We don't know yet, we'll have to wait and see! My guess is that you'll have to own some certain items, but I doubt you'll have to put them on a pet.

In past events we sometimes had to dress up pets with specific items, so it's likely that at some point we will have to do this again to progress the story. We'll find out c:

Make sure to grab the banners every 20 Minutes, and the Kelp Forest every hour! The more active you are the more tokens you get, which give you more pets!!!

Of course you won't be able to get every one unless you are a super human, but try to grab the banners whenever you can c:
