i had been searching for little for a bit, and it seemed that i may have found her. these clan cats said that little had been with them for a few moons and that they would take me to her. see, a while back, i had left my family to start my own life. now, i admit that i was quite angry at my mother at the time, but i vowed that i would never look back. living alone is quite lonely, i discovered, and the thought that my sister was out there all alone worried me. little was the only cat i had every really been close to. i knew her, and her shy personality would make it hard to thrive in the wild. so i set out to find her.
i glanced at the others, taking them in. there was a red tom, a she-cat, and a young silver tom. the silver one looked at me curiously while the she-cat had a sort of glare on her eyes. i could tell we would butt heads a few times if i stayed. two stubborn she-cats don't exactly mix.
what i assumed to be the leader [russet, maybe?] told me the basics of a clan as
the clan cats led me to their camp. as we approached it, i saw some black through the bushes. little? i kept my cool, but i wanted to run towards the shadow. i wanted to see my sister. i wasnt quite sure about these clan cats, but they better be treating her good or as soon as i get to her, we're leaving.
i glanced up, my ears straining to hear any noises. the rest of the clan was out and if any intruders came, it wouldn't be good. the sound of pawsteps got louder as the group [i assumed] got closer. it was probably adderflight and quickpaw returning from their training session. i could see red, silver, and light brown through the laurel bushes surrounding the camp, and stood up to greet my clanmates. as they entered, my heart skipped a beat. was that ... no, it couldn't be. i blinked, trying to shake the thought from my mind. it's not rain, it can't be. yet, as russetstar and the stranger approached me, i couldn't deny the feeling that it wasn't a stranger.
"littlestep," the leader said. the she-cat beside him looked at me, emotions i couldn't describe on her face. "thi-"
"little." it only took one word for my thoughts to be confirmed. it was my sister. i never thought that i would ever see her again. but, now ... she stood right in front of me.
"rain," i whispered. it had been said so quiet that i wasn't sure if anyone had heard, but the tabby didn't hesitate to come closer and lick my cheek affectionately. she twinned her tail with mine, and we looked at each happily.
"im so glad i found you! ive been looking for you and just happen upon that cats and i cant believe it's actually you! there is so much we have to catch up on." rain rambled on, and out of the corner of my eye i saw russetstar walk away.
"hey, rain."
"yea?"
"how about we go hunting and talk there?"
"sure, why not," she said.

"Brindlecloud! Brindlecloud!" The dilute calico medicine cat looked up in alarm when she heard her name being called. Crowpaw and Applefur burst through the undergrowth, panting heavily. "Shrewtail needs you!" Crowpaw shrieked. Brindlecloud jumped to her paws, abandoning the herbs she had been gathering, and hurtled back towards camp. She pushed past her clanmates to her den, gasping in horror when she saw Shrewtail shaking in her nest.
The fluffy tailed warrior let out a loud cry, turning her bloodied face towards Brindlecloud. Brindlecloud hurried over, pressing a wet moss ball to Shrewtail's face to try and clean the blood off. "Shrewtail, what hurts?!" Shrewtail opened her mouth to reply but screamed in pain again, her tail lashing. This continued for several more moments before the young she-cat's cries died and she fell still, her limbs sprawled out.
Brindlecloud nuzzled her nose into Shrewtail's neck, feeling for her pulse. "She's gone." Brindlecloud whispered to Crowpaw. Crowpaw whimpered slightly, pressing against his mentor's flank. "Go check on the others." She mewed, nudging him away before turning back to Shrewtail's body. She cleaned the rest of the blood from the she-cat's face before starting to search for the source of the blood. "She was bleeding from her eyes and nose..." She mumbled to herself, thinking of the symptoms the warrior had had.
"Brindlecloud!" The medicine cat looked over her shoulder. Strawberrypaw was at the entrance, her fur bushed up in alarm. "Squirrelstar collapsed." Brindlecloud got to her paws and followed the apprentice to Squirrelstar's den. The light ginger leader was crumpled in the center of her den, Blazefur and Acornpaw trying to coax her back to her paws.
"She was talking about her chest and paws feeling like they were burning." Blazefur reported to Brindlecloud. "Squirrelstar collapsed in the middle of the patrol so we had to carry her back." The tom looked anxiously back at his mother. "Brindlecloud, does she have what the others have?"
"I think so..." Brindlecloud mewed worriedly, grasping Squirrelstar's scruff in her jaws before hauling her over to her nest. She set the leader down carefully, panting heavily. Blazefur watched her closely, a suspicious look on his face as he eyed her belly. The medicine cat shot the ginger tom a look before turning her attention back to Squirrelstar. "I'll look after her though."

