Weather Report: As summer comes to lazy halt the heat has finally let up. The sky is hidden by a the grey clouds from last moon. They've grown thick and even in day time it seems.. dark out. The weather is brewing something brutal right before fall. Prey seems to have holed up in fear of the scary weather and so have the predators. While kennels will have more trouble catching prey they'll have more luck finding dogs searching for a place to hide from the oncoming bad weather.

Aquila couldn't help but feel uneasy whenever she was near Coleus. She kept replaying the moment in her mind from a month ago when his personality had completely flipped. Of course, she couldn't blame him for becoming mad — she had spoken carelessly — but it was the way that he didn't even need to lash out or raise his voice. It was by going silent that he had overpowered the beta. The part that had unnerved her the most, however, was how he had gone back to his usual friendly personality in an instant.

"Good morning, Aquila," Coleus barked with a bright smile. "Lovely day, isn't it?"

Aquila forced herself to smile. "It sure is," she agreed.

The alpha nodded, looking very pleased with himself. "I shouldn't waste any more time," he decided. "I'm off to patrol the borders. You will hunt with Oliver." Before the beta even had a chance to respond, he had padded off into the forest.

Aquila was happy to at least be able to share the kennel with someone other than Coleus. Oliver seemed nice enough, and he definitely had a good heart. The golden retriever was happy to be able to hunt with him. "Hi, Oliver," she greeted as she padded up to him.

"Hi! You're... Aquila, right?" the irontooth asked. "Sorry. I should probably know this by now," he added.

The beta smiled softly. "Yes, I'm Aquila. There's no need to apologize; I know we never officially met," she assured. "Anyway, Coleus suggested that the two of us hunt together, so we should probably get going." Oliver nodded, trailing close behind Aquila as they ventured into the forest.

Rerria was extremely pleased that they'd both caught enough prey to last them before they caught more, and also dog! She preferred the personality of this one to Achilles. Achilles was too blunt. He didn't really have his own ideas or quirks. He was just... well, bland. Juniper however seemed to have initiative and more of a sense of humour. As they returned to camp, Rerria guessed that she would need to choose one of them as her beta. She could get a shaman from their ancestors, because they would need one soon, but betas were also important. Sure, Juniper was very young but she would make a better beta than Achilles, in Rerria's opinion. "I'm calling a meeting." she declared before leaping up onto the Post, as she'd named it. Below her Juniper and Achilles loosely gathered, one sitting one standing. This wouldn't suffice. "Sit in a straight line, please." she ordered and began her 'meeting'. "As you know we need a beta, and I'm choosing one of you two." both seemed to shuffle uneasily, as if they were unsure if they knew exactly what that would mean, "Juniper, you will be my beta." she stated and jumped down. Achilles sighed in relief, and the new beta looked a little shocked. However, she didn't argue. "I'm honoured, she said and stood up as her leader approached. Rerria told them that she was going out to get them as shaman, and that they should be useful when she was gone.

Through the woods she trekked, under fallen tree bridges and over great mounds caused by god-knows-what. Eventually, she reached the tree. The night had began, and she didn't want to get back to late so she made it brief. "Greetings ancestors, I come on behalf of the Ruby Brigade. We request a shaman to care for the sick and guide me. Will you provide us?" she asked.

Rin awoke in his ren and yawned. It was getting dark so rin got up and walked around his territory too see how it looks and how safe it will be. It took some hours as he got back, he was happy as she started to set something up quickly catching something and then eat them.

The moon came out as he sighed and looked down at his paw and walked out of his territory to speak with the starts to get a Shaman. As he did.

Shadow was laying in the newly built nursery. Her pups were due any day now, and she honestly couldn't wait. She loved the small things, running around and playing. Suddenly a wave of pain hit her, "Blade!" she called hoping he would hear her, suddenly the white dog rushed into the nursery.
"What is it Shadow?" he asked urgently his eyes wide with panic
"The pups they're coming!"
"I'll go get Hunter!" he said quickly as he rushed out of the den.
A few moments later, Hunter came in with Blade following close behind. "Ok Shadow I need you to stay calm." he turned to face Blade, "I'm sorry but I need you to leave."
Blade narrowed his yes at him and marched out of the den. He sat at the entrance awaiting the arrival of his pups.

Heavenly Freedom Kennel is kind and caring to their members. They accept everyone, no matter what age or breed they are. These dogs don't like to fight, but will if they are pushed to it. They think before they do anything and talk with each other before a decision is made, sometimes the Alpha will override a decision, but will take the Kennel's opinions in consideration. This Kennel lays in a valley between mountains, so during the heavy rains they do tend to get flooded and have to move to higher ground, but always come back to the valley, so for that reason most dogs here have webbed paws.

