Am I the only one suspicious about the person who claimed to see the flash of red?

Because honestly, they saw it last night by the instruments?? Sounds suspicious to me...

Yeah! The fact that they're anonymous stood out to me for some reason... The whole thing is fishy. It's one of the things that's leading me to think someone's being framed.

I mean honestly.. a passerby..? anonymous as well?? How do we know THEY weren't the one who did it?? I could just be crazy here, but maybe there's someone we haven't been introduced to yet...?

I have a question.

A courtyard is generally... well, open to the sky. Sure, there's a gate - but if it's a true courtyard, as in it's open on the top, wouldn't someone who could fly be able to get in without a key?

I think the Chef is WAY too obvious. First suspect, ambiguous clues "pointing," to him but that could be explained away easily.

But also if it is open-topped anyone who would be able to swim high enough could get above the wall and in.
This rules the chef out slightly, he can't swim high.
It would have to be someone at least with a fin for swimming, or one of the squids.

all have tentacles or tails to aid in swimming. BUT
the dragon also has wings and is shown in a floating/flying position.

I feel it has something to do with the cheff.

REASONS:

1) Aparently an anon swears he saw red near the instruments, this most likely took place AFTER the instructor left. How did this anonymous person see it?
2)After reading the instructor's note, it states someone with a key could have gotten in, the cheff has a key and he could have let someone in.
3) The cheff has a mane and tail with tentacles that are red.

OR someone was doing a 24 hpur challenge on the stage and couldn't see where they were going and bumped into one instrument and caused a chain reaction

I agree! Plus the chef was the only one left at work!

I think Calamari is a red herring.

1. he has tentacles but they're on his head, why would you slam your head into the floor unless you were trying to make yourself a suspect. he has tentacles for food but he has to prepare that food.
2. if someone found out he'd sabotaged it he'd lose his job which he obviously seems to care about. he's stressed but he's still preparing all the food and why sabotage it when he's already worked so hard?
3. the flash was described as RED. his mane is more maroon, and at night when it took place it would have looked like a dark purple. not red.
4. they wouldn't have the first suspect be the one who did everything. plus everyone is pushing blame on him, making us all suspect him but there are lots more suspects who would have stronger motives than just wanting a break.

I'm going to be boring and say that I think Calamari is a red herring because the staff wanted a red herring while the real culprit is not a suspect and therefore will startle us when revealed.

but why sabotage something and then investigate it? that is what I don't get.
also, what would be the motive behind it. there isn't any pent up feelings toward the jamboree.
lastly, the weapons used were shells and seaweed. cuttler doesn't necessarily ask for any of that stuff.

the one thing that I do understand is that they were there late that night because they were a guard and the tentacle marks.
but someone could easily frame a squid if they had the right tools.

one: you would of course want to "investigate" something you did, as then one could make sure you yourself don't become a suspect.
two: i honestly have no clue so far, the only thing to do is wait and see if anything pops up.
three: i could've sworn that someone said wood was used, though i'm likely wrong. i have a horrible memory. person above me theorizing the torn paper possibly saying wood.
i have nothing else to say myself, besides that the boutique dog is also a likely suspect.

You know... The Seaweed bit can easily be explained.. The seaweed could have been taken from the Jamboree Organizer after he spit out the seaweed.

Also Panopea's table game has plenty of shells. So once you get inside, just take some shells from the table!

Its also possible Panopea had a hidden key in one of the shells. She is after all hosting a game that is well known for being used by magicians to con people. Perhaps her talents allowed her to snatch the key?

Also her pink color with reddish markings is close to red. It can be hard to tell the exact color at high speeds.

Calamari isn't a solid red color. So its possible he didn't do it since the witness saw a blaze of red.

I stand by my theory it was Panopea.

Edit!!! Twiggybit's post that was quoted by nickjr made me realize something! Pink in low lighting more closely resembles red! Panopea suspect number 1!

I mean obviously an anonymous tip from someone? It could've been faked to frame someone.

And the cub isn't too innocent either. I say they did something... Perhaps like giving a key to someone ...? HMMM?