"Ow! Get away from me!" Witheredstalk snapped at Hemlockheart. The Siamese tom scrambled back from his mate, a worried and shocked look on his face. The cinnamon and ginger queen hissed at Hemlockheart before retreating deeper into her nest, letting out a high shriek of pain as her flank rippled.
Sunnyflower poked her head into the den, a worried look on her face as she watched her daughter. "Witheredstalk, can I come in?" The ginger she-cat asked. Witheredstalk raised her head to look at her mom before whimpering and curling in on her self. Sunnyflower's ears pressed back against her head and she moved past Hemlockheart to join Witheredstalk and Brindlecloud inside the den.
Brindlecloud stroked her tail along Witheredstalk's flank. "Witheredstalk... this might not be the right time but I need to ask you something important. Sunnyflower, I need you to keep this a secret too." Sunnyflower nodded before hurrying to shoo Hemlockheart out of the den.
"W-What is it?" Witheredstalk panted, a worried look on her face as she looked up at her friend.
Brindlecloud looked at Witheredstalk then at Sunnyflower and back. "I... I'm having kits with Appleheart from Leafclan... They're going to be here in a moon and I'm running out of time." She mewed. "I was wondering if you would take care of them."
Witheredstalk's eyes widened slightly before her gaze softened and she nodded. "Of course, Brindlecloud." She mewed before letting out another groan.
"Thank you so much. Now, let's get these kits out of you."

The hunting patrol had passed peacefully until they were just a ways from camp. The warriors were chatting amongst themselves when suddenly, a fox leaped at Silkwing. She screeched and brought her paws down on its neck, and it yowled and sprang back. The rest of the warriors came closer, shielding the young warrior from the fox. "Get off of our territory, or we will be forced to take drastic measures." Shinestar hissed, still protective of her former apprentice. The fox growled at them and leaped at Shinestar. She darted out of the way, but not before the fox managed to scratch her. Cloudswift saw the scratch and lunged at the fox, gripping onto its scruff with his jaws. The fox twisted and turned, snapping its jaws at the air as the other warriors pummelled it with merciless blows. CLoudswift was finally thrown off, and landed on his feet just in time to see the fox yelp as Ravenfall swiped its nose, and it ran away, whimpering. The warriors stood there, panting for a bit, until they realized that they had to get Silkwing to Leafrush. Ravenfall and Fennelclaw hoisted Silkwing onto their shoulders, and the patrol continued to camp, the remaining warriors carrying their prey that had been forgotten during the fight.

Solarclan's Tradition:
When an apprentice becomes a warrior, they are presented with a gemstone that either correlates with their eye color, pelt color, or personality. For example, a fiery, energetic tom may receive a red jasper stone. Kits are taught to anticipate the day when they receive a gemstone, and to keep it safely tucked away within their nests. The leader watches the training sessions and goes on hunting and border patrols frequently to determine what stone the new warrior shall receive. When a warrior dies, their gemstone is placed on top of their grave, to forever be a testament to them. It is said that their spirit is tethered to that gem, and if it's lost, then their spirit is lost. If an apprentice or kit dies, then the leader will choose a gem based on what might've been.

