face is in the reflection of something (or a family member walking through the corner of the picture) can we blur it out? Or if all our pictures turn out blue can we use color adjustment to make them look normal? I'm not talking about using Photoshop/GIMP, but something non-manipulative like Picassa.
I'm sure I'll have a couple more questions, but that's all I can think of for now. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer everyone's questions and look forward to seeing everyone's cake designs.

use royal icing. it's confectioners sugar and stuff.

I guess this would be a good excuse to play with fondant.
it's okay to use a box mix, I don't know what you mean by 'jazz up pancake mix' but this should be a real cake, not a pancake
I'm sure you can make a cake cake with pancake mix.
if one can make cookies with pudding mix and cookies with cake mix. I'm sure one can make cake cake with, pancake mix.
just half the liquid.
I used to do it when I was younger.
those things had 40 ingredients.
