Duci saw a loner dog hasstling through the wet grass as she grinned,running infront of it,posture showing domenince.The other dog gasped and hid his tail under his legs before backing away ''what're you doing on the evergreen forest's territory?'' she growled as the male gulped ''i-i'm sorry,I-I was looking for a kennel to join,c-could I possibly join yours?'' he told Duci as she rolled her eyes and led the way.

As they came back to Loki,he smiled ''if you're brave enough,do with Duci for hunting and dog patrol.'' he told them as they left slowly.

Kodiak looks up just as the rain started to fall harder, his pelt was soaked now. He looked over at his shaman and saw the same thing. "We should head back to camp, I don't want us to get sick and our herb supply is kind of low." Parker barked with worry.

Kodiak nodded and respected the decision, though he hoped Charlie was doing better than they were. "These storms mean the cold days are coming, maybe you should work on your herb supply?" Kodiak started the conversation as they headed back to camp, unaware of what lies for them there.

As the alpha and shaman got closer to camp, the beta joined them. She managed to catch 2 small birds and one mouse while out hunting. Upon entering camp and the cave where the fresh-kill pile was Kodiak took notice of two strange dogs eating a squirrel. Letting out a growl the alpha quickly ran over to the two strangers, looming over them.

Both dogs froze, although the squirrel was now gone. The larger one of the two turned his head, looking Kodiak in the eyes. The smaller one, female, hid under her male friend. Kodiak was angry, but also took pity on the pair knowing how hard it could be to find food in storms. "Who are you?" the alpha barked.

The larger one of the pair stood a bit taller now and spoke for himself and the female who hid under him. "I am Bandit and the female below me is Azalea. We have been traveling for so long and where starving when we came across your home. We couldn't help ourselves. It had been days." Bandit explained.

Azalea finally came out from hiding under Bandit, still scared but feeling more comfortable than before. She stood close to the male, avoiding eye contact with any of the other dogs.

Kodiak looked at both his beta and shaman, seeing pity in both dogs eyes. Letting out a sigh the alpha relaxed his position before clearing his throat. "My pack and I can provide food and shelter for you if you decided to join us. However due to eating some of our prey you will be punished. As for punishment I want both of you to join Parker to find more herbs. With this weather we will need it. However I want you to go out after the storm."

Both dogs give a slight nodded before thanking Kodiak for showing mercy. Together the pack and it's newest member's wait out the storm. They begin telling stories among one another. Kodiak leaves the group to go sit closer to the cave mouth, keeping his eyes peeled and ears perked in case there was any signs of a dog in need.

Ares curled his lip at the female shepard, who lowered herself to the ground and pressed her stomach to the ground in submission. "Please!" She barked above a clap of thunder and heavy rain that beat the earth relentlessly. "My name is Nike and I'm just looking for shelter from the storm! If I'm not welcome here, I will leave without issue!" Nike looked up at the alpha with desperate golden eyes. Ares stared down at her with hard eyes and turned to look at Hello, his new beta. The fluffy black and white dog said nothing and dipped his head. Anteros and Deimos, who'd just returned from an unsuccessful hunting trip just in time to see the confrontation, remained silent while they watched.

The rain bit into Ares's fur and he shook out his short pelt. "You may remain here as a member of the Night Callers. Now, Deimos and Anteros," he nodded to the brothers, "will show you to the Irontooth den. Stay there until I come get you."

Nike stood and nodded, going off to join the brothers as they entered the den near the entrance of camp. Bello trotted after them, his thick coat flinging water droplets as he went. Ares waited until their tails disappeared before guiding Athena towards the Tenderpaw den. The small pup was hesitant on leaving her mentor but Ares assured her that everything was to be fine. He padded through the mud and checked with Diana. The collie was laying by her herbs and lifted her head when Ares arrived. He smirked. "Comfortable?"
Diana rolled her eyes and set her head back down. "Better get to your den, Ares. The stars are starting to shake."
Ares nodded to her and ran to his den, kicking up chunks of mud. The rain was blinding, but he found the cave where he had made his den. He shook off his coat and sat down near the entrance, squinting into the rain. Through the mist, he could barely see the clearing where the fresh-kill pile sat (it had been moved into th elder's den the night before). If any dogs stumbled into camp during the storm, Ares would see them.