As usual, patrols had divided themselves fairly equally. Due to Honeystar's reports of foxes, Acornstream and Ashstripe promised to be extremely careful. Honeystar had taken the apprentices and their mentors to the Moonpool where they could talk to Starclan before their assessments. With an evil grin, Dustpaw had told her siblings good luck and to try and avoid their ancestors' wrath, conveniently forgetting to tell them that no Starclan cat had yet appeared in her dreams. The patrols left three of the warriors--Applenose, Duckpelt, and Egretstep--along with the queens, kits, and Grayfur.
Duckpelt, Egretstep, and Grayfur were napping while Fleckstorm and Applenose talked and Snowfoot watched her kits play in the leaf-fall's sunlight. Brightkit was sleeping next to his mother while the rest of his siblings wrestled, the occasional squeal telling Snowfoot that one of her kits had pinned another successfully.
"How long have you been a part of Forestclan?" Fleckstorm asked Applenose. She had taken an interest in the young tom, seeing as he had been nothing but polite to her.
"Ever since I was six moons, I think," he replied. "A long time."
"Who was your mentor?"
"Acornstream. I was the clan's first apprentice." At this, Applenose's chest puffed out with the pride that was also audible in his tone. "He's really nice, too, and was a great mentor. He taught me everything I know."
Fleckstorm smiled. Applenose was cute in the way he talked to her. They were equals, it seemed, and for some reason she felt as though the other cats treated her as though she were much younger than her age of six seasons. She also enjoyed talking to him, as hearing the news about what prey he caught and what new scents he caught was always interesting. He really was a nice tom.

Acornstream was very nervous about the possibility of meeting a fox. He hoped for his sake, his mate's sake, and his kits' sake that he wouldn't meet one. The possibility of dying while out on a simple patrol was honestly terrifying and he had never hoped more than now that Starclan truly was real. Honeystar, Crowcloud, and Applenose seemed convinced, but Acornstream wasn't quiet sure although there was certainly a comfort in entertaining the notion of seeing his family and friends after death.
"Don't worry so much," said Ashstripe cheerfully, his voice carrying the undertone of doubt. "The trails might just be stale."
"Yeah. Yeah, that's probably it."

After Honeystar's warning, everyone had become far more careful about hunting and patrolling. Today, Birchnose was with Daisywhisker and Palefur on the hunting patrol, as Palefur claimed that his thin fur could withstand a bit of chill. Of course, Birchnose was a bit nervous about letting him out on patrols but wasn't interested in being his mother.
"With Snowfoot's four and Fleckstorm's upcoming kits, we definitely need more prey," commented Daisywhisker.
"Ashstripe seems really worried about that," said Palefur. "I mean, he's right but once Duckpelt's kits are warriors, we'll have plenty of hunters."
"I'm pretty sure that talking'll scare away all the prey," said Birchnose dryly.
Daisywhisker laughed. "I'm sure that you'll track 'em down! Between us, nothing can get away."
"What about me?" complained Palefur. "Am I not here?" Birchnose's whiskers twitched with laughter in response, while Daisywhisker snickered. Finally, even the mildly disgruntled Palefur joined in.

It took Honeystar, the mentors, and their apprentices most of the day to reach the Moonpool. Once they were there, the leader explained what they were doing. "You are each to drink some of the water from the Moonpool," she told the apprentices, "and perhaps Starclan's cats will have some words of advice. Later this moon, you will start your assessments and if you pass them, you'll climb the Speaker's Tree and come back down. Whoever completes this will become a warrior and whoever doesn't will be held back one more moon. There isn't any shame, because it simply means that you have yet some learning to do. And who knows?" Honeystar said with a smile. "Maybe you'll become a warrior with more knowledge than your siblings."
Adderpaw, Barleypaw, and Boulderpaw looked at one another, not reassured at all.
"Whenever you're ready."
One by one, the siblings padded up to the Moonpool, lapped up some of the water, and lay down to rest. The adults sat in a circle around them, watching for anything--or anyone--that might come by.

