Darkness rolled the plan through her head again to make sure there were no flaws. "Trainees, please step forward," she said, looking at the spot near the back where some of the young cats had settled.

Rex padded forwards nervously when Darkness called. The older she-cat's presence was a bit intimidating to him, mainly because she could do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted.

Nodding, the deaf shecat padded up as she observed Rex had done. Her heart beat was quickening. She padded beside him, resting her tail on his flank in a reassuring attempt.

I sighed as I walked up to Darkness beside Rex. Instantly my whole
body started shaking and my heart was pounding a mile a minute.
I couldn't control myself, but who could in this moment? We just
recently encountered Larkclan coming into our camp and talking
trash. Darkness could punish us for not training enough, for not
checking borders enough, or something else! She could do anything..

Darkness could tell the trainees were nervous, something about their posture told her. "I have decided to assign each trainee a trainer. Trainers, please touch noses with your trainee when I call the pairs. First of all, of course, Breeze and Saber," she meowed.

Squinting, Breeze sent a confused glance at Saber. What had Darkness just said? The distance between them made her unable to read clearly, though she knew that her leader was refering to her by the gaze that she set upon her. She moved up to read a little better, unsure of what to do. Breeze flushed with embarassment. Did she seem daft? Did everyone know that she could only read lips up close? She looked around confusedly before returning her perplexed gaze to Saber.

Rex noticed her confusion and stepped in to help. "She wants you to come up and touch noses with Saber. I'm sure Saber can explain it to you more," he meowed slowly, making sure she knew what he was saying.

Eyes widening in realization, the deaf shecat smiled and nodded. She then loped up to Saber and waited for her mentor to touch noses. Breeze wondered if this meant that she would have to fight, since she had already been assigned to Saber as a healer trainee. The thought scared her a little bit.

I smiled at the thought Darkness had. It wasn't bad at all.. Besides
when it came to me. There's absolutely no way somebody would want to
train me! Rex and Breeze, no problem. They train all the time! Me, well,
I don't train all the time. Soaring away from my bad thoughts, I came back to
reality and dipped my head respectfully when Darkness called who Breeze's
mentor would be. She got Saber! I stood there patiently, my body getting
tense as I waited for my turn.

Saber

Saber smiled at Breeze then walked up and and reached her nose out. She was happy and lucky that she got a caring cat like Breeze, however she was a little nervous, she was pretty good at fighting but she couldn't imagine atempting to teach it.
