Just try and get as many items as possible! Also, spin pokestops daily to get the daily bonus. Try to catch any and all Pokemon that pop up. And wait to evolve your Pokemon until at least level 6+ and until you have enough candy to evolve your Pokemon twice(for those Pokemon that have more than one evolution). This way, you can get enough candy and wait for a good, strong one to evolve instead of accidentally wasting it on a weak one you caught early on. Unless Your more of a collecter than battler. If collecting, then it's up to you.
And most of all, have fun!

I would say the same as Easter mostly. Here's a bit of extra things too haha

-You will get eggs after some pokestops; you have to put an incubator on them and they hatch depending on how much you walk
- you will start out with some incenses; use them. They will give you Pokemon and xp, but are usually not very rare Pokemon so they are good for just starting out.
-when you're level 5, you can join a team and battle for gyms you should choose instinct with me lol join whatever team you want; currently it's mostly valor (red) vs. Mystic (blue)
- you get stardust from catching Pokemon. Using this and a pokemon's candy, it levels up its combat power (CP). Stardust is not required to evolve Pokemon, however you will need a lot of the pokemon's candy
- be familiar with the berries and what they do (you will get them as you level up
- raid battles I don't think you have to worry about for a while, but when you do get a higher level they are fun to participate in
- you can transfer Pokemon you don't want for that type of pokemon's candies! You can mass transfer by holding down on a Pokemon in your box

Also, don't waste your lucky eggs until you have roughly 80 or so pokemon to evolve! You get the most xp for those.. I wasted mine in the beginning because I didn't know

How do you like the new(ish) gym system?
For the most part, I like it. There's a few things here and there that I wish they'd left alone, but with the way it is now gyms no longer sit stagnant. I feel like 50 coins per day is a little low though, considering how easily the gyms turn over now.
Is there any Pokemon you've given a meaningful name? If so, why that Pokemon and why is its name meaningful?
I like naming all my Pokemon, though because I have so many Pokemon like Pidgey and Weedle as well as various others, I decided only to give my Pokemon over 1000 CP a nickname. None of them are really meaningful though, except for the Snorlaxes (see below) and my Golduck Squggs. If I were to really pick one, it would probably be Beware Bear. My sister has an Ursaring named FightingBear because it has Close Combat and she uses primarily against Snorlax and Blissey, so it's kinda connected to that. It's also a reference to Bewear in SM because it has fighting moves, I dunno.

Kangaskhan; I've always liked it, even though I've never used it in a play through of any Pokemon game. Plus I doubt I'll manage to get one until trading is implemented, so it gives me something to look forward to.

My Flareon, Sol. I evolved him back when Pokemon Go was still pretty new by following one of those "guarantee CP of over 1000" charts, and he was the first one I evolved with it.
What was the first Pokemon of yours to reach 2000+ CP?
My Snorlax, Big Chunker. So, here's the story to this guy; my sister and I went out tonight, planning to do a few raid battles before it got too late. While we were driving around looking around for raids, we stopped by a gym to put in our Pokemon and found a Snorlax. We were both pretty excited (though she already has multiple Snorlaxes) and we both caught it. Mine ended up being roughly 1500 CP, which was great considering my highest was about 1600 CP. We went back to driving after, not finding any raids (which was disappointing considering how many had gone on earlier that afternoon) but we found another Snorlax. Oh my god, two in one day, what? It was in a really weird position that we could hardly reach from the road, but we both managed to tap on it and go into the catch screen before we parked and went to work on catching it. Mine had CP of ??? so I figured it would be about 1650-1700 since I'm only a level 23, but after I caught it I was met with a solid 2039. Pretty sure I screamed. Those were my first two Snorlaxes, as well. The first one is named Little Chunk, and they're both named that way because my niece's nickname is Chunk and sometimes we call her a Snorlax (she even has a Snorlax plushie)

Ok now this one I can actually answer. Pikachu. Pikachu. I just can't seem to find the little mouse! I'm really fond of the mascot so I just wanted at least 1 Pikachu but no, I guess he doesn't like me. If trading is implemented, the first Pokemon I will trade for is gosh darn Pikachu.

His name is Archie. He is an Arcenine. I evolved him when the game was newer, since my area had a huge amount of Growlithe. He is also one of the only Pokemon I managed to name before my keyboard gave up on me.

What was the first Pokemon of yours to reach 2000+ CP?
This hasn't happened yet...... I hope in the future that it will be my Espeon (who does not exist yet and I am working on getting), but for now, there is none yet.

Spieder, pronounced Speed-er. It's a Spinerak.
It's more of a small running joke I have with myself, than anything. I had been playing minecraft one night, and fell down near a Spider spawner. Needless to say I was heavily unprepared, so whilst I had my character running like hell, my pronunciation of the word "spider" got more ludicrous as I said it. Therefore, I have a Spider pokemon named Spieder.

Hm, that's a bit of a hard one. Currently my main wants are Umbreon, Arcanine, and Houndoom. I can currently evolve for two of them, but houndoor are harder to find around here.

None, as of yet. I've not been playing as actively as I used to, and even when I was active I only ever got to do so much. The lack of stops and gyms near my house has really taken a toll on how far I advance in the game.

How do you like the new(ish) gym system?
I absolutely hate the new rewards system.
The activity in my city is so rare that my pokemon stayed in their gyms for 8 days, from which I could have gotten 10 coins per each pokemon, per day, but nothing. Until one day they were all beaten at once. So instead of getting around 400 coins, I got 50.

Snorlax. Pretty much everyone I know has one (or more), but I have never even seen a single one;;

Boy that was a long time ago.
If I remember correctly, one of the very first was my laprass. I think I hatched it around 1100-1200.

Not sure of the exact order, but my Rhydon, Vaporeon and Exeggutor were among the first ones.

What feature do you really want to be implemented into the games?
Worldwide trading.

If legendaries will ever come, which would you want the most?
From the 1st and 2nd generations, probably Mew and Suicune.

How do you feel about raids?
Anything above level 2 (maybe 3) is pretty much impossible when no one else in your area plays. If they wanted to do multiplayer, they should have done it when people were actually playing.

How do you feel about Pokemon Go now? Is it boring, and meaningless? Or is it fun and exciting still?
Honestly I'm losing interest myself.
I was hoping for some huge candy multiplier event for the 1 year anniversary, but instead we get a single pikachu (which hasn't even appeared to me once). And it seems like the creators are building the game more and more for very populated areas, making it impossible to enjoy in its entirety when you live in a medium size city with like 10-20 active players total. I wish they would put more emphasis on single players who can't take on the raid bosses in teams..

In fact, if they will make certain pokemon available to people only trough region-specific events, then most people can't even dream about collecting the full dex. And I hate that. It's a game, not a travel app. Not everyone can afford to go places just to get a pokemon.
