Crowcloud chuckled. "And once you've learned how to use 'em, everyone wants you," he said, remembering his own experience as a loner. "Keep up the good work," he said kindly.

"I hope this doesn't become our problem," said Dustpaw evenly. She was starting to really dislike this molly and could tell that her littermates felt the same way, judging by Adderstream's flicking tail and Barleystream's narrowed eyes.

Dawnstorm's tail twitched. "May your clanmates be well soon," he said. "Forestclan's been doing great!" he continued. "My mate's kits were born a little over a moon ago, and they're wonderful." He purred, remembering how they tried to keep him from going to the Gathering. While they were too young to talk, they simply sat on him until Snowfoot and Fleckstorm had pulled them off. "Not much else has been going on."

Morningstar is open

Morningstar leapt calmly onto the great rock, ears twitching slightly as he glanced at the other leaders. The majority of the leaders were familiar although he rarely spoke to them. Morningstar had always preferred to listen rather than speak. He got information without having to say anything at all about Caveclan.

Woolyfur is open

Woolyfur sat down with the other deputies.

"Perhaps." Shadedleaf responded, narrowing her eyes. Bouldershade must be the Briarclan deputy. "I hope to see you as well. If not me, then Cloudpool. Bye!"

Rowanfur + Ebonywing tagged with Frigidrose(Leafclan), Forestclan, Duskpaw

The pair sat down in the midst of the clans, close enough to keep an eye on Duskpaw. Ebonywing had expressed her worries about Duskpaw earlier and the pair had decided to keep an eye on him. He was such a nervous tom and without the other apprentices, Duskpaw felt ill at ease. Ebonywing had assured him he'd be fine, but he'd still seemed worried.
Eventually, they noticed the argument forming and the pair moved close enough to listen. Her expression serious, Ebonywing gave Frigidrose a hard stare. "Do you need something or are you just planning on trying to make trouble during a gathering?" Rowanfur's voice was cool.

Chiveclaw + Hawkfeather are open

The toms sat side by side, waiting paitently for the gathering to start. Studying the cats around them, Hawkfeather wondered if he ought to talk to anyone. Perhaps if he was approached, he'd be glad to chat but for now, he was content to sit with Chiveclaw.

Duskpaw tagged with Forestclan, Frigidrose of Leafclan, Rowanfur + Ebonywing

Duskpaw blinked at her, confused and a little bit frightened. "T-They're just trying to help! Don't snap at them!" The tom glanced over to see that Rowanfur and Ebonywing had drifted close enough to listen, his mentor looking serious. Rowanfur confronted the molly, making it clear she wasn't happy with the way Frigidrose was acting.

Orchidstar smiled at Emberstar as she explained Leafclan's territory, before twitching an ear towards the announcements being made. "I'm afraid I've got to go. Thank you for chatting with me!" Orchidstar padded toward the edge of the leader's rock, stifling a nervous whimper as she faced the gathering to make her announcements.
"Greetings to all of you. I am Orchidstar, leader of Gorseclan. Me and my deputy Batwing are glad to meet you all, and I hope Gorseclan will be among you for many moons to come. That is all, may Starclan light your path!"
Orchidstar stepped back, finally taking in a breath. She decided to hang around to listen to the other announcements, attentively watching the other leaders.

Emberstar gave a small nod to the GorseClan leader as she left to make her announcements. When she was finished, the spoted tabby took her place. "LeafClan has been doing well. We have plenty of food and herbs. Sadly one of our patrols was recently confronted by a badger, resulting in the death of a young warrior. We are planning to soon search for any other badgers that may be lurking in our territory. I would like to offer an alliance with GorseClan. That is all." As she padded back to where she had been sitting before, she noticed a small commotion below. She recognized the voice of Frigidrose. Dear StarClan... she thought.

"Same in LeafClan," he mewed. He turned his attention to the leaders once he realized they were beginning the announcements.

"That would be great!" Appleheart mewed, a large smile spreading across his face. "You're welcome to choose either one to bring - maybe we could meet at the border tomorrow night? As for names... 'Tawny' comes to mind for the ginger. You can name the calico."

At a bit of a loss of what to say next, Patchthorn gave a small nod, awkwardly turning his gaze elsewhere.

Frostpath frowned a little when she heard the BriarClan deputy's announcement. It was a bit puzzling to her that Cloudstar had simply decided to send his deputy in his place this time. Usually the leader would only remain at camp if something was wrong. She was about to ask Badgerfall about it, but changed her mind, thinking it best not to pry.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. My son just died, so if you could be so nice as to cut me a little slack, that would be fantastic," Frigidrose snapped at the CaveClan warriors.

