non-canon clan. this my archive for mapleclan, with it's traditions, members and posts. enjoy your reading! c:

mapleclan's past :

there once was a clan called brookclan. they were a happy and carefree clan, enjoying life more than any clan. they never got into any battles with other clans and didn't like being involved in them. life was calm... until one fateful day. after one especially hard leaf-bare, the brook running through the entire territory overflowed. all the cats who were in the camp unfortunately died, drowning in the huge flood. starclan was helpless as all their followers disappeared under the raging water. but there was still hope. one young warrior who had been hunting at the eastern border heard the wave coming and took shelter in the tallest maple tree in the forest. he stayed perched on the highest branch, frozen in terror. when the sun came down and hid behind the distant mountains, the water had calmly returned to it's bed. the spared warrior, foxwhisker, returned to his camp to find all of his clanmates' limp bodies. horrified and devastated, the tom fled back to his tree and fell in a disturbed sleep. stonestar, brookclan's first leader and creator, came to talk to the mourning soul. he explained to foxwhisker how a new clan had to be created. foxwhisker spent the whole night speaking with his ancestor. when the warrior woke up to the rising sun, he had nine lives and was now leader of mapleclan. foxstar first carried all clan-mates to the tallest maple tree and buried them around the giant, one by one. he then created dens in the surrounding maple trees' roots and branches. and so, like a phoenix, mapleclan grew out of brookclan's ashes.

territory/borders :

north - colossalclan - Grey_Hoodie

to the north, you can see the start of the brook that gave the late brookclan it's name. it starts from a river in colossalclan territory and slows down to become a small brook that runs through the whole mapleclan territory. the brook is an excellent spot to go fishing, as it is full of fish.

south - forestclan - Simonpet

to the south, there is a clearing that continues seemingly forever. it is full of small prey and rabbits can sometimes be caught there. it is commonly used by mentors to train their apprentices, as there is plenty of space to learn to fight, trees to learn to climb and prey to learn to hunt. the brook is also runs nearby, allowing apprentices to learn how to swim in it's easygoing current.

west - roseclan - .Cronus.

to the west is the clan's camp. the dens are made in the many maple trees' roots and are warm and comfortable. the tallest maple tree is the forest's and camp's center, commonly called the blazing maple for it's fiery red leaves. the forest is also a good hunting spot for warriors on patrol.

east - caveclan - tauriel.

to the east, there is the dense forest full of prey. for a hunting patrol or a medicine cat looking for herbs that don't grow near the maple trees, this is a good spot to go. this is also mainly where badgers and foxes live, so every cat that walks into these woods must be careful.

history - foxstar is the only survivor of the horrible flood that destroyed brookclan. his father died just before he became an apprentice, so foxstar didn't really know him. his mother died in the flood trying to help the clan's queen and kits, including his pregnant sister, escape the deadly water. his family is buried with the other victims under the blazing maple.

personality - foxstar is a friendly and laid-back kind of cat. he isn't too strict on the warrior code and is understanding with his clan-mates. foxstar is determined to learn from brookclan's mistakes and teach his clan kindness, honesty and forgiveness. he thinks all good-natured cats who believe in starclan are worthy of being in a clan, no matter their past or blood. foxstar can be quite clumsy or shy at times but is generally a great cat.

skills - foxstar was taught to hunt, fish and swim at a young age but excels mostly in fishing. he is also quite a good swimmer and hunter. foxstar is a decent fighter and climber, but is always determined to do his best.

physical description - foxstar is a long-furred white and ginger tabby with hazel eyes. he is light and fast due to his nimble build. foxstar can easily dodge attacks or obstacles, but has difficulty adding power to his blows during battle.

history - briarleap was born to an adventurous and ambitious loner called mint. mint's mate left her for another molly right after he got her pregnant, as he was quite a flirty ladies-man. so mint raised two kittens, named nettle and briar, on her own. she died by catching green-cough shortly before briarleap joined mapleclan. nettle decided to go on his own path and his status is unknown.

personality - briarleap is a curious molly. she is always trying to find the truth in things and get to know other cats better. this may make her a bit pushy, but she is overall a friendly cat. briarleap can be quite stubborn at times and will stand up for her beliefs. she is open-minded and likes to help out others.

skills - briarleap is a excellent climber and has strong legs that help her jump very high. hunting and play-fighting are some of her favorite activities. she however dislikes getting very wet, but a small swim won't scare her.

physical description - briarleap is a white and dark brown tabby with forest green eyes. she is agile, lithe and dodging attacks as well as landing some blows is child's play for her.
