War, terrible war.
Widows, orphans, a motherless child. This was the uprising that rocked our land. Thirteen districts rebelled against the country that fed them, loved them, protected them. Brother turned on brother until nothing remained. And then came the peace, hard fought, sorely won. A people rose up from the ashes and a new era was born. But freedom has a cost. When the traitors were defeated, we swore as a nation we would never know this treason again. And so it was decreed that each year the various districts of Panem would offer up in tribute one young man and woman to fight to the death in a pageant of honor, courage, and sacrifice. The lone victor, bathed in riches, would serve as a reminder of our generosity and our forgiveness. This is how we remember our past. This is how we safeguard our future.

Welcome, welcome! Now, the time has come for us to select twenty-four courageous young men and women for the honor of representing their districts in the 78th annual hunger games.

Which are you?

1. Follow all CS rules, particularly those pertaining to RPing violence, gore, etc.
2. No characters from the actual series or characters with relations to the book characters. Be unique, and realistic to your district.
3. No powerplaying, godmodding, mary sues, etc.
4. Following number three, yes. Your character can die. You must be realistic: what can your character stand, and what can they not stand? They will not come out unscathed.
5. Do not be rude if your character has poor luck. All potential risks, aside from character attacks/kills, are written down before the games and used with a random generator. I am not singling out anyone's character, and will not, unless someone appears to be powerplaying.
6. Do not kill or seriously injure a character without their express permission. However, everyone must be realistic. See rule four.
7. Be active. I expect at least relatively frequent posts {twice every two days, at least}. PM me if you will have an absence, and your character will be safe from dangers for three days (our time, game time is different)- but you can only have this once. You can request that your character is killed.
8. Please make your posts at least three sentences long and without 'chatspeak.'
9. Maximum three characters per person, if at least one is either a stylist or a mentor, and there are no interactive relationships between the three. (E.g. two tributes that don't interact, a tribute and a mentor that aren't working together, etc.) One person cannot have multiple victors.
10. Please post all OOC discussions, questions, and character forms in the discussion thread.
11. Keep swearing to less harsh words (damn, hell, etc.).
12. Have a happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Sponsors will send gifts at random. These will be done by generator, taking account of scores I write relating to the character's crowd appeal, ability to impress, mentor's skill, and level of need.
