Chirping Foxes [2.0] - Open

Chirping foxes' name is sort of a misnomer - they're not actually foxes at all, though they look very similar. A species all on their own, chirping foxes are called such due to their foxlike appearance and their unique form of communication -- they "talk" primarily through chirps, clicks and keens. These false foxes are quite talkative, as well, and you can't be around one without hearing an earful of their chatter.
Chirping foxes are omnivorous, but they mostly eat insects and small animals -- animals smaller than them, at least, as they are very tiny. Average foxes are only about one foot tall from paw to shoulder, but they can be very long. Their tail itself is usually about as long as their body is, if not longer! It is also fairly strong and prehensile, strong enough that they can hold themselves up in a high area with their tail. They also don't weigh very much, with the average being around ten pounds. They aren't fragile as their appearance might hint, however; they are surprisingly resilient to injury and tend to be very agile.
The most striking feature of a chirping fox is their interesting set of ears -- or, what appears to be ears. These 'false ears' operate like a funnel, moving around to pinpoint where sound is originating from. For this reason, these foxes are known to have amazingly accurate hearing.

[3] You are allowed a maximum of 5 Chirping Foxes. Staff may own up to 7. (Rule subject to change.)
[4] Chirping Foxes are not to be sold for more than they were obtained for. (Rule subject to change).
[5] Follow contest rules and please do not try to take advantage of the contest holders (blackmail, etc). Be sportsmanlike, even if you lose!
[6] You have complete creative freedom when it comes to your fox's character, such as personality, history, etc. You may also give them powers, and feel free to anthropomorphize or humanize your fox. However, please do not change the design or anatomy. Adding certain things like scars, injuries, accessories, etc. is fine.
[7] Please keep watch for new rules! New rules WILL be announced, but it is up to you to make sure you follow all of them!

Artist Rules
[1] Please tell me before you make a fox based off of copyrighted material!
[2] Make sure you use the tags (UFA, RU, etc.) and color references correctly.
[3] For now, foxes cannot be sold for currency. This will change in the future if the species gets more popular.
[4] Please make sure you number the fox correctly.
[5] You must make at least 3 common foxes (no mutations) before you can make a fox with uncommon traits, and at least 6 commons before you can make a fox with rare traits. You cannot make foxes with very rare or mythic rarities.

Rarities
Chirping foxes can come with different mutations, and, of course, some mutations are rarer than others. Some of them can seen in a large portion of the fox population, while others are practically one in a million.

[ Common ]
Common mutations are simply the base mutations of a chirping fox (these do not change the lines). These make up about half (50%) of the fox population.

[ Uncommon ]
Uncommon mutations make up about 25% of the chirping fox population. These include:
- short (head) hair - nose edits - fluff edits - eye edits - small horns -
- small claws -

[ Rare ]
Rare mutations make up about 15% of the chirping fox population. These include:
- ear shape edits - tail edits - long (head) hair - back manes - muzzle edits -
- scales - large horns - large claws -

[ Very Rare ]
Very rare mutations make up around 7% of the chirping fox population. These include:
- ear # edits - multiple horn placements - small wings -

[ Mythic ]
Mythic mutations are the rarest of all, making up around 3% of the chirping fox population. Seeing them around is truly a sight to see! There are so few of these mutations that we just categorize them when they are found.
So far, there have been no mythic mutations.