Boulderpaw woke up first and stretched, before seeing her siblings doing the same thing beside her. Their mentors and Honeystar seemed to have vanished. Was this a dream or was this Starclan?
"Ah, more apprentices," said someone from behind them.
Adderpaw turned first, fur bristling, his siblings following suit. "Who are you?" he asked.
"Minkstar of Cherryclan."
"Cherryclan?" Adderpaw, like his littermates, was confused. He'd never heard of such a clan either from Honeystar or at the Gathering.
"Cherryclan failed many seasons ago," Minkstar said regretfully. "Forestclan's territory was once ours."
"Really?" This was Barleypaw.
"Sit down," said Minkstar. The three apprentices hurriedly sat. "I'm here to give you some advice both for your assessments and life as a warrior. First, I'm sure that you already know this, but try your hardest at everything. Don't let yourself believe that failure is a possibility." His face was thoughtful. "Remember who you are: a clan cat. Family. We forgot--and we died. Strive to be the best you can be. For Dustpaw, it will be a medicine cat. For you, a warrior, the safeguards of the clan and its history, bearers and carers of the next generation. And remember your history, because you are nothing without it."
Minkstar glanced at the sky, and the four apprentices followed his gaze. The sky was lightening; dawn was almost here and it seemed as though no time had passed. "It's time for you to go," he said. "Goodbye--and good luck."

Next Moonpool Visit: Now
Mousestar had asked for a medicine cat apprentice and that was what he had received. The Moonpool was a long way away from Hopeclans camp so it gave them a long time to talk. The young she-cats name was Echopaw and she was very quiet, unlike another apprentice Mousestar knew. He knew Lily would be grateful for some help with herb collecting and that Echopaw would be a great apprentice to the kind medicine cat.
”So how does this whole ‘Starclan sent you a clan member’ thing work?” Mousestar asked. He had only been granted two cats so far but he was intrigued by the thought of how they got to him.
”I'm sorry but I am unable to tell you that.” she purred.
”Why not?” he chuckled, tilting his head.
”You will find out eventually. You’re the leader. Starclan will come tell you through a dream.”
”Like a prophecy?” he beamed.
”No! Just a normal dream!” she rolled her eyes good-humouredly. They both laughed and chatted for the rest of the journey.
[BACK IN THE TERRITORY]
Nightglow twitched an ear to signal for Itch to be quiet and flicked her tail towards a creamy-grey tom who was stalking a bird just over the border.
”What are you doing on Hopeclan territory?” she growled, Itch beside her with his ears flattened against his head and a growl rumbling in his throat. The tom leapt at the bird but it shot up into the air with a fierce warning cry. The loners paws, outstretched for the catch, skidded across the ground and one front paw caught in an abandoned rabbit burrow. As if something had to happen to make it even worse, the entrance to the burrow collapsed on his paw.
”You scared it away!” the tom screeched with pain as he snatched his paw from the rubble. He limped forwards until he was standing nose to nose with Nightglow.
”Answer her!” Itch hissed. He turned to glare at him.
”What if I don’t?” he stalked away from Nightglow and shoved him with a paw. He stumbled and Nightglow pushed against him to help him regain him balance. Nightglows burning yellow eyes locked onto the other tom and her fur bristled.
”How dare you do that to him? How would you like it if I shoved you?” She leaned forwards and headbutted the toms grey chest. He fell over, blood beginning to ooze from his bad paw. ”I can’t believe I’m doing this but… Come with us back to our camp… You need that paw treated…” She helped the injured tom to his paws and together, Nightglow and Itch escorted him to camp.
The hunting patrol had arrived back at the island just before the border patrol showed up and were settling down for a rest when Lily burst from her den.
”Blood! I smell blood!” She dashed towards the trio and sniffed at the toms paw.
”Cat!” Cinderpaw scrambled to her paws and began to trot over but Nightglow stopped her with a wary glance. She left the loners side and sat in front of the apprentice.
”Don’t… He’s very rude and he’ll snap at you even worse than Itch did…” she sighed.
”I don’t like mean cats…” Cinderpaw frowned.
”No one does, that’s why I’m happy to announce Starclan sent us a very kind medicine cat apprentice!” Mousestar had emerged from the reeds that lined the river, and behind him was a tortoiseshell she-cat.
”Thank Starclan! I really need some help!” sighed Lily from where she was crouched next to his bloodied paw. Echopaw trotted to her side.
”Hm… What herbs do you have?”
” Dock, catmint, cobweb, comfrey, alder leaves, poppy seeds and daisy leaves. We need more though…”
”Lets go find some then.” Mentor and apprentice got up and disappeared into the bushes.
”What’s your name?” Mousestar asked the loner.
”Why does it concern you? Its not like I’m staying here!” he scoffed.
”Well he kind of has to until his paw is healed…” Nightglow muttered, only loud enough for herself to hear. After a moment of silence, he rolled his eyes.
”The name’s Hamish…”
’Hamish… Your new name will be Cloverstep.” Mousestar declared. ”We wont have a ceremony because I’m exhausted from my trip to the moonpool and I bet youre all tired too so we will all rest today. He dipped his head to show the discussion was over and moved to a shady spot under a tree. Cloverstep stayed where he was while Cinderpaw practiced battle moves in the centre of the clearing, Itch watching quietly. Sweetdawn and Appleblaze sat at the edge of the clearing, chatting and laughing, and finally Nightglow came and sat with Mousestar.
”Cloverstep looks a lot like Sweetdawn, don’t you think? Even if they are related, she probably doesn’t remember him… She couldn’t even remember her name for Starclan sake!”
”Yeah…” Mousestar murmured.
”Speaking of her, those two have been inseparable since she joined the clan…” she purred as she watched Sweetdawn and Appleblaze smiling. Mousestar nodded his head, struggling to stay awake. You must be drained, you have a rest, I’ll keep an eye on things.
”Thanks Nightglow…” he purred, stifling a yawn. He let his eyes close and the voices around him fade.

