She peered out of the den, figuring that Cherrynose could manage. She did push some herbs needed to the front of the den, just in case. She turned to Howlfur. "What really happened? Meadowclan has some pretty good warriors, but I hardly believe your story. Unless, you attacked them." She curled her fluffy tail around her milky cream paws and looked blatantly at Howlfur.

Howlfur had actually just sat down, then turned it into a comfortable lay, completely out of the Medicine Cats ways. Though, he perked his ears towards Berryfall, his eyes slightly focusing on the commotion going on with a Queen. "Hmm." He grunted to himself. He didn't notice Berryfall asked him a question until he felt the shecats presence nearby and quickly looked over at the Shecat, his ears perking. "You didn't catch what i said earlier?" He said gently, as his eyes were just a bit warm, but still very frozen looking. "I caught the shecat on the territory, asked them a few questions, and, well i did yes, i did attack them first. But she was threatening to start something between me and her." He shrugged his shoulders. "She may have wanted to get me out of the clan. I prefer this clan over others." He snorted lightly, twitching his whiskers.

She stifled a snort. "Try not to fight. If you ever come across her, just leave. If she comes onto the territory, we will know." She drew her tongue over her paw. "You know, if Acornpaw had seen you, you might still be bleeding. I mean, she's a great cat, got a mind to be a medicine cat but, she's not too far into her training. And with Cherrynose being so hard on her, I'm worried she won't advance." She looked out onto the camp, her gaze trying to reach past the enterance. "Do you happen to know who this she-cat was?"

Howlfur let out an abrupt rude snort, dragging his tongue over his nose. "With how hard that old cat is being on Acornpaw, i don't think she'll ever get close to advancing to greater things." He softly growled out, but the rudeness faded slowly and he became nice again. Softly sighing, he dragged his paw over his ear and grunted. "It's not me to tell other cats who to become and who to not become, but..." He trailed off, then sighed and just shrugged. He perked his ears, then almost instantly hissed out, "No, i don't." Simple as that, he turned his head and continued to watch what was going on outside the den, flicking his tail. The toyger wasn't planning on saying his sisters name out loud just yet.

The she-cat watched the tom's gaze abruptly turn. She slid her eyes away from the cat, trying not to press. Her anxiety was already playing up, what with Aspenwing's kitting, Goldenstar's possible whitecough. The den was still a mess. She scrapped up moss bits and spoors. She tossed them into a pile along with the old herbs she had managed to pluck out. She shook herself, trying to dislodge dirt and pebbles from her fur. "Let's hope that Cherrynose hasn't already snapped Darkear's head right off."

The tom nodded his head. He felt bad for kinda hissing at the shecat, so he stood up and meowed, "Since i can't go anywhere, how about you teach me something about Medicine? And maybe while your at it, i can help organize this place." He glanced around the den. It... Was pretty messy. He flicking his eyes towards Berryfall, patiently awaiting her answer. "I can already tell were some things go, just tell me and i'll help you. Cherrynose is busy, and i'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind a bit for the help." He shrugged his shoulders lamely, flicking his ears again and twitching his whiskers.

"OK." She nodded and smiled. She pulled down a marigold head. "This is marigold. You chew it into a pulp and spit it on wounds to stop infection from setting in. We use it a lot. It grows in sunny areas." She pushed it closer to him so he could study it. She looked out again for Cherrynose, but turned back to him. She pulled out a single dried oak leaf. "This is a dried oak leaf, you chew it into a thick pulp, it also stops infection." She had to stop herself from letting out a chuckle.

Howlfur watched her, then looked at the Herb. Herbs... Weren't his specialty, but he could definitely get something about them through his thick, hard headed skull. He nosed the herb, then lightly sniffed the herb, the smell a strange one for him. He glanced up at Berryfall as she showed him the dried oak leaf, he chuckled at that too. "Heh, is everything helpful with infections?" He grinned at her, then went back to studying the oak leaf, getting a get scent of the leaf and "updating" his mind to recognize the smell when it came.

Cherrynose finally emerged from the nursery, looking mildly put out but, in an odd way, satisfied. Ashenwing had her litter successfully and with little fanfare or intervention on his part. Once assuring the she-cat and her frazzled mate that their kits were healthy he’d promptly shoved the raspberry leaves at the proud queen, picked up the unused chervil and left them to bask in their new family. A part of him humored a faint spark of jealousy toward their happiness but he didn’t let the feeling linger. It was dangerous to want things he couldn’t have. The cat crossed the camp, making a bee-line to the medic’s hollow to find Howlfur pawing around marigold petals and Berryfall watching him do so. It was an odd scene. “Teaching a warrior about herbs?” Cherrynose sounded amused if nothing else. “Hmph, if it gets past that thick skull I suppose it’d be good for everyone.” He meowed as he returned the chervil to its place, giving his back to the pair. “The more he knows, the fewer times we’ll have him darkening the hollow.”