Raggedtail dipped his head to Honeystar. "In place of Squirrelstar, I accept your alliance." He mewed before flashing her a smile. "I hope we can work together in the future." Raggedtail got to his paws after Emberstar finished her announcements. He stepped forward, quickly looking for Brindlecloud's calico coat in the crowd. The medicine cat looked up at him and gave him a nod.

"Tell them." She called up to him. Raggedtail nodded to her before looking at all of the Clan cats, feeling his stomach start to tighten with nervousness.

"As many of you know, I am not the leader or deputy of Echoclan. Squirrelstar and Smokespeck are both ill, I will explain this in a bit. First, I want to tell you the happy news in Echoclan. Sparrowflight, Gorsebird and Icefang have become warriors. Strawberrypaw, Beepaw and Acornpaw finished their assessment yesterday so they will become warriors shortly. Snakepaw, Sandpaw, Darkpaw and Brightpaw have become apprentices. Brindlecloud has taken on a new medicine cat apprentice, Crowpaw. Witheredstalk has given birth to Hemlockheart's kits, Bubblekit and Foamkit. Mossvine has had Smokespeck's kits as well, but they haven't been named yet."

Raggedtail paused, breathing in deeply as he tried to think of how to phrase the bad news he had. "We lost a young, brave warrior. Shrewtail passed away a few sunrises ago from a mysterious illness that has spread in Echoclan. There are currently five members of Echoclan with this disease, including Squirrelstar and Smokespeck. I tell you this not to open Echoclan up to attacks, but to tell you of a possible sickness that could spread."

He stood there awkwardly for a moment before stepping back to join the leaders and let the next leader step up.

"I'll bring them both tomorrow so you can meet them. Witheredstalk is taking care of them for me." Brindlecloud mewed with a smile. "I want to name the dilute calico Lavenderkit. I've always loved Lavender." She purred. "I miss you."

Crowpaw's chest puffed out in pride. "I certainly will." He mewed, his tail swishing back and forth happily in the grass. "Umm.. have you found a herb that you haven't heard of before?" The black tom asked, his ears pinning back slightly against his head. "I'm trying to find more herbs that could possibly help with the sickness some of my clanmates have."

"I love kits, they're so cute." Bramblingflight cooed, her tail curling over her paws. Gorsebird and Icefang flashed each other knowing looks, to which Bramblingflight bared her teeth briefly at them. She looked back at Dawnstorm. "What did you name your kits?"

Sandpaw laughed loudly at Mudpaw's joke. She shook her head no at his question. "I'm too nervous to explore the clearing by myself, especially with so many cats here." She replied.

"I'm sorry you lost your Clan." Snakepaw mewed sadly. "You haven't been able to find any of your old Clan?"

Morningstar is open

Morningstar stepped forward when it was his turn to speak. "Caveclan has been fortunate this past moon. We've grown considerably, with 3 new warriors and a queen joining us. Mistfall, Tigerjaw, and Willowtail have become warriors and Lilystem and Larkfeather are very close to kitting. Prey is running well and we are well. That is all." He stepped back, allowing the next leader to speak.
The commotion below caught his eye, and looking down, Morningstar found Rowanfur, Ebonywing, and Duskpaw with several Forestclan cats and a Leafclan cat. Sure Rowanfur and Ebonywing could handle the situation, he didn't involve himself yet. He'd watch until it became clear he was needed.

Woolyfur is open

Woolyfur sat down with the other deputies.

"Perhaps." Shadedleaf responded, narrowing her eyes. Bouldershade must be the Briarclan deputy. "I hope to see you as well. If not me, then Cloudpool. Bye!"

Rowanfur blinked, looking a bit taken back but after a quick exchanging a quick glance with Ebonywing, her gaze fixed on Frigidrose. "I'm sorry about that. That's awful but that is no excuse to go and make trouble among the other clans." Ebonywing spoke this time, her voice calm but firm.

Chiveclaw + Hawkfeather are open

Duskpaw watched the older warriors anxiously. Rowanfur and Ebonywing could easily handle the situation but a glance towards the leaders rock showed that Morningstar and Emberstar had noticed the situation. "Why did she come if she just lost her son?" He whispered to Dustpaw, the worry in his voice evident. He'd have thought she'd want to stay back in camp, mourning.

Jinxstar took his turn with his own announcements.

"Hello to all the new clans tonight, I am Jinxstar of Jinxclan, and our clan is doing very well. We are growing very fast, getting more and more new cats everyday and we have several new litters as well. Our prey is running good, Our warriors are strong and healthy, and our territory is well guarded."

Jinxstar gave a respectful bow to the rest of the gathered cats before stepping back and making room for another clan leader to step forward.

Ashleaf felt silently, eager to get home and go to bed.