"Spiderstar! Spiderstar!" Ravenfeather called out, almost running. She was exhausted, having hurried all the way from where her and Moonshadow had found the group of two-legs and many of things that went with them. She was a little confused at her condition. Usually she could run better than that, as proven by Moonshadow easily trotting beside her. But that wasn't the most important thing. "Spi-" Ravenfeather had just burst into camp, and found Spiderstar and Honeyear bent over a tiny kit. Ravenfeather was confused. Where did it come from? She calmed her breathing down and walked forward. Spiderstar had looked up. "yes Ravenfeather?" he asked his deputy. "Two-legs, their triangle houses and sleeping monsters!" Ravenfeather told him, and the leader instantly frowned. "Where?" he asked, sounding worried. "Near the northern border..." Ravenfeather answered. Spiderstar frowned. "thank you for telling me, I will be sure to tell everyone." he told her. Ravenfeather nodded. "And... Who is this kit?" she asked, looking at the small thing. "Ashkit. Honeyear and me found her while patrolling... She is sick, I hope Fawnthroat comes back soon." he told her. Ravenfeather frowned. "poor little kit..." she murmured, walking forward. Ashkit was lying down and her eyes were half closed. She seemed so young! Ravenfeather laid down and curled her tail around Ashkit, trying to comfort her. She glared at the cats staring at her. "come on, someone get Fawnthroat!" she hissed, all the while wondering why she was so protective all of a sudden. "I'll do it." Moonshadow spoke quietly. Without waiting for an answer, she hurried off.
Not long after, Moonshadow and Fawnthroat came back. Fawnthroat looked quite panicked. "a kit? A kit is sick?" her voice was very high-pitched. Ravenfeather nodded. She was alone now with Ashkit, the other warriors had gone. "poor thing..." Fawnthroat murmured, then hurried into the medicine den. "bring her here!" she called, looking through her herbs. She smiled gratefully. After having he over at the kit, she had seen what was wrong, and the dandelion she had was perfect for it. While Ravenfeather brought to kit back into the den, Fawnthroat got it ready. "here, put her down." she said gently. Ravenfeather nodded and put the coughing kit down. Fawnthroat gave the dandelion to the shaking kit. "eat." she says gently. A small, pink tongue rolled out and took the remedy. After only a few minutes, Ashkit relaxed and fell asleep slowly. She was still coughing, but much less than before. Ravenfeather sighed. "I hope she'll he alright." Fawnthroat nodded. "me too. I'll be looking for some more tomorrow, it might be better." the medicine cat seemed to hesitate, then she looked at Ravenfeather again. "do you want me to check up on you? I've noticed you seemed more tired lately." Ravenfeather blinked. "yes, I have... You can if you like." Fawnthroat nodded and did so. After a few minutes, a small smile grew on her lips. "Ravenfeather... I have very big news. You are expecting kits." Ravenfeather was like frozen for a second, then smiled. "thank you Fawnthroat!" she called before running out. Fawnthroat smiled, shaking her head. Probably off to tell Leafstrike. Then her smile faded. Who would take her place?
"Leafstrike!" Ravenfeather called. He had just come back from training his apprentice. "yes?" the warrior asked. Ravenfeather stopped and took in a breath. "I'm expecting kits." she said all of a sudden. Leafstrike was frozen for a second, then a smile grew on his face. "that's so great!" he exclaimed, and nuzzled his mate affectionately. "I'm so happy for you..." he murmured. Ravenfeather nuzzled him back. "so am I..."
~the next day~
