Pebblefang purred when his brother came back to sit with him. "I'll pray for him, too...", he agreed and sent a short prayer to StarClan. Then his voice turned aggressive: "If anything has done something to him, I'll kill this animal with my own claws, no matter how much my bones will hurt."

Dandeliontail

Dandeliontail felt saddened by that. Why would anyone want to harm Shortclaw? He didn't know what to say. Nowadays, Pebblefang and Dandeliontail led fairly simple and relaxed lives, and seeing Pebblefang so aggressive worried him deeply. "Well, let's hope the search party finds him soon... and safe and sound..." he said

The gray tom nodded slowly. I have a bad feeling about this... StarClan knows if he's okay... He hoped Shortclaw indeed was safe and sound which was how his brother verbalized it. "Do you think it's possible that something happened to Shortclaw?", he asked with a calm voice, but at the same time he was drilling his claws into the ground, trying to control his aggression.

He looked over at his brother and sighed. He could see how mad Pebblefang was. "Well, something could of happened... But Shortclaw is smart, he isn't reckless enough to..." he cut himself off before he finished his sentence. Realizing that in the worst case, everyone in Thunderclan could be in danger.

The warriors den was notably empty when Spiritwish woke up, but she didn't care enough to worry.
Everyone's probably just on patrol or being assigned to a patrol. She sighed softly. She might as well make herself useful and see if Shortclaw had anything she could do. She expected to see a crowd of warriors in the center of the clearing like every morning, but what she actually saw was emptiness. She shrugged, deciding that the patrols had already gone out, and instead turned around and went back to her nest.
If anyone needs me, then they can come to me. She huffed, closing her eyes.

It made Pebblefang a bit nervous that Dandeliontail was cutting off his own sentence, so he completed it himself in his head: ... to what? To attack a fox all by himself? To walk over a thunderpath without paying enough attention? Now he realized the worst possible case. Shortclaw could be... "...to be too careless in a dangerous situation and get seriously hurt or die?", he spoke out loudly, but not loud enough to be heard by the kits.