"You really think letting the females stay in the camp and not go out and hunt is such a good idea? I mean what if the rain doesn't let up for some time?" Kalven voiced his worry. Maybe he should do some hunting? He did know how after all he thought to himself.

Butch was the one to answer for Troy "Shiver and the rest need to rest. What use are they if they get sick and can't hunt for moons?" he growled, though he was more concerned about his mate. Markus confirmed her pregnancy a few days ago and though he was full of joy and couldn't wait for the new arrivals he couldn't help but worry. It was such bad timing on his part and he blamed himself, even Markus agreed with that.

"Butch is right Kalven, though I don't think he is speaking the whole truth on his end. They need to keep their strength up and right now we need to check the borders again to make sure there are no more trespassers. Storms always bring in more mouths to feed but every dog needs to pull their own weight." The alpha commanded, "and I am sure Butch wants to double check the borders before his pups are born?" hopefully this would make the trip go by faster.

"Of course. I also need to tell you that I won't be going on many patrols until they become the next Tenderpaws. I want to make sure they stay safe and out of danger." The Dane boldly looked into Troy's eyes. He saw both anger and shock brewing behind the alpha and quickly explained "Don't worry, I will guard the camp and patrol occasionally. I just don't want anything to happen to them is all."

That seemed to work because a look of understanding came from Troy. "Good. Pups are part of the fae's job anyways." he half growled, still not to happy he will be down an Ironteeth. Kalven stayed quiet after this, they all did as they focused on their job, their pelts dripping with water as they continued.

After the patrol returned back to camp Troy left the group for the evening. Only Markus knew where he was going and what he was about to do. The ridge-back male made his way to the clearing where he spoke with the ancestors, even the rain seemed to let up a little as he made his way.

Troy sat in the center of the meadow and looked up "Ancestors, Twisting Briars has grown so much since the last time I reported to you. You have sent a diligent and wise shaman the last time, but this time I ask for you to send me a worthy mate. A Fae that can hold her own in a battle even though she does not have to, a fae that can hunt for the whole pack if needed. A strong and healthy dog to be by my side and have my son so he may carry on the kennel once I leave to join you." Troy looked down then, dipping his head in respect before laying down to see if the ancestors has heard him. He didn't mind the light rain that dripped onto his short pelt.(If you role-play her a bit she is a sassy little punk who doesn't take orders well.)

Next visit with the ancestors: now / tuesday, july twenty-fifth

The rain was so thick that Lochlain couldn't see ahead of himself as he poked his head out of the den. He quickly pulled it back in and huddled close to Ardala again, "It'll be tough out today.." he trailed off, eyeing the two newest recruits. Torra and Caelan had shown up a moon ago, soaked to the bone from the rain and since they'd shown up the weather hadn't been any friendlier. The two retrievers were still asleep, using the other for both warmth and comfort. Isak had a hard time getting used to the fact that there was less room in the den but he kept his mouth shut - he was thankful for any kind of shelter in this weather. The stone pile was proving useful, Lochlain made a mental note that once the weather had cleared he'd have to work on clearing out deeper into the pile so more dogs could fit. "I wonder how Bear and Kai are faring in this.." Ardala spoke, eyes staring out into the harsh weather. Lochlain shrugged lightly, "I'm sure Kai has found a way to ensure that his old badger set doesn't flood.. As for Bear, that dog can handle a little rain." Little did Lochlain know, Bear was holed up with the always grumpy Kai and he was paying for his ill behavior with the shaman.

Ardala snuggled into Lochlain's shoulder with a heavy sigh, "Lochlain?" The brute's ears flicked toward Ardala as he watched the rain pouring outside, "Hmm?" he grunted. Ardala hesitated before blurting quietly, "Can I call you my mate? Can we have pups?"

Lochlain's head snapped in the direction of the other wolfhound and his thick tail was set to thumping against the hard ground, "Oh, Ardala, I'd love for nothing more in this world."

Moments later Bear's head poked into the den and he barked, "A little rain doesn't stop the Sentinels, now does it!?" The large dog trudged in, his thick coat dripping rain, "I need everyone out hunting. Except Isak - you can stay here and watch camp, that thick coat of yours is likely to do nothing more then hold you back." How desperately Isak wanted to argue at that but he kept his mouth quiet, knowing better then to tempt the dragon that was Bear. Torra and Caelan however, were thrilled. Rain wasn't a horrible thing for their coats - this rain, however, was so strong their thrill was dampened just a touch.