When everyone woke up and had eaten, Spiderstar went up to the high rock. "I have a few important announcements to say." he called, and, curious, all cats gathered by him. In the back of the crowd, Honeyear stood silently, a smile on his face. "yesterday, one of our patrols found two-legs in our territory. Do not go anywhere near them. Also, we found a young, sick kit. She has been helped by Fawnthroat, but we don't know... If she'll be alright yet." many cats looked worried at their leaders words. "but I also have happier news. Our deputy, Ravenfeather, is now expecting kits." a few cats smiled and whispered congratulations. Honeyear's smile grew. Almost there. "which means that for the next few moons, I will choose someone to replace her." everyone was quiet. Who was it? "Honeyear, please step forward." cats froze and turned to watch him. Many didn't seem happy. Ravenfeather frowned. Spiderstar had asked her what she thought earlier, she had proposed Moonshadow or Smokewhisker, not this sneaky little... Honeyear stepped forward slowly. He had managed to make his smile a little less wide and he stepped confidently. He bowed his head in front of Spiderstar. "it is an honor." he murmured. Ravenfeather scowled. "I'm sure." she muttered. She trusted the cream Tom less and less. "Honeyear, you may now organize the patrols for today."
The Tom nodded. "alright." he decided to stay nice for now. "Smokewhisker and Leafstrike, you can train your apprentices. How about swimming? It's warm now." the mentors nodded. Leafstrike was reluctant to agree to anything Honeyear said, but this was reasonable. "Moonshadow and me can patrol, far from the two-legs of course. Ravenfeather, I suppose you, Wheatfur and Ashkit won't be doing anything." there was a slight tone of disgust or haughtiness in his voice. They were useless. "Fawnthroat, what will you be doing?" he asked. "she by here, I don't want to leave clan when Wheatfur is so close to kitting." she explained. Honeyear rolled his eyes. Useless, the lot of them. "and Spiderstar?" "I will be going to the moonpool." he replied. At that, Fawnthroat looked up. "Spiderstar, may I ask that you request a medicine cat apprentice? I will be needing help if the clan grows like that..." surprisingly, Spiderstar seemed to hesitate. He looked at Honeyear, who shook his head almost imperceptibly. Spiderstar looked back at Fawnthroat. "I'm sorry, you will have to do your best for now. I will ask for a warrior." Fawnthroat frowned, but nodded and stood back. Spiderstar wasn't normally like that... "do all cats know what they are doing? Now go!" Honeyear called, and all cats except Ravenfeather and Fawnthroat left. Ashkit was in the medicine den and Wheatfur in the nursery.
"Fawnthroat, I don't trust Honeyear." Ravenfeather suddenly said. Fawnthroat looked at Ravenfeather and sighed. "so you've noticed too? He's got Spiderstar wrapped around his claws..." Ravenfeather nodded. "yes. And I don't know how many others as well... The apprentices like him. Leafstrike used to trust him, and I don't know about Moonshadow. She never says anything." Fawnthroat frowned. "it is worse than I thought..." she shook her head. "I hope all will be fine." Ravenfeather nodded. "let's go to the nursery though, I'm tired." Fawnthroat nodded, smiling gently. "yes, you should rest." the two mollies slowly walked in the direction of the nursery, Ravenfeather leaning on the medicine cat a little.
It wasn't too long after that Ravenfeather saw Wheatfur's face tighten in pain. Her heart beating, Ravenfeather stood up quickly. For once she hoped Wheatfur could speak. "Is it the kits?" when Wheatfur nodded, Ravenfeather ran out of the nursery. "Fawnthroat! Wheatfur's kits are coming!" she called. Fawnthroat looked out of the nursery. "they are? Go back, tell her to wait a minute, I'll be back with something to help!" and while Ravenfeather hurried back, she went inside the medicine den hurriedly. This was a moment she wished she had an apprentice. They could have helped... She quickly grabbed the chervil she had collected just the previous day. It wasn't perfect, but would certainly help. Then, she hurried back to the nursery.

