Hey guys, got some kals to gift off (most of them actually). They can be found here xxx (there are two posts I believe, but second post are tentative because they may already have found new homes). Not fcfs, please pm me if interested though. More likely than not, a bunch of them will be going to people I know/friends/co's, but there are a few open, all you have to do is ask. Im not going to list them all out because there is about 20 (+) in there, but ye..
most of them will be gone within a week from today at the very latest, I just havent decided exactly who will go where yet, and there are a few left. (if your pm was not answered/there was no confirmation, then after a week from today, you can safely assume the kalon is either staying with me or have been gifted to someone else instead)

Hey, I'm starting to get on the panic side of things.

Kalon #1084 is my new dream Kalon, and
my top priority at the moment. But due to
my art skills, I am experiencing a terribly
hard time of entering the contest. I love
the Kalon dearly, so I am trying to give it
my all with what I can writingwise. But
due to my lack of artistic licenses and not
being ideal with designs, I can't enter for
the shine part of the contest.

Or can I?

I have an idea for the shine sketched out
and ready to go for 1084, but I can't put
it on the tail.
I am willing to pay in pets, for someone
who can add this sketch as an actual
shine design on her, if I tried I would
butcher the poor thing and believe me,
I have tried.

If anyone could, please 1x1 me how many
pets I would have to owe you, I am going
hardcore on her but I need the shine done
maybe the day before the contest ends

anyway i came here to show off my second kalon that i've won!!



mephis / male / late 20's / infj

here's parts of my entry for him! (sorry it's so long sjdghks) ((also i had art that i drew but i hate it so...skdjsg))

to trace the contours of a geode with the tips of his fingers meant to read the very emotions of the earth beneath him. each curvature, formation, etching, and crack in the stone was a word in the ancient scripture carved by mother nature herself. entire mountain ranges were mere pages in her history. tectonic plates melting, shifting, bending underneath the weight of the ocean— all of them were like books unread to mephis, each with countless chapters waiting to unfold before his eyes.

or, perhaps, his hands. mephis could not see much, though it mattered little in his line of work. reading the moods of the earth merely required years of training and a sense of touch attuned to the different textures of asphalt, marble, quartz— what have you. he'd been able to see once before— the light of ancient crystals drew him in like a moth to a flame —but that was many, many moons ago, in a time where his fascination was endless and daring and unafraid. there were lines in geomancy one should never cross, he learned a little too late.

yet now, he could feel the light deep in his chest, like a precious memory. it drove him forward into the unknown, as if he were a spelunker traversing a vast cave with endless passages, some meandering into dead-ends and others leading to fates yet unknown. and mephis had front-row seats to it all. each client brought him a little further, a little deeper into the cave, and every stone, rock, shard they carried was a glimmer of something undiscovered— and he, with his insatiable thirst for knowledge, would edge on into the future where anything was possible.

god. he loved his job.

technical notes:

mephis can tell the future by reading the earth, whether it's by sensing tectonic activity, analyzing the structure/makeup of a stone, studying the textures and contours of rock samples, observing rock formations, etc. he cannot see— but his sense of touch is so refined he can tell the composite of a rock sample using inference (common minerals for a location, for example) and memorized facts (like mineral density.) divination is his primary occupation, but he also practices earth-based white magic, involving benediction, charming, healing, things of that nature. he can also read the history of a specific location using rock samples and performing a specialized ritual.

in order to read fortunes, clients may either choose a general reading, or go for a more customized option. general readings will involve the use of mephis' own geode collection, which he uses as a conduit for his magic. a more customized reading may involve the client bringing their own sample (i.e., the first stone they see on the way home from work) or by having the client throw, break, or otherwise disfigure another stone to see how it shatters. much like tea leaves, the way a stone breaks may hold clues about the client's future.

mephis' blindness was caused by a geomancy-related mishap in his younger years involving a forbidden artifact— the philosopher's stone. what happened exactly, no one knows. he's changed his name and moved away since then, keeping his past largely a secret.

so basically mephis is very much interested in the mysteries of the universe and exploring the possibilities of geomancy! he's basically married to his work, wwwwww,,, he's open for friends/enemies/crushes/mates, either ooc or ic breeding O: it may take me a while to get through relation pms since i like to think them through though!

and i just started my new kalon thread! there's only two so far and it's HEAVILY wip, but kale's also there as well! i think i've got a mate for them but other relationships are very much open!

i just got a myo slot and would really love someone to help design it for me !! i've got the idea completely planned (a certain character from a musical), i'm just complete trash at designing myself. i can pay in cs pets, c$, and art (that's allowed, right?)

Oh - congrats!! I was wondering who that pretty kalon would end up with. I love what you've got for his character so far too! Good luck finding relations and getting your storage thread up and going. :) Mine's still quite a mess too lol. You might have more of an excuse though.

It can be super tough - but when you do win one it's so rewarding!! :) I wish you the very very best in winning your first kalon - I've actually got a kit readoption going so if you're interested you could give that a try? Awesome news from my end! naumachy made an absolutely STUNNING batch for me over the weekend and until now I've been too crazy busy to post about it. But look at these amazing dolls!

Opal and Valkyrie are so proud. But as promised I'm not going to keep all of them for myself (although let's be real who wouldn't be tempted to with this batch?) - as of right now the neon shibe kit (top right) is UFA! Click on the image below to go to the competition!

I've also very seriously considered putting the bottom left kit UFA as well but I'm still kind of torn. If you're interested in seeing them go UFA please do PM me and based partially on the amount of interest I'll make my decision! technically you could make an argument for any of them but I'm pretty darn attached to the top left for sure