One moon later..

Belle padded out from the nursery, Iris supporting her as she walked, "Who are you and what are you doing on my kennel's territory?" she growled, "Calm down chub! Just looking for a place to rest.. this storm is coming in and I already lost my sister!" growled back the dog, Belle sighed, looking up at the sky, the biggest part of the storm was coming in, "If you stay at camp, you become one of us" Belle growled, the dog nodded "Sure sure, why not, right?" he barked, Iris rolled her eyes "Probably gonna use us just to get what he wants.." Iris woofed, Logan and Florida barged into camp, each dog grabbed each other a piece of pet to share with the other and ran into the dens, Logan going with Belle and Iris to the nursery after quickly gathering up Iris's herbs for her, Florida and the newcomer going off to Solo in the Tenderpaw den, "What's your name?" Florida asked, "The name's Rookie, at least that's what my twolegs called me, my sister's name was Darling.." he growled, he gobbled up a serving of magpie, while Florida ate the other serving left over, Solo eating a serving of squirrel before Florida gave the other serving to Logan while padding out the den, as soon as Florida set paw back into the Tenderpaw den, the storm hit.
One moon later..
Logan had finished up a serving of rabbit, Iris had eaten a serving before, as well as Belle, only a full magpie and a serving of a squirrel remained, the dogs had been lapping up melted ice and snow from the storm, to open afraid to head out and be killed by the storm just from getting a drink of water, suddenly a yelp came from Belle, "Iris the pups!" Belle barked, Logan turned to Iris, noticing she was resting he quickly nudged her, tugging in her ear till she shot up, "Pups, Iris! Pups!" he growled, Iris quickly gathered up herbs I nearly a panic, before setting them down, "Take it easy Belle, remain calm, ignore all of the pain.." Iris barked.

The kennel consumed a full magpie, 1 serving of a squirrel, and 3 servings of rabbit

Weather Report: It is bitterly cold thanks to the strong winds and heavy rain. This storm is dangerous and dogs can't see very far ahead of them without squinting. It is wise to keep your dogs in camp to wait out the storm or risk them getting hurt, prey most likely won't be out in this weather and neither are predators. Though dogs will come across your camp as they look for shelter, some are not friendly so beware! Pups, Elders and Tenderpaws are weak in this weather and should rest if they can.

OOC: If you have less than five dogs you do not need to worry about this brutal storm. For you guys it is just a light rain and not as dangerous so you can go ahead and send your dogs out for the regular stuff. Unless you want this brutal weather? Please say so in the bottom of your post, where you say what your dogs are doing. AGAIN! Only if you have 5 or less dogs.

It looked as if the stranger wanted a fight as they approached the alpha but the slight tail wag said otherwise and the friendly "Hello." that the black lab barked at him.

"That's all you caught?" Bear growled at the group that came back early. Their pelts were dripping with mud and water as they gave him annoyed glares.

"It is cold out there and there was not much out in this weather. Just look at the rabbits we caught, they are scrawny and injured from the storm. Not to mention they just laid there for us to catch." Lochlain growled at the alpha before adding "Torra even started to cough while we were out."

Bear was about to say something when a large dog made their way into the den. He had no idea who they were and they made no noise besides the 'umpf' from the collapse. Without Kai there the dogs all just looked at each other, unsure what to make of the ordeal. All but bear seemed to disperse away from the stranger then.

Ardala is expecting, she is due in two moons!
Kai finds Alder bark and feverfew. (Don't forget the poppyseeds and deathberries from last time)
A dog stumbles into your camp. They have a fever and fell unconscious.
Lochlain, Ardala, Torra and Caelan catch two rabbits.
Torra has caught a cold! They need to take it easy for two posts or they may get worse.
The ancestors sent you an ironteeth!

Finally though Iris came out of the den "She is doing fine physically. She gave birth to four pups but one did not make it. I think she needs you to go and comfort her." the shaman murmured to him. The news shocked him but he didn't hesitate to go into the den once Iris gave the okay to do so.

Belle gave birth to 1, 2, 3, 4 pups! Sadly though one is still born.

Kodiak perked his ears up, hearing a faint whimper between thunder crashes. Turning to his pack the alpha barked to stay put, before dashing out into the storm. "Hello!?" he called, trying to see through the heavy rain. A faint blur moved off in the distance, catching the alpha's attention. He moved in closer calling out again.

