~A Day in the Pack~
Breeze, Cloud, Thunder, and Lightning carried a huge, half-eaten hawk into what was now known as wolf territory. There was a chorus of growls, snarls, and barks as the wolves fought for a taste of the delicious bird. Hawk rolled his eyes at the wolves, enjoying a rabbit caught especially for him, thanks to Starr. Shadow and Storm got the most of the hawk of everyone fighting for it, because of Shadow's huge size and Storm's being second-in-command. However, the four that caught it got the most of all, as they ate some before bringing it back to camp. There was a snap of teeth and Snap yelped, frantically getting out of the crowd as Snowfall ate what he was about to. Toad and Frog, neglected, sat whimpering in the back. Neither had the strength to get any, and were always hungry and picked on. Rabbit bounded in from taking a dump and saw the corpse and ran over, fluffballs of fur getting into everyone's face. By the time she'd had her fill, the hawk was covered in her gray fur, giving it a nasty taste. A cluster of wolves, consisting of Adder, Creek, Night, Moon, Butterfly, Wind, and Fang, cornered her, growling. She hopped quickly out of reach and the angered wolves in hot pursuit. Water, Crystal, and Breeze enjoyed being fed by their mates, Flame, Pine, and Hawk, because of their upcoming pups. None had given birth yet. Mud, Flower, and Spider set out to find more food for the huge pack. Claw, Bear, Rose, Thorn, and Leaf had enough sense to stay out of the hawk fight and settle for what they had eaten earlier. Raven and Crow, who both had a crush on Dove, sat near the she-wolf and chatted. Spring and Stone shared a small mouse found scuttling around Hawk's boulder used to make announcements. Fall scratched his neck, saw a small black bug fly out of his fur, and moaned. The second time this moon he'd gotten fleas. Sparrow somehow was sleeping through all the commotion.
