My dog, Sam, also recently got offered to model for a collar company, but I'm not so sure if I should take it. Your thoughts?
The company uses natural resources and advocates for animal rights and the protection of the environment, as well as fair trade.
They have many affiliates from what I've seen, so I'm a bit iffy on what the commission is going to be.
They've already sent me an official email with the contract, commission rates, their expectations, etc... but they state that in order to participate, I must purchase one of their collars first (with a 40% discount that they provided me with) before my dog can model it. Usually, I hear about them sending the collars in the mail for the dogs to model (free of charge, mind you).
My concern is that there won't be really any type of commission. And I know I sound like a greedy freak who's only in it for the money, but we've turned down many companies in the past for this same reason. I just don't know if they're to be trusted.
Everything seems legit except for the payment part. So any opinions/thoughts would be nice!

Is the company Konaleashes or packleashes or something like that? Because those companies are scams. They say you are a model, but ask you to buy the product with a small discount. They litterally send those requests to everyone. That's not what modeling is, if a company actually wants you to model, they send you a free product to test out and review, not just use some fake modeling thing in order to bring in sales.

The brand is called Geopetric. It wasn't really like that. They sent me a contract and everything. But I just have a wary feeling about these guys.
Sam has done modeling in the past, so I can sense something is slightly off and fishy about this company compared to the others. Sokra used to model as well before she passed.

You should talk to a vet. Just call you're vet and talk over the phone. It's free:) and definitely worth it.
Personally, I wouldn't do it because I doubt that running with a dislocated knee cap and not having any way to stop is very comfortable.I can't say if it is OK or not, only a vet can do that.
Keep in mind that all the experience I have with this issue is that link.

maninkari wrote:What are all of your opinions on retractable leashes? They're a bit of a pet peeve of mine, haha.
Hate 'em. Personally, they're better for cats than dogs if you tend to walk your cat lol. I find that they don't give me enough control over my dogs, because for one, the leash part is usually thinner compared to normal leashes (not very sturdy), and on another point, they tend to jam a lot. I'd prefer my dogs to be beside me at all times, not running ahead of me (it's just how I trained them and it provides me a lot more control over the dog, and it shows the dog who's alpha), whereas a retractable leash would allow them to walk
me, not the other way around. They can also put the dog in danger if it's way far ahead of you, not giving you enough time to pull your dog out of that situation. Just my opinion, anyway.
