The knock on the door startled Avery, he hadn't locked it when Shavari left and she almost never knocked anyway. The rapping continued though, and he finally lost his cool and swung the door open only to come face to face with Shavari.
"You never knock." He stated simply, his confusion growing when she continued to stand outside of his apartment.
"What? You'd rather me barge in here like I own the place? Where's your outfit? We're going out to find someone for you, you could at least try." She gestured at his wrinkled shirt. Avery stepped aside allowing Shavari to enter, "Come on lets find you something decent to wear. You've got to have something."
She made her way through his apartment to the back, where she opened his closet and began shuffling through Avery's clothes. As much as she was pushy and rude, Avery knew it was just her way of caring. Besides, if you called her out on it she'd tone it down, but Avery didn't often do that.
Avery heard something being pulled off the rack and thrown on the bed, along with several other articles of clothing. She shuffled them around, and as Avery entered the room he saw one of his few dress shirts laying on the bed with a pair of dress pants. Shavari crouched down and peered along the bottom of the closet, pulling out a pair of nice shoes she though would look good with the get-up. Other items on the bed consisted of a sweat and polo shirt or two, but she'd clearly chosen the purple dress-shirt and black pants.
"Go put those on, then come show me." She said, dropping the outfit into his arms and pushing him towards the bathroom. "I'll find you a pair of socks."
"Top right drawer!" Avery directed her as he began to close the door of the bathroom.
"Awwwwww, I was hoping to rifle through your dresser drawers. Ah, maybe another day." Avery chuckled as he pulled on the pants and shirt.
"Ahah! Found 'em!" Shavari bounded across the bedroom and into the hallway, cracking open the bathroom for a few inches just to throw the socks in. "Oh, you're gonna look so goooood, and it'll all be thanks to me!"
As Avery exited the bathroom he was ambushed by Shavari, who quickly took a look at his get-up and began to unbutton the top two button of his shirt before patting it down so it sat nicely, "Alright, now tuck the pants in and pull on your shoes!" She meandered down the hallway and into his office, rolling the closet door aside and pulling out the dress Avery had been saving for her birthday. "Aww, you shouldn't have, it's gorgeous!"
"I was saving that for your birthday you know. How did you even know it was there?" Avery asked as she squeezed by him in the narrow hallway to the bathroom, the golden dress waving behind her. It had two wheat stalks embroidered on the top, and Avery knew it was perfect for Shavari. She always had wheat tucked behind her ears or tied around her tail, though where she got it Avery hadn't the faintest.
She whirled out of the bathroom and danced down the hallway, delighting in how the dress seemed to float in the air. "You'll never know how I knew! Hey, didn't I leave a pair of flats at your house a month or two ago? Where did I put them... oh!" She slipped the flats on her feet, they'd been sitting by the door ever since she'd swapped them for tennis shoes when she dropped by Avery's house after her cousin's wedding, and opened the door. "Come on Avery, we're going to the club!"
Avery grabbed his keys from the dish on the counter and made sure to lock the door on his way out, making his way to the elevator as Shavari held her arm out to ensure the elevator door wouldn't close before he got there. "Come on! Let's go!"
