Mutated Mermaids are, as their name states, mutated mermaids. For short I just call them Muties. Muties have the body structure of a typical mermaid- with the facial features of a human, and the tail of a fish- but they have added traits. The features that show are decided by just how mutated their genes are. Typical Muties have the stripes that run down their tails that glow, as well as glowing eyes. Some of the top mutations that Muties can posses are split tails, anglerfish-like esca, or even nuclear matter seeping off their skin.

A long, long, time ago a pod of mermaids lived in a cave system. At first glance the cave was harmless- they didn't know that nuclear plankton lived inside it's bowels. One day there was an earthquake, and the pod of mermaids found themselves trapped inside the cave. After years of living in severe radioactive conditions, the mermaids adapted to the darkness...but they also suffered serious mutations from the plankton. So, here we are.

If you see a Mutie available- try to nab it! If not, why not head over to the nursery? The nursery will usually have a batch of eggs ready to be hatched if no current Muties are up for adoption. If one of the artists have a slot open- you can request a custom, too!
