Sorrelpaw perked her ears when a cat suddenly spoke to her. She turned around to see Cherrystar and twitched ber whiskers. "No cat has seen her all morning, she wasn't in the nursery from what I heard." She explained briefly, her fluffy tail swaying from side to side as it usual did while she was thinking. "She didn't tell us that she was leaving camp either."

"She's probably out on a walk," Rosetail calls to her daughter. "I did when I was pregnant. Couldn't stand being in the nursery much longer, so I insisted."

cherrystar flicked her tail, unsure. "even if that's true, she wouldn't leave camp without telling at least on cat where she was going. lilystrike's not one to be secretive and mysterious."riverclan's leader looked around camp, her eyes landing on her deputy, riverflash. "riverflash! take sorrelpaw, tanglebelly, and," cherrystar paused, thinking. "amberflame, in case she's kitting or injured."

"I'm sure she's fine," Rosetail assures her daughter.

As Amberflame heard his name, he turned to the group of cats assembling. He nodded, moving towards the group, with a bundle of herbs in his jaws. Hopefully they weren't too late- Lilystrike had been gone for quite some time, and Amberflame hoped she hadn't had the kitting on her own.

Sorrelpaw couldn't even stand still when her name was called for the patrol. "Oh StarClan! A search party!" She mused optimistically. The little calico hopped on over to the Clans' entrance as she waited for the other cats to arrive. "No time to waste! There's a task at hand!" Sorrelpaw shouted, still clearly unable to push down her endless energy despite the fact that this was not a situation to be joyful about.

(Going out on a limb to say Silverfeather as well ;w;)

"Don't fall in the river," Rosetail calls, an amused and joking tone to her voice. They're RiverClan, so of course they all - except the kits - know how to swim. It's not that big of a deal.

Screechkit shook her head, shivering. She looked up - she'd woken up late, like she usually would if Lilystrike didn't wake her up. Lilystrike wasn't there? Screechkit shrugged, getting to her paws and shaking out her fur. Then, she padded out of the den, enough to hear words like "Lilystrike" and "Search party". Getting curious, she padded over to the nearest cat, Rosetail. 'Rosetail?' She chirps. 'What's happening?'

The sight should bother him more than it did. His mate, Lilystrike, lying prone on the bank of the river stone cold dead. Maybe it was the way the water had washed the blood from her fur that gave the sight its dream-like quality, or maybe it was the shock, but Coyotecall couldn't muster up any tears or a single call for help. "I'm in shock," the tom finally managed to tell himself, his mew hitching on the lump in his throat, "Lilystrike is dead and I'm in shock. Okay. Good Coyotecall, acceptance is the first stage. Stay calm, you can cry later- or not at all. That's fine too." It didn't feel fine. It was funny how quickly his so-often spoken words of comfort felt hollow once he was on the receiving end. "It's not fine but it will be. Stay calm." Ignoring the fish for which he had risen so early in the morning, the tom bent down and nuzzled his sodden mate softly, closing her eyes. It made him feel a bit better. He did not want a silent vigil, but he would not leave her side, help would have to come to them. "Cherrystar! Amberflame! Anycat!"