Our deputy, Ravenfeather, is now expecting kits." a few cats smiled and whispered congratulations. Honeyear's smile grew. Almost there. "which means that for the next few moons, I will choose someone to replace her." everyone was quiet. Who was it? "Honeyear, please step forward." cats froze and turned to watch him. Many didn't seem happy. Ravenfeather frowned. Spiderstar had asked her what she thought earlier, she had proposed Moonshadow or Smokewhisker, not this sneaky little... Honeyear stepped forward slowly. He had managed to make his smile a little less wide and he stepped confidently. He bowed his head in front of Spiderstar. "it is an honor." he murmured. Ravenfeather scowled. "I'm sure." she muttered. She trusted the cream Tom less and less. "Honeyear, you may now organize the patrols for today."
The Tom nodded. "alright." he decided to stay nice for now. "Smokewhisker and Leafstrike, you can train your apprentices. How about swimming? It's warm now." the mentors nodded. Leafstrike was reluctant to agree to anything Honeyear said, but this was reasonable. "Moonshadow and me can patrol, far from the two-legs of course. Ravenfeather, I suppose you, Wheatfur and Ashkit won't be doing anything." there was a slight tone of disgust or haughtiness in his voice. They were useless. "Fawnthroat, what will you be doing?" he asked. "she by here, I don't want to leave clan when Wheatfur is so close to kitting." she explained. Honeyear rolled his eyes. Useless, the lot of them. "and Spiderstar?" "I will be going to the moonpool." he replied. At that, Fawnthroat looked up. "Spiderstar, may I ask that you request a medicine cat apprentice? I will be needing help if the clan grows like that..." surprisingly, Spiderstar seemed to hesitate. He looked at Honeyear, who shook his head almost imperceptibly. Spiderstar looked back at Fawnthroat. "I'm sorry, you will have to do your best for now. I will ask for a warrior." Fawnthroat frowned, but nodded and stood back. Spiderstar wasn't normally like that... "do all cats know what they are doing? Now go!" Honeyear called, and all cats except Ravenfeather and Fawnthroat left. Ashkit was in the medicine den and Wheatfur in the nursery.
"Fawnthroat, I don't trust Honeyear." Ravenfeather suddenly said. Fawnthroat looked at Ravenfeather and sighed. "so you've noticed too? He's got Spiderstar wrapped around his claws..." Ravenfeather nodded. "yes. And I don't know how many others as well... The apprentices like him. Leafstrike used to trust him, and I don't know about Moonshadow. She never says anything." Fawnthroat frowned. "it is worse than I thought..." she shook her head. "I hope all will be fine." Ravenfeather nodded. "let's go to the nursery though, I'm tired." Fawnthroat nodded, smiling gently. "yes, you should rest." the two mollies slowly walked in the direction of the nursery, Ravenfeather leaning on the medicine cat a little.
It wasn't too long after that Ravenfeather saw Wheatfur's face tighten in pain. Her heart beating, Ravenfeather stood up quickly. For once she hoped Wheatfur could speak. "Is it the kits?" when Wheatfur nodded, Ravenfeather ran out of the nursery. "Fawnthroat! Wheatfur's kits are coming!" she called. Fawnthroat looked out of the nursery. "they are? Go back, tell her to wait a minute, I'll be back with something to help!" and while Ravenfeather hurried back, she went inside the medicine den hurriedly. This was a moment she wished she had an apprentice. They could have helped... She quickly grabbed the chervil she had collected just the previous day. It wasn't perfect, but would certainly help. Then, she hurried back to the nursery.