Next visit with the ancestors: monday, july seventeenth

Lochlain and Ardala huddled close together in the den that they and the newest recruit, Isak, shared. Isak was a quiet brute, much like Lochlain and Kai and he easily got along with the kennel - one with a quiet mouth found themselves in easy situations when it came to Bear. While the two Wolfhounds huddled together, peeking out the den to watch the sky, the fluffy Bernard sprawled along the den floor, "Wonder when Bear'll make us go out in it." the Bernard muttered, lips flapping up dust as he spoke. Lochlain gazed at the brute and with a nonchalant shrug barked, "The only thing I' sure of is that there's no way we'll get to enjoy this forever."

Soon enough Bear came stomping over and shoved his head into the den, "Alright, you lot. I want Lochlain to go on patrol while the rest of us hunt. Kai is doing Kai things, so leave him be. Let's go." Lochlain raised his voice, "Are you sure, Bear? You haven't gone on a hunting trip since you found me." Bear shrugged and said nothing in response. Taking that as his answer, Lochlain sighed, "Oh well. He nuzzled Ardala for a moment, "Be safe." Ardala scoffed in response, "As if a little rain could hurt me!" Isak laughed lightly at that before hauling himself to his feet to follow after Bear.

Pack of Olympic Forest
Number of Dogs: 6 female, 5 male

Raleigh grinned as she stepped into Bramble's den. The smooth-fox had given birth to 5 healthy pups, and they were all cute as the dickens. They reminded Raleigh of the litters that the humans had taken from her. A shadow passed over her face, and she left for a patrol.

Stitches and his sister, Starkie, had long left the camp, going on a hunt and a catch-up walk. Pebble was hanging around the den, making sure that nothing would hurt his family. Not even the rain would deter him from his post.

With a small grin on his muzzle, Aland bounds happily towards the new Beta and fae, She's unquie for sure I'll have to keep my eye on her he hums at the thought that buzzes around. Aland trots over to Echo, who is talking to Atlas, Echo, Atlas He tips his head to show his respect before solely turning to Echo, I was wondering if you would accompany me on a patrol, the borders are becoming weaker lately he receives a small nod and a soft mutter.

Bear bounces happily beside Pandora, spotting Atlas sitting there looking dazzled, Hey Atlas, do you want me and Pandora to accompany you to the hunting zone? He questions softly.

Loki suddenly heard galloping towards him,he smiled and silently thanked the stars.As the beautiful female Vizsla came,dipping her head with a smirk ''why hello there,alpha,i've heard you needed a Beta..I'll promise to be your faithful companion on ever decision that you make.'' she explained before Loki nodded with amusement ''welcome.I'm alpha Loki,and you're...?'' ''Duci.'' the Vizsla grinned.

A few hours later,Duci was sent out for a patrol.She looked around with amusement before walking around the borders and gates of their territory.

”That’s not how we do things in a pack,” Banjo snarled, scolding one of the pack’s newest Ironteeth. Mercy raised her head, licking her muzzle clean of the blood from the mouse she had caught and devoured in one. Her gaze was hardened, unflinching as Banjo’s teeth snapped close to her cheek.
”I caught it,” the brindled dog said simply, rolling her shoulders in a disinterested shrug. Banjo scoffed.
”We share prey in a pack,” the beta rumbled, squaring his shoulders as he tried to meet Mercy’s hardened stance. His long legs gave him the height on the female, but his muscle left something to be desired. ”We take all prey back to the pack for equal sharing,” Banjo explained, jerking his head over his shoulder as he indicated for Mercy to follow him on the rest of the hunt.
”If you say so,” Mercy muttered with a curl of her lips, unsure if she agreed with the dynamics of pack living. It didn’t seem quite fair having to give up the prey that she caught whilst Dakota and Bandit lazed about on the borders. Banjo cast the Irontooth a wary look.

That evening, when the pack had returned from their various duties, Dakota picked out a rabbit from the fresh-kill pile to divide between the four. The prey hung limply from the alpha’s jaws as she padded over the three dogs, Banjo and Bandit obediently sat back to wait for their cue to eat. Yet before Dakota had a chance to take her share and leave, Mercy had leapt forward, teeth sinking eagerly into the meaty flesh of the rabbit. Dakota reeled back in surprise, white coat bristling at Mercy’s nerve. A deep snarl, one that surprised even Banjo to hear, ripped Dakota’s chest as she knocked into Mercy, unbalancing the slightly smaller female and pinning her on her back before she had a chance to retaliate. Hesitant growls echoed Dakota’s annoyance from Banjo and Bandit as the two females glared each other down, Dakota’s jaws snapping close to Mercy’s throat, whilst Mercy bared her teeth stubbornly back. ”The alpha eats first,” Dakota snapped, tail curling in dominance over her back. It was a couple of moments before Mercy dropped her gaze, slinking out from under Dakota’s hold and stalking away with an annoyed grumble. ”Don’t let her feed today,” Dakota grumbled moodily to the two males, licking at her forelegs where Mercy had managed a couple of nips. She was beginning to doubt whether Mercy would be able to integrate into pack life after all.

