Grasskit yawns and opens him eyes just in time to see his sister, riverkits, tail disappear out of the nursery. He stretches and quickly walks outside, padding over to his sister and his denmate "hey riverkit and sapkit!" he greets them, smiling

"Sure." Riverkit mewed to Sapkit, sniffing at the piece of prey a few times so she could tell what it was before she took a bite. She turned her blind gaze towards Grasskit when she heard him calling hers and Sapkit's name. "Hey Grasskit!" She mewed happily.

"Sapkit, are you okay?" Riverkit asked, setting back on her haunches.

[sparks!]

"Hey Grasskit!" she squeaked. Thank goodness my friends are with me! she thought. "Also, it's just, my daddy, I don't know where he is. He's always up when I wake up. Something has to be wrong," she replied to Riverkit. Shortclaw had always been there to wake her up. He always was! Something has to be wrong, it just had to be!

Dandeliontail walked out of the elder's den and stretched his old bones. He saw three kits already out and disucussing. He approached them, crowched down and asked "What are you three up to?"

ferntail stretched, and climbed out of her nest to see the kits chattering in the clearing. her whiskers twitched amusedly. what's weird, is that shortclaw wasn't up already, sending patrols... was dawn patrol even out yet?

Smokewhisker awoke, refreshed. He had slept a long time. That thought made him feel confused. Why had he slept so long? Hadn't Shortclaw sent out the patrols yet? He looked around and saw his mate was awake. "Ferntail?" he asked, padding over sleepily.

the young cat padded from the apprentices' den, stretching his jaws wide in a yawn. blinking the morning sunlight out of his amber eyes, he scanned the clearing. have patrols already been sent out? he wondered, tilting his head. copperpaw normally awoke to hear shortclaw organizing the morning patrols. the golden-brown tom trotted over to his mother and father, who were already in the clearing. "is shortclaw sleeping in today?" he meowed curiously, his tail swishing. if he gets to sleep in, then can i go back to bed?

The tiny gray tom had been sitting next to the elders' den, cleaning his fur, when Dandeliontail came out. But Pebblefang couldn't greet him because he was walking to the clan's kits before he could even meow. So he stood up with a sigh of pain to join his brother. His bones didn't seem to be as happy as he was today. When he reached the kits and Dandeliontail, he nodded to everyone instead of a "Good morning!" so he didn't interrupt the already running conversation. Then he sat down and listened attentively.
