Origins: A Forgotten Time - 1x1: Tigermeow and The Ninth One

[Tigme]

Catherine looked at the boy's empty hands, and slowly backed away. She kept her knife up, pointed right at him, "You heard me." She growled, "Who are you, and why are you following me? Answer me!" Once more, she shouted right at him, "I heard you grabbing a knife, did you really think it'd be that easy to get me? I may be seen as crazy, but I'm not an idiot!" Her eyes were wild with a mixture of fear, and rage as she spoke.

[Jeydon]

"What? I'm not following you, I don't have any knives! Search me all you want, I don't have any weapons!" Newt insisted, thoroughly confused. Slowly, he slipped his satchel over his head and tossed it towards the woman, gesturing for her to open it and look inside.
"Whatever you want, take it, just please, leave me alone!"

[Tigme]

Catherine caught the bag as the boy tossed it over to her. She searched through it, clutching the knife in her hands. He was right, there was no weapon in here: only a whole bunch of spare parts she guessed he scavenged up. Looking around more, she spotted a small, crumpled up piece of paper. It looked familiar, holding the name of a shipping company, "Where'd you get this?" She hastily asked the boy, showing him the paper "Are you one of them?"

[Jeydon]

"No, I'm not. I found it on the floor in my house, after I returned to find my mom missing. I- I think someone kidnapped her, and based on that paper, I think that company might've been involved," Newt explained, slowly lowering his hands to his sides as his arms grew tired. Although his voice had at first been rather panicked, it seemed to have gained a much calmer, steadier tone as he adjusted to the situation.

Catherine investigated the paper once more before looking back at the boy, "Here, take it back." she closed up his bag, and tossed it back keeping the paper with her, "I have no need for your scraps. Now tell me, how do you plan on finding them?" She held up the piece of paper so he'd understand what she meant. She was planning something in her head, but did not speak of it just yet.

[Jeydon]

Newt swiftly caught the bag as it was returned to him, slipping it back over his shoulder.
"I've heard of the company before, I know of the location of one of their operations. I figured I'd look around, see if I could find anything, I guess. That's all I have to go on, so I don't know how far I'll get," Newt paused, before quickly adding, "I will find them, though, even if it takes years. I will."

[Tigme]

"Well, you're not going alone." Catherine put away her knife, but kept her hand on the handle. She stood up straighter as she continued, "If that's who I'm thinking, then we're after the same guys and there's no way I'm missing out on that." Although her words were vague, she still seemed completely sure of what she was saying.

[Jeydon]

"Oh, uh, okay, I guess?" Newt replied hesitantly, rather confused once again. He remained silent for a moment, eyeing the woman skeptically, before extending a hand to shake in a gesture of greeting and truce.
"I'm Newt. Newton Kilwraith."

[Tigme]

"Catherine's the name," Catherine responded, but she didn't shake his hand, "You've got a ship?" She asked, "I don't wanna waste my time if you don't even have a way off this planet." She spoke as though she was put into the position of following Newt, instead of making the quick decision to do so herself.

[Jeydon]

"No," Newt replied quietly, looking away as a sheepish smile crossed his face, "Sorry."
Although he didn't externally display it, Newt was rather uncomfortable with the situation. This woman, Catherine, as she called herself, seemed rather... Strange, to say the least. Paranoid, certainly (although, not entirely unlike Newt himself).
I can always just run once I get the chance, if I need to, Newt contemplated, glancing back up at Catherine.
