Poppypaw

The tortoiseshell she-cat rapidly licked her sore paw, drawing her wetted paw over her mandible. Her claw was torn, and her back leg was at awkward angle. Poppypaw had slipped in the mud as she tried to crawl her way out of camp, and her father, had picked her up like a kit and carried her up the hill. She stared at his now-brown pelt, and his exhausted eyes. She limped over to him, pressing her body to his, continuing to groom her battered pelt. Her leg was numb, but there was still a wall of pain in her hind quarters. She flinched as she lowered herself to the wet ground, settling on her back, sticking out her injured leg. She closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of the rain and her panicked clan-mates, and somewhere, distantly, she felt her father begin to groom her.

Russetflame gaped at his injured kit, his muddy pelt twitching. He had escaped mostly unscathed, besides a long scratch from a falling tree branch, but his deep guilt of being unable to protect his Poppypaw dug at his conscious. The tom began to ferociously lap at her blood stained pelt, and more gently, he soothingly licked her splintered claw. He felt useless, unable to ease her pain. His russet eyes flashed panic and grief. Her mother deserves to know we're okay. Surely she's heard of the storm by now. But he could not leave his clan, or his kit right now. His old-mate was no longer in his life, and Poppypaw's health was of no one but the clan's concern anymore. His kit could not live the life of a warrior, if Russetflame's paw was in two worlds.

The slim kittypet's maw opened, as he breathed heavy pants. His claws dug into the mud as he hauled himself up the steep slope. He relied heavily on his nostrils to lead him, knowing his visionaries were useless in the unfamiliar land. His once well groomed pelt was smeared with mud, masking his twoleg scent. His long tassle swayed, attempting to balance his stumbling steps. Thunder sounded somewhere in the distant, causing the tom cat to flinch. The kittypet grunted in frustration, before hauling himself to the top of the hill. He could see the littered beach, and beyond that, he smelt the well-rumored and well-talked about ocean cats. I'm close.

Beepaw

Beepaw's eyes followed her paw as it moved down along her face. Nessa was barely touching her so it caused her fur to tingle a little bit, and her tail tip twitched, less in agitation and more in excitement. "Will they be back soon? I'd love to meet them." Beepaw spoke up vibrantly, then retreated inwardly. "Unless they don't take too kindly to strangers, I just want to help. Especially Falcon, he deserves it." Beepaw mewed, looking out of the den she could not see Falcon but his burnt scent still lingered a little bit and it was comforting in this unfamiliar place, as strange as it seemed.

Beepaw felt a dampness wash over her, discomfort stretching into every limb of her body and she felt her body shiver, panic overtaking her. "Nessa, something isn't right" Beepaw mewed softly. The two cats were already on high ground, as well as Falcon, she assumed they would be safe but it didn't stop the feeling of dread.

Weaselfang

Weaselfang watched as Marbledream came up with Tideclaw, and Cloudkit sought her mother for comfort rather than the deputy. An understandable thing, though it reminded him strongly of Bearface as a kitten, under his paws and wishing for comfort from him over the littlest of things, uncomparing to this huge event. Weaselfang's head swung towards the black she-cat before he could say anything Mintstar was to the female and Weaselfang came to stand next to her, looking Mintstar over carefully. She didn't particularly look well, she had lost a life and he felt his heart sink. How many more? Would she be okay? Would she grow sick and lose another? It seemed more like a horror to him.

Bearface

Bearface lifted her head, touching her nose to Rainwhisker's cheek and then to Palelight's as well when she came by. The she-cat had left a bundle of herbs for her, something she had been able to salvage from the flooding. The she-cat lifted her head to the herbs, pushing them closer with her paw, keeping her kitten close. Rainwhisker had no idea where Vulturetooth was with her other kit. It was safe to assume he was dead at this point, she didn't want to see his bloated body or her kits.

Bearface bent her head down to the herbs, taking them into her maw and swallowing them. They left a sour, bitter, disgusting taste in her mouth. Or maybe that was just her feelings boiling from her heart and brain to her mouth, venom she would spit in her words if she could.

Broken's silver eyes widened at the new cat who said that she was leader. "I-I'm sorry, I just wanted to get to high ground and when I scented other cats I figured that's where I should go," she said, feeling very small compared to the authority of the leader. When the other cat, a strong looking tom came up beside Mintstar, she shrunk down again. "I... I am Broken," she added on.

Tideclaw watched them silently, figuring that he shouldn't say anything to add to their assessment of the young loner.

Once they were high enough up Gingerleaf stopped with the others, her mouth open to suck in much-needed air while she glances around the gathered cats. She can see now that a good number are missing and she can only hope that it's because they found high ground somewhere else.

Even when they made it to a safe height Silverclaw was a bit wary about leaving Fadedshadow to herself, while he knew she might want to grieve alone and might snap at him now or later he decided to take the chance. He didn't say anything to her as they stopped, simply sat down close enough to where she knew he was there if needed. Honestly, he was too tired to do much else, fighting the water had taken a lot out of most everyone.

Swiftshadow was just outside the camp entrance when the the typhoon came. The black tom never once showed fear until now. He stood there frozen for a moment before quickly heading to the nearest tree. High ground would help. If the tree was up rooted he would at least have something to hold onto instead of being dragged under the water.

The light colored she-cat was out of camp when the typhoon hit, but still got hit with it. She slipped under the water a few times before finally catching herself on a log. There she clung on for dear life, waiting the typhoon out.

The pair watched as Fernkit returned to Shadefern, glad to see the kit making it to the young tom safely. Firepaw let out a yawn, waiting to see what the damage was. Icepaw had curled up in a small ball around his sister, keeping them both warm.

Fadedshadow let out a heavy sigh and looked over at Silverclaw, grateful to have someone there beside her. She might not have been close to any other cats, but Silverclaw was probably the only other cat she really spoke to. "Thank you...: she meowed softly, sitting up and stretching a bit.

⇨ Amberpaw's paw throbbed with pain. She had slipped on a wet rock while climbing to safety, and now it hurt to put pressure on it. She was crouched down, twitching with fear until her brother appeared beside her. Rubbing her head against his shoulder, she carefully looked at him. "Are you okay?" She asked with wide eyes, worried that there might be something wrong. She let out a breath of relief as he shook his head, and looked around at those around them. Everyone was shaken up, and to her dismay, there were cats that didn't appear.

⇨ Everything had happened so quickly; one minute he was bugging his mentor, the next they were all scrambling for higher ground. His breathing was heavy by the time he got to his sister. He was happy to see she had made it up there in time. He already knew that some cats didn't make it, and tried to swallow down the sadness. Pressing his nose into her fur for a moment, he then noticed that she didn't put one paw on the ground. Immediately, he was concerned. "Amberpaw, are you hurt?"

Jaypaws jaw throbbed as she finished climbing the hill. She was young, and in pain, but she had to do her job. Padding over to where Cloverpaw, Fernkit, shadefern and wildfire sat. "Are you guys ok?" She asked, mainly looking at Cloverpaw. "I need to check everyone, and I'm going to start with you four."
