Guys, also it could've been a group of pets, it explains why it could've been anyone, not just the squids, the race track owner, etc, and also that means that verdana could've been looking to cause more damage by stealing pearls, but got caught in the process

these are all reasonable suspects imo

shelly - because of raire's hints
cuttler (?) - kind of unreasonable but yknow, tentacle prints but i think that's a bit too shallow of a fact to go off of - cuttler, panopea and squiddy aren't like the only squids in existence (although they'd probably make the culprit somebody we've seen)
wade - again, tentacle prints, same for panopea
the dragon dude (mr. herringbone or smth) - he mentioned that he was annoyed that he didn't get invited so he could have destroyed the instruments because of how salty he was
lion cub - she likes pretty things?? instruments = pretty things (at least to me,,,)

REASONING:

• Weapons: Shells and seaweed. What did Chef Calamari need today? Thats right. for his "famous Salty Salad".
• "Did you see the news today? They're acting like no crime ever happens here. What about all the sticky paws helping themselves to my grub? I need a vacation." He is obviously upset that critters were eating his food, maybe he was hoping to gain a vacation from postponing the jamboree by sabotaging it.
• Orchid Sprig tentacles: his mane is made of tentacles! Plus he could have used some of the squid he has on the table to frame Panopea or the head guard himself! an orchid sprig.

relating it to Raire's hints:

• He gave us food such as shish kabobs and pink pudding. Not to mention he need the kelp and shells for his salty salad.

EVIDENCE CON'T

• "working late swatting thieves away from my food" but the otters weren't there in the first place..?! A false scapegoat. If he was there late, he had plenty of an opportunity to trash the instruments.

dang i'm going to argue with people over pixel pets

oKAY but shelly has also been asking for shells and seaweed, and at that, wAY before chef calamari wanted them.

i personally think raire's hints point to shelly - in that hint, raire also mentioned she has room for two more meals, and shelly is the one who wanted food - she wants twO food items.

i don't think that the otters are always the thieves - i mean to say that they are the only thieves in the lost city is kinda,,, unreasonable in my opinion - also, how do we know we adopted all of the otters?? maybe the chef didn't catch all of the otters and some escaped??

the tentacle thing was a nice detail, though!! kinda forgot about the tentacle thing. it could have been cuttler inspecting the stage afterwards, though.

edit: we only gave calamari the shells & seaweed today which probably isn't enough to literally break a ton of instrumenrs but we've been giving shelly shells & seaweed right from the start
