Thanks so much nickjr ;w;
When the name sheet is filled, I just need to copy and paste it to excel, then upload it to dropbox.

I could definitely add something that shows the chi test results (along with an explanation for stat-noobs like me xD)

You have to remember a lot of CS users are children who would not have been taught statistics yet, so they wouldn't know about statistical relevance. I think the raw data is fine to link for people interested in the actual stats, but for the general public on CS we need to interpret the information and provide it in an easy-to-understand format for them.

My original plan was to use CS posts with images and provide examples in addition to the % figures such as "if you adopted 8 Sorbets, on average 2 would be pink, 2 would be green, 2 would be yellow, 2 would be blue". I think that might help for litters like the sundogs to make it clear how much rarer a sunjewel is compared to a sunback?

The assumptions I made for cross-litter comparisons was that each litter had an equal chance to be adopted. So I weighted litters based on how many outcomes there were. For example there are 2 galaxies and 4 sorbets, so I assumed twice as many sorbet puppies might be rereleased as galaxies. But that's a huge assumption and potentially incorrect, so my calculations based off that may be irrelevant. I think the only way we can get any across-litter data would be through the rerelease data, although we can surmise that July pets at least were tampered with after the more common ones like sunback started going OMGSR that one year (potentially in comparison to Augusts but idk??)

You're right, I definitely forgot about the CS general population and what I'm doing with my life hahaha... OTL

I really like your idea, as it also educational by teaching younger members about interpreting numbers! You should definitely go forth with it with rares list pets at least (which is what people really care about anyways :P). I would love to help with the posts if you need it!

Good news is that nickjr and I are almost done! Just need to fix a few litter names, and then I can send the data to you. I look forward to seeing your conclusions about the data :D

Aaaah, exciting!!!

Once we get the results I will try to run some more Chi tests on the data, see if we can work out across-litter stats, and run all results past Nickjr (and any other people with tertiary statistics knowledge? Please volunteer!)

I would definitely love some help getting all the posts assembled with the final results. We can use this thread to draft up a template for how each litter/pet should be presented, then multiple people can use the raw results to help make the posts using that template which we can then compile into a single thread once all the list pets are done. Does that sound good? c:

Sorry to just into this conversation, but we will be counting pet ids again, right? That's about all I could help with since I know absolutely nothing about statistics. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Here's the file (both advents and rerelease 2008)!
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wq6xnk8kse72gf8/advent_rerelease_2008.xlsx?dl=1

Let me know if you find anything glaringly wrong with the data. I had a bit of trouble with names with certain special characters, but that should be fixed.

Special thanks to nickjr for helping me out with the names, and for going through the advent 2008 thread to find which pets were released together. Did you know that the snowflake dogs had their adoption limit accidentally set to 15? it was supposed to be 2 lol

@kee. I wrote a script that does the pet counting for us! So now we can get the data faster :D

@Solloby Yesss that sounds good! Can't wait to get started 8D

Thanks Law!

Don't worry Kee, there will be post-counting tasks that don't require statistical knowledge coming up c:

It's exciting that our project is nearing the end. All of this information will be super interesting for a lot of users I bet! I'm interested to see the final results myself once we get all the rerelease data and add it to our July - Sept stuff <3

I hope we can calculate across-litter statistics but if we can't, at least we will have intralitter stats.

Any way you can move the angel dog to be next to the string/paint horses from advent 2008? If not that's fine haha

Also I'm seeing some interesting stuff in that data o: definitely want to look at 2009 rerelease, especially after reading through some of the very first December 18 forum posts...

Stuff to keep in mind:

All warrior cats, Tess horses (except palomino from September birthday), and front page butterfly wolves were individually adoptable

Individual rats should be marked on spreadsheet

Advent pets are grouped by who they came out with, except for the angel dog and string/paint horses (they came out on the same day)

Some of the pets in the rerelease data are extended release pets, so they're actually part of the original adoption set for those pets (all 2008 second gens, etc)

Edit: also, October litter with 9 pets were from one newborn on the adoption page; had a tricolor blanket; you got a solid color blanket upon adoption; I guess it doesn't matter for rerelease but it would be nice to see those nine pups together
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

It's actually a lot of trouble to change the pet #s, but it should be fine because it's marked as part of the same litter with the horses >.<

Good to know! I suppose the 2009 warrior cats were released individually as well?

edit+bumping:

Here's the data from rerelease 2009: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wovdp140davj1 ... .xlsx?dl=1

All of the pets have been assigned a number, and you can see the images using my pet statistics site. I went through and named the popular pets (dogs + listies) :D
Shameless plug; You can now group by litter and lineart! The sorting function works, but all the numbers have been set to 0 so it isn't very useful right now.

Anyways... interesting tidbits:
- The UR apple, UR purple horse, and White malk dragon had about (ish) the same release amounts.
- All rainbow foals turned into rainbow manes

Super cool law! It looks super rad and neat! Especially that site, man that lay out xD

So what is the plan on what we are going to do with the data? Make a new list is still on the table or..?
