Val had woken up with sore muscles today. She had trained quite a bit the day prior, which is what left an ache in her muscles. She ignored this though, having gotten used to waking to sore and achy muscles over the time she's been actively training. She had her breakfast thirty minutes after waking. It was enough of a filling to keep her stomach satisfied until noon, maybe a little after. She was now making her way towards the lake, needing a drink after eating. As she walked she thought about what she might do today.
Probably more training, she thought to herself. Though she would have to do lighter training today if she did. Even though her muscles were sore, she liked to push herself and keep herself prepared for when she would be needed.

Ekon laid with his head propped on his paws near a small stream he had found a few hours prior. His ears remained upright, flickering every once in a while when a bug got near them. His eyes opening slowly before blinking in an attempt to adjust his vision. The wolf raised his head, yawning. It took him a moment before he decided to stand, stretching his stiff muscles as he did. He made his way to the stream, deciding a drink would help get him out of his sleepy state.
He lapped a bit of water before listening to his surroundings and sniffing the air. The wolf perked slightly when he caught the scent of a squirrel. He then took a few steps and paused. Ekon focused, using the soft vibrations caused from his paws to "see" what was around him. When he sensed that the echo from his movement hit an animal he glanced towards the general area it was in. It was small, more than likely a rodent. He began walking towards it now, using the same method as before to "watch" the animal he found.
In a matter of minutes, he was close enough to possibly launch at the animal. He stilled, his body hidden by tall grass. Ekon listened again, this time hearing the animal chewing away at a food, probably a nut of some kind. It was then that he moved closer, getting as close as he could before pouncing. The animal, which turned out to be a squirrel, let out a noise and attempted to run from him. Ekon followed closely, running after it and snapping at it a few times and missing. It took only a few trial snaps for him to grab the creature with his jaws and to put it out of its misery.
