wolves - your opinon?

I think wolves are very interesting creatures! I actually have a story about a wolf.

My sister's friend was given a rescue wolf puppy. No, she was not ripped out of the wild. She was a rescue from an illegal breeder. Her owner also was able to legally keep her. She eventually went blind, but her owner was able to train her as a service animal! She was very good with kids and was a trained migraine detection service animal! I always found it interesting, how similar dogs and wolves actually are.

Legally, wolves (as well as wolfdogs) cannot be classified as service animals. Technically you can train any animal to do whatever you want in your own home, but unless it is a full-blooded dog (or in some cases a miniature horse), it will not be afforded any legal protections under the ADA.

Also a wolves nerves temperament would not make it a good SA as even if raised by humans they still retain alot of there wild instincts. I take these stories with a grain of salt as no insurance company will insure a wolf.

I understand. She technically wasn't a prescribed by a doctor, legally considered SA, but she was in fact trained to be one. So yes, while she wasn't officially recognized as a service animal, she was still trained to be one and provided services for her owner.

Personally Wolves aren't my faviorate animals. They aren't as majestic as the animal in my profile picture, and they certainly aren't as smart, at least in my opinion. However, I do respect them as a species. However, I hate when people say "OH MY GOD WOOFS ARE ANGELS AND THEY ARE ENDGARGERED AND HUNTERS ARE STATAN!!1!1!1!" Now, if a wolf is killed illegally, than I would hate that. However, if a wolf was killed by a man trying to defend his live stock, or if he was doing it for population control, than I say go for it! Some people on this thread keep saying that wolves protect their territory. Than why can't a human protect his by killing a wolf trying to get some of his chickens? Also, WOLVES CANNOT BE TAMED AUTOMATICALLY! The main reason that we have dogs today is because some wolves decided to eat any leftover meat the humans had. Over time, we slowly used them as our companions, and we bred them either for practical use or for show.

Personally, I prefer Elephants, as you can see. You know, a species that is actually endangered? No, seriously, they are literally endangered and we need to help save them before they go the way of the dodo. That would litearly break my heart if that happened. So wolfaboos, please, this is a message to focus on the real endangered animals. This includes endgared species of wolves, but it also includes creatures that are seen as 'ugly'. California Corradors anyone?

Okay, Admittidly this post has been more of a rant about wolfaboos than wolves. Sorry about that.

You should also understand, while I get your point and etc , We should always remember that people built their homes here, while wolves, a territorial predator/carnivore were being overrun by the human population. I'm not trying to make a point or get anything across to people but I'm perfectly fine with someone defending themselves but wolves kill to defend themselves and eat. Humans do the exact trying but hunting them for sport isn't appropriate for any animal.

Wolves are beautiful, just a s a tiger is beautiful or a dolphin is beautiful.

Because only the "pretty animals" are important. I know that wasn't what you were meaning but omg this irks me so bad. People only want to save animals they think are cute or cuddly or pretty or related to our own pets. And while some need our help, people never mention the "lesser" liked animals.

That person who posted the Condor, that bird is one of the most endangered animals on the planet. Or sharks, 70+ species are either Vulnerable, Endangered, critically or extinct. Their species as a whole are some of the most critically endangered species of animal in the world, but dozens upon dozens of countries want them to go extinct or want to kill them solely for their fins. Nothing more. They haven't had humans to coddle them when people realized they needed help, like wolves did.

Or another fish, bluefin tuna, where all 4 true species are Vulnerable +, but people can't eat another fish and would rather hunt them to extinction. That is an animal that would literally recheck its population if we would lessen how much we eat of it.

But people would rather protect the animal related to their dog that doesn't even need help anymore. Honestly it gets depressing after awhile.

This is a list of all Critically endangered animals that are close to extinction and will be within 10 years or so.
Yeah a lot aren't pretty, and a lot are seen as "useless" like fish, insects and the animals everyone overlooks, but in some cases if just one animal goes extinct the whole ecosystem can crash.
Also, notice what isn't on there? Wolves.

I know this is a older post on this thread, but it supports my claim on my previous post.
