The tom sighed. He made his way out of his den once more, carrying a stick with a small amount of mouse bile on it. He sat down in the sun next to the elder, carefully parting her fur to remove the ticks that were there. "Sorry for bothering you so much, Rosetail." The tom mewed, his ear flicking aimlessly. He sighed, removing the ticks.
He wanted to be the nice medicine cat, but his years had turned him cold.

Rosetail purrs in amusement. "Amberflame, believe me, you're not a bother. I've had kits; I'd know." The mouse is long gone by now and she's just enjoying the sunshine.

The tom purred in response to the elder treating him kindly. His attention shifted to the entrance of camp, and his tail curled. "Lilystrike has been out too long. She's too close to kitting to go out on a walk." The tom got to his paws, touching the tip of his tail to Rosetail's back. "Make sure to tell Ermineshine or me if you need any herbs. I need to go looking for Lilystrike. She could be kitting-" The tom huffed at the thought of that. How could I be so disrespectful? I should be looking for her! He darted to his den, picking up the bundle of herbs he had made in preparation for Lily's kitting. There were Borage Leaves, Raspberry Leaves, and a stick wrapped with Thyme. He prodded Ermineshine again, this time harder.
"Lilystrike could be kitting and you're sleeping through the day! It's time to get up!".

(Ermineshine? I'm picking at straws here)

cherrystar woke up with a start. looking outside, her eyes widened and she scrambled to her paw. "how could i have slept in?" she scolded herself, then continued to pad within the camp. scanning the nursery, a look of alarm came over her when she noticed lilystrike, riverclan's only queen, was gone. "where's lilystrike?" she meowed to the nearest cat, sorrelpaw.

Riverflash sat outside her den, worried. Was it Lilystrike's kitting? Should she go and see what's happening? No, there was a nice patch of sunlight where she was sitting, and she didn't want to move, so she called out, "Is everything okay?" from where she lay, hoping that there were no problems.
