Darkheart looked into the water. It was dirty and did not have many water-grown plants. He kicked up the dirt and whinnied. Darkheart made his way back down the dusty cliff side with ease and even hissed at a snake. He was coming closer to civilization than ever before, making his rounds longer and having to hide from other horses being ridden bareback.

Em looked around.Her nostrils flared slightly when a light breeze made her mane and tail sway.She swung around when she caught the scent of other horses.She whinnied shrilly and put her head between her legs and bucked repeatedly when a butterfly landed on her.

Dark was upwind, but he could here the shrill crying of another horse. He was tempted to make it be quiet; all the ponypets were like that. Dark beat his hoofs on the ground before racing off towards the awful sound.

Em lifted her head at the sound of hoofs.She turned around again with flattened ears.She stopped then when she saw the horse.She pricked her ears and whinned again.

Dark snorted and threw his head back. He circled the mare, looking for the rider. No rider. His ears relaxed, but only slightly. "Why do you make your ponypet sounds?" He spit. Dark glared at the new mare with suspicion.