Honeystar was the next to speak. "Forestclan has been well," she said. "We welcome more warriors, both from within and from outside. We are proud to say that Snowfoot has given birth to four kits--Bramblingkit, Brightkit, Patchkit, and Tipkit--and that Duckpelt's litter has earned their warrior names of Barleystream, Boulderpelt, and Adderstream." She glanced at Briarstar. "We have also accepted the offer of an alliance with Dawnclan."

Birchnose nodded and also turned her attention to the leaders. She felt a pang of panic as Echoclan described an unknown illness, and hoped that it wouldn't spread further and that their leader and deputy would be alright.

Crowcloud shook his head. "No," he said regretfully. "I've been around Forestclan's territory several times and I just see the same herbs. I'll keep looking, though, because it might be a leafbare plant."

"I don't know," murmured Dustpaw. "Her leader was, well, foolish."

"Well, maybe you shouldn't have come," said Boulderpelt, trying to remain calm. "And...may he rest in Starclan." She was really at a loss, as no one in her clan had experienced death--maybe with the exception of Grayfur--and wanted for this drama to simply be over.

Dawnstorm smiled. Just then, Honeystar spoke, calling out the names of his kits along with the rest of the news. "The mollies are Bramblingkit and Tipkit, and the toms are Patchkit and Brightkit," he said. "They're only a couple of moons old."

"Do you know where we're going?" Applekit growled from her position at the back of their little travel group. Honestly, she wanted to go back to camp, but she couldn't hide her curiosity of the outside and her tiny spark of excitement that came with the kit mind. The outside was completely different from the camp. But the young moly was unsure if she wanted to mark that as a good thing or a bad thing. And it was cold... so cold... "Of course I don't!" Beechkit laughed from leading her siblings. "Just trusting my instincts here. Though I do know that in-stinks out here. Haha!" Applekit rolled her eyes before letting her gaze fall upon Cloverkit. The young tom was looking to the ground, taking every step carefully as if it were some complicated math problem. Occasionally he'd mutter to himself about the route they were taking as if he were making a mental map of the territory. Applekit had to worry about his future as a warrior.. "A river! Cool! Let's go play!" Beechkit suddenly shouted excitedly before running off to the river. Cloverkit looked up quickly panicked as he chased after her to stop her. "No Beechkit! I can't swim!... You can't swim!" He wailed. Applekit walked after them slowly, simply shaking her head. "She's gonna drown..."

Barkknot flashed the departing Thistlethorn a quick grin, murmuring "I will," as the she-cat turned away. But with her eyes scanning the Aspenclan border to no avail her smile quickly faded. Anxiety was beginning to creep in. What if he didn't come? What if a patrol found her and Nettlefoot and attacked them? What if Nettlefoot grew bored and her precious day was wasted on a tom who never showed? "Tanglestep?" She dared to mew across the invisible scent line, then quickly clamping her jaw shut upon realizing how stupid announcing her visit might be.

Asptail hadn't been out in the woods since...well who knew how long. After being cooped up in camp for so many moons, the medicine cat had developed an aversion to open spaces. To possibility. To the unknown. But his mother had asked him, practically begged him to take Pigeonpaw and Smoothpetal out to find more herbs. Sunheart had nearly died, and had used up the last of the life-saving tansy they had stored. Even now, Asptail couldn't make his professional opinion match up with his heart; he wasn't sure how long Sunheart could keep going. So now, with Pigeonpaw by his side -Smoothpetal had gone off to spend time with Webwing familiarize herself with the territory- the tom was forced back into the sparce woods to face his fears of not being present.

"Asptail? What're we lookin' for?" Asptail snapped out of his thoughts at his apprentice's words. She was so medically gifted sometimes he forgot that she still relied on him to teach her. He could swear half the things Pigeonpaw knew he hadn't taught her, like how foxglove seeds could cause paralysis- he certainly didn't impart knowledge like that! Fumbling for an answer that would allow him to maintain his self respect the tom came up with, "Herbs," and then realizing just how bad that sounded, added in a salty tone, "What did you think we were looking for; prey?" The apprentice's face fell and her eyes fixed on her paws, but Asptail wasn't about to apologize. Snapping was his way, and if she couldn't deal with that then-

The sound kitten's wail and scurrying feet caught in the two cat's ears. "What the- Pigeonpaw come on!" Asptail picked up the pace, trotting quickly towards the river with his apprentice not far behind him. His face was a mask of well disguised self-loathing and plain irritation. What were those kits doing out of camp? Didn't Starlingthroat have a responible bone in his body? "Warblerkit, Lupinekit I swear-" But it wasn't either of them, or even Chrysanthemumkit. It was three kits Asptail had never seen before. "What're you rabble doing here? Get back to whence you came you little scamps!"