Next Moonpool Visit: now
Crowstar looked around his new home with a soft smile. "This will do wonderfully," he meowed to himself, casting his gaze over the green forest. But I can't lead a Clan if there are no other cats, After a few minutes of the black and white tom pondering in silence, he made up his mind. Instead of waiting, he would go to StarClan right away to seek guidance for his newly formed Clan. Crowstar set off at a brisk pace, eager to arrive at the Moonpool.
After a quite tiring journey, SpringClan's new leader finally reached his destination. Padding towards the pool on sturdy paws, Crowstar couldn't help but feel the slightest bit nervous; what if StarClan couldn't help him with what he needed? Nonsense! He pushed away the thought and settled at the edge of the pool, gently pressing his nose to its cool surface. The tom closed his eyes and murmured, "StarClan, hear my request: a leader must have a deputy by his side, so I ask for a loyal cat who will aid me as I help this Clan grow and prosper."

“Come on, Cicelykit!” Saddlekit mewed, looking up to where her sister was still stationed in the nest where they slept. They were just big enough to totter around the nursery, but Heronstar had been pretty clear to stay within the nursery so far. That didn’t mean Saddlekit couldn’t do a thorough exploring here though. “It’s fine! Mama never said we couldn’t explore here!”
Cicelykit gripped the mauve fabric with her claws, head pointing down, strangely close to the edge. “No!” She cried back.
“Cicely, it’s fine. I wouldn’t be down here if I thought it was dangerous!” Ploverkit added.
“No!” Cicelykit yelled again.
“Cicelykit, you’ll be alright, it’s only a short drop to the floor, and I can fetch Harrierpelt very easily if you do fall awkwardly.” Argusheart said. Ploverkit and Saddlekit were not so sure about the “very easily” part, as it was clear from where they now stood, but not from the nest, that Argusheart’s belly was huge from pregnancy. They both thought it best not to mention this.
“Come on, Cicelykit! Argusheart’s right. It’s only about twice my height to jump, it’s nothing!” Said Saddlekit, exaggerating how tall she was. “I know it looks high from there, but it’s really easy.”
“You’ll never be a warrior if you stay in the nest all day!” Ploverkit declared.
Cicelykit bit her lip, still tense and nervous, then, relaxed very slowly in a way that showed she really wasn’t relaxed. Then she shuffled forwards, jumped… and almost entirely face-planted on the floor. “OOOWWW!” she yowled, as her siblings panicked around her, wondering what could have gone wrong.
Argusheart awkwardly shifted, and got off the chair. When she reached Cicelykit, she nuzzled her gently, making sure she really was alright. Cicelykit wriggled awkwardly, trying to escape her huge ‘attacker’ and hitting Argusheart on the nose with one paw several times. Cicelykit rolled onto her back, ready to attack.
“It’s alright, sweetie, I’m not going to hurt you. Looks like you’re all good and strong, nothing broken or hurt.” Argusheart said, evaluating. Ploverkit still pushed his sister gently with his nose, making extra sure that Cicelykit was fine. Unfocused eyes hit a point near his nose.
“Ploverkit, I’m fine! I just couldn’t see where I was landing, that’s all.” She pushed her brother away with two paws, and rolled smoothly onto her feet. “I don’t need extra help because of it.” She said, like she hadn’t been terrified of the unknown drop beside their nest. She’d thought it was a lot further down than it had been, and if you didn’t know how far your first jump was, you’d be pretty reluctant to take it too. She didn’t see any reason why she couldn’t become a warrior anyway.

Nettlepaw had taken into heading into the nursery to make a fuss of the kits when she wasn’t training, in a similar way to how Shellpaw had for her. Much like her friend, she also brought them things to play with, and enjoyed making a fuss of each of them in turn.
Heronstar and Argusheart didn’t mind her being around, as she was pretty capable of stopping them doing anything dangerous (especially as they were still all very small), and it gave them both a little more time. Not to mention, they’d really need all the help they could get once there were two litters of small kits running around.

Droseratail sat down next to where Lobeliafur was lying, flacked out on her side in the middle of the courtyard area. There were only a few mollies his age within the clan, and Lobeliafur really was pretty. Someday he’d get up the courage to actually talk to her, and maybe even ask her to be his mate. Someday.