The shivering female whipped around, hearing some other dog call out. She was ready to give up on her search, but was now hoping even more someone had heard her. Daisy walked closer in the direction she heard someone, running into a large mass of wet fluff. Letting out an oof, the female stumbled back a bit. She felt another dog help her to her paws, guiding her some where.

It seemed liked ages as the pair walked back to the camp, both now where soaking wet. Upon entering the cave the alpha paused and shook the water from his pelt before looking down at the female. "Are you alright miss...?" he asked, pausing for a moment. Daisy lifted her head and nodded a bit. "Thank you... I thought I was alone out there... I didn't think I would find anyone. I'm Daisy. Both my soon to be pups and I can't thank you enough." she spoke, her tail wagging slowly.

The mention of pups caused the alpha to stare blankly at the female before quickly snapping his head up and calling out for his faithful shaman Parker. "Parker! Please check on miss Daisy and her pups. We want to be sure everyone is alright." the alpha barked. Soon after Parker came out of one of the near by dens and came over to the pair. "Please come with me. We will get you settled in, and taken care of." the shaman said, leading the pregnant female to one of the caves.

Charlie, Bandit and Azalea came out of the same cave and walked over to their alpha. Each one glancing at the new comer as she walked by. "Will she be staying with us?" Charlie asked.

Kodiak sat down and let out a heavy sigh before shrugging slightly. "I am not sure... Although when she has settled down I'll ask her. However either way I will allow her to stay until her pups are strong enough to make it out there."

Nevermore kennels consists mainly of big dogs, and although his may be the case, they are still gentle giants. Nevermore was so aptly named because most dogs in it were either rejected by other kennels or rejected and abused by humans. This kennel was founded by an ex-fighting dog after he escaped his captors. He vowed to never let such a thing happen to any other dog and goes to extreme lengths to protect those in his kennel, and he expects all in his kennel to do the same.

TERRITORY: Nevermore kennels is located in a valley where they are sheltered from most everything. Harsh winter weather,
heavy rain, tornados and other natural disasters seldom ever hit the valley. Winter, although it may not bring heavy snow and harsh conditions, still makes prey scarce and plants die.
PERSONALITY: Nevermore kennels is overprotective, very accepting, not quick to judge, and often quick to anger.
DOGS: the dogs of this kennel consist mostly of big dogs, like the Great Dane, Irish Wolfhound, Tibetan Mastiff, Saint Bernard,
Great Pyrenese, Newfoundland, and the like. Small dogs are not uncommon either, often involving Corgis, Basset Hounds,
Swedish Valhound, Dachsunds, and similar. There is no real restriction on what breeds can be in the kennel, although smaller dogs are more often frowned upon and not seen as valuable as bigger dogs.

It looked as if the stranger wanted a fight as they approached the alpha but the slight tail wag said otherwise and the friendly "Hello." that the black lab barked at him.

Ares's ears went foreward as he heard the bark of a dog through the beating rain. He squinted his eyes and could barely see the shape of a broad shouldered black lab staring back at him with a friendly expression on her pretty face. The alpha poked his head out of the den and pinned his ears against his head when another clap of thunder broke across the sky. It startled the lab as well and she jumped, looking pleadingly at Ares. "Come in with me out of the rain." He barked, ducking back into the cave. The female followed shortly after.

"Thank you." She said, shaking off her soaked pelt and spraying Ares in rain water. The lab chuckled at the Alpha's less than pleased face and laid down on the soft dirt, stretching her paws out in front of her in comfort. "My name's Enyo by the way."
"Ares. I'm the Alpha of this kennel."
Enyo cocked her head at this statement. "A kennel? I didn't think those were around anymore." Ares shook his head and sat back down at the cave entrance ignoring Enyo. However, the female did not stop with her questions. She moved and sat down next to Ares, pressing her pelt up against his. He tensed, feeling warmth spread through his body. What was going on? Did he...no. No. No. No! He didn't! "Could I join your kennel? I have nowhere else to go."
"Of-Of course you can." Ares stammered, his tail thumping on the ground. Enyo pressed herself further into Ares with a happy sigh, making the heat of the male's pelt escalate. He continued his watch with what could possibly be his mate sitting right beside him.