Rin and lee got back to there pack as the rest for sometime. The clouds started to come over as Rin sighed and looked at Lee. "Lee?" He said getting up from the floor as Lee looked at him, "Yes?" He responded as he flicked his tail at the side of him, "I need you to go out and see if you can find more dogs around. The weather like this will have dogs hiding away from it." he said as he made his way to his den and Lee nodded getting up from the ground and walked slowly out of the territory.

The tenderpaw crept out of the bush slowly, keeping a keen eye on Florida, "Rain? Does that mean lightning?" the tenderpaw asked, a small shake in his voice, Florida nodded "Well usually, yes, there is lightning.." Florida barked, the tenderpaw gasped a bit, "B-But lightning.. it.. it killed.. her.." the tenderpaw stuttered, Florida looked confused, "Killed who?" he asked, he sat down next to the tenderpaw, breathing at the same pace they were "Mama!" howled the tenderpaw, Florida's eyes widened, "That's awful, I-I'm so sorry, young one.." Florida woofed, the tenderpaw curled up next to Florida's side "M-M-My name is Solo.. w-what's yours?" Solo asked, "I am Florida.. If you want you can follow me back to my camp, you can be my tenderpaw!" Florida woofed, Solo instantly barked yes, Florida and Solo walked back to camp, Solo close behind Florida. When they finally arrived Logan greeted them "Welcome back Florida, glad you made it before the rain!" Logan barked, Solo padded out from behind Florida, "Why I see you brought back a potential tenderpaw!" barked Logan, Belle and Iris padded over to meet this new-comer, "Greetings young one, how old are you?" Belle asked, "Me? Well I'm only 7 moons!" Solo barked, "His name is Solo, he seems really shy.. But I think I can mentor him" Florida woofed, "He seems healthy to me, I thought he would have a sneeze or something!" Iris chuckled, Logan and Belle looked to each other, whispering about Solo, the 2 nodded an agreement and Belle turned back to Florida and Solo, "Florida, you have a tenderpaw now!" Belle woofed, Florida and Solo nudged each other, "I'm starving.. m-may I please have something to eat?" Solo asked, "Sure, on those two-leg tables we have some prey!" Iris barked.

One Moon later

It was in the middle of the morning, everyone relaxing and laying around, Iris had finished a serving of a rabbit, while Florida and Solo were chatting, so were Logan and Belle, "Belle I really like how calm you are.. it's a pleasure to see really, no matter what you just.. always remain calm.. but you still know when to fight!" Logan woofed, "Why thanks, Logan.. nobody ever really complimented me before" Belle grinned, "Well they definitely should!" Logan barked, in the middle of the conversation Iris came up, "Hey Belle, Hello Logan! Is it okay if I go herb-hunting? And also! Florida is gonna go train Solo, that okay?" Iris asked, behind her in the distance were Florida and Solo, looking at Iris and Belle, Belle nodded "Of course!"

Apollo tilted his head upwards, dark brown orbs looking at the darkening sky. It was rather gloomy, and he knew a storm was brewing up in the sky. His gaze momentarily switched to the camp surrounding him. The brute hoped that it would hold up well in the storm. Once again lifting his darker shaded muzzle, the kangal closed his eyes and let himself think for a moment. He wanted to grow his kennel, though was contemplating calling his ancestors and going out on a patrol to look for anyone.
After a few minutes of deep, silent thought, the brute decided that it would be best to call upon his ancestors to help him have the perfect beta. Lifting himself from his haunches, the male than trotted out to the sacred waterfall. His ears pricked forwards as he neared it, the sound of rushing water familiar to the brute. Moving to a large flat rock that was touching the bank of the water, Apollo sat onto it and placed a paw in the shallow water, a ritual he did each time when greeting his ancestors at the waterfall. He dipped his head, then opened his maw to speak. "Greetings, great ancestors. I call upon you today as to ask for a beta. One that is strong, intelligent and reliable and will help to guide me and my kennel in the right direction. Will you grant me of one?" He spoke in his low, rumbling baritone.
