Name: Hasen De Marco
Gender: Male
Why the muzzle thing?:
A deadly virus has spread throughout the world causing the infected to become mindless monsters who's only purpose is to kill those who have survived. Hasen was very young when the disease struck and had developed a somewhat immunity to the virus as he grew older. So jumping ahead a few years into the world of the infected, Hasen took upon himself the duty of protecting his mother, Gloria. Gloria had always been a very sickly person. Suffering from Osteoporosis which causes weak bones and hinders her ability to move around easily. One of Hansen's greatest fears is watching his mother lie down to sleep and never wake up as the mother he loved but instead as one of those monsters he so hated. Hansen once had a younger sister whom he loved with all his heart and soul. But at the Start she had turned and in order to protect their mother, Hansen had to do something that still haunts his nightmares. Every time he closes his eyes he sees flashes of blood on the walls of their old home and his ears are filled with his own sobbing mixed with the screams of his mother as he slaughtered his own sister. But, while he was struggling to do what needed to be done, she bit him. Hansen had thought that was it, he was fully prepared to kill himself to protect his mother but something happened. He knew he'd changed but he could still think, still feel. But the world looked different to him. Everything was brighter and clearer as if he'd been looking through foggy glass all his life. He took a shaky step forward and felt something warm and slick at his feet. He looked down at the limp body of his sister. Pain shot through his chest making him close his eyes and turn away. When he opened them again he could see his poor mother crouched on the floor before him shaking. She looked so fragile with his new eyes. As he took a step forward she let out a screech and scrambled away from him. "N-No! Get away!" Her lips wobbled as tears streamed down her filthy face. He took another step forward. "Mom? What's wrong? It's me." She shook her head, her frail body racked with strangled sobs. "My Hansen.. my sweet boy.... what have you become?" Hansen stared at her in confusion. He slowly backed away and walked over to a mirror looking into the blood stained glass. There, looking back at him was someone
something he did not know. His once raven black hair had become bone white and the blue eyes his mother had always loved we're now silver and slitted like a cats. As he gasped in shock ivory needles peaked out at him from behind his deathly blue lips. With a shaky finger he pulled back his lips further to see sharp canines perfect for shredding meat and crushing bone. A horrified yell he stumbled back, tripping over he body of his sister and crashing down in the pool of blood. His heart began racing, beating had against his chest with panic as he stared wide eyed at his hands covered in the blood of his sister. He heard a small squeak from behind him and whipped his head around to see his mother cowering in the corner, cowering from him. "Mom." He croaked, silver lining eyes that were not his own. She shook her head tears pouring from her own eyes. "Mom." His voice cracked as he reached for her. Her whole body was shaking, blood staining her own clothes as she crouched on the ground. "I'm still me, I'm still Hansen." Tears started to stream down Hansen's face as she slowly started to crawl towards him. "Hansen, my boy... my poor boy." She reached out to stroke his face. A strong feeling suddenly washed over him. All of his senses zeroed in on her hand as he felt overpowering hunger take over him. He could smell the blood pulsing under her skin. The sweet lull of her scent. He felt drawn to it. He screamed with sudden realization, pushing her away and scrambling back in a blind panic. "Stay away from me! I don't want to hurt you." Gloria stared at him with shock. He struggled to swollow some air "I-I don't know if I can control myself..." Her face softened into a smile as she stumbled toward him on weak legs and crouched down on her knees. She reached a gentle hand to cup his cheek then the other one. "You protected me from your sister. You are still you despite what has happened. You are still my sweet Hansen." She stroked the tears from his cheek and kissed his forehead. "We'll find a way to fix this..." Hansen gave her a weak smiled as he stared into her loving eyes. But his lips straightened into a stiff line "But I can't control myself. I don't want to hurt you. I'm afraid I'll slip and the hunger will take over. Even now it pains me to be close to you." He croaked, shaking his head. She smoothed his white hair soothingly, something she had always done when he was upset. "We can figure something out.."
