Omegas are seen as the lowest pack members that are just kept around because of their connections with others. They don't really have a purpose because they are seen as useless really. That's why there is usually only one or two omegas. Ironteeth are the hunters/fighter for the group.

All dogs are going to be an Irontooth, whether they are good at hunting/fighting or not. The only time there will be an omega for Broken Doves would be if a dog is completely unable to fight or hunt, not based on any high skill for it. So, it would be elders, disabled, or injured dogs.

For Misfit Growlers the omega rank is usually for disabled dogs, such as blindness, deaf, crippled, etc. Unless the injury is minor or fixable by the shaman, they will become an omega to prevent their deaths, but can still have mates, pups, and do most of the stuff a regular Irontooth can do minus the hunting and fighting

The second one will probably be set on a fairly large island with human civilization (Like Newfoundland & Labrador) that's keen on fishing. Unpredictable weather, lots of fog and rain, cool summers, warm winters that kind of thing.
Breeds of dogs would be large ones from the hunting, gun dog, water dog, and retrieving groups.
So classic breeds like: Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Newfoundland, ect.
Other Lesser known Retriever breeds: Curly Coated Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Flat-coated Retriever
Lots of Setters: English Setter, Gordon Setter, Irish Setter, Irish red & White Setter
(LARGE) Spaniel Breeds: English Springer Spaniel, Welsh Springer Spaniel, Kooikerhondje, Picardy Spaniel, Stabyhoun, Brittany
Pointer Dogs: German Shorthaired Pointer, English Pointer, Large Münsterländer, Small Münsterländer
The Most Common However are: English Setter, Irish red & White Setter, Large Münsterländer/Small Münsterländer, Stabyhoun, Brittany, English Springer Spaniel, Welsh Springer Spaniel

So uhh... Kennel names pleaaase?? I've got no ideas xD

Also uhh: This pack's pretty matriarchal. Only females can be of power here. The males are just kinda there 'cause they sort of need to be to make puppers happen. They can also provide in protection and food but... main reason is for puppers. xDD

We don't have beta's we have heirs. Females of interest, or one of the current alpha's daughters.
The Alpha does not ever take on a mate. She only has breeding partners. She belongs to her people. She can of course have favourites amongst her partners but she never takes on a mate.

Reminds me of Chowilawu, it means joined together by water.
It's the name of my CaP pack. Maybe I could do The Chowilawu Kennels?

As an explanation for the odd name it could be what her ACTUAL kennel was called. (She came from a breeder!)
The name was circulated around alot amongst the nursing mothers the breeder owned and it was just accepted as the name of their ancestor's pack/kennel. Hmm I like this!! (It can also be why they call themselves a kennel rather than pack!)
