Galecloud picked at a skinny starling, having no appetite but still eating to keep her strength up. Her eyes shifted to each side, taking in every motion and rustle around her. At this point, she trusted no one. She didn't know what reason the killer had to keep her alive, other than to watch her suffer. Was it Beavertail, jealous of her apprenticehood crush on Lynxstar? Sneezecloud, desperate to prove himself? Or... was it neither? Was this all in her head? Look, there was Finchpelt coming into camp, a squirrel in his jaws, Chivekit and Brookkit dancing at his paws and begging for attention. There was Gingerstar, her head held high as she and Lynxfoot organized patrols. And Lilypool showing Breezefire how to apply mouse bile to Pikestreams ticks. Galecloud couldn't help but smile. Maybe she was going crazy, but.. crazy wasn't so bad.

Beavertail moved with purpose towards the leaders den. The scents around the den had become so muddled with the scents of the many cats that slept there during their short rein as leader. Beavertail was desperate to talk with his brother. With all the chaos the two had drifted further and further apart. It was time to rekindle.

I'm not in the round, but I have a question.
The guard can protect himself once a in round. If he doesn't pm the moderator before the murderer does, his powers have no effect. Let's say, the guard pms the moderator and says he wants to protect himself, but the murderer has already chosen his victim. Would the protection of himself, having no effect, count? Or could he protect himself one more time if he survives the night?
Sorry if the question has been asked already, I couldn't find an answer to it.

I don't think the protection of themselves would count, as the murderer has already messaged the host and so any effects from the guard are nullified. I personally would give the guard a second shot at it if they get their message in before the killer, but I think it may vary on hosts.

Sneezecloud paced around the leader's den. He didn't know what he was doing here. He didn't consider himself a leader. Leaders were supposed to help their clanmates, and what did he do? Let Dawncloud die? He could've saved him, he felt. Feeling dizzy, he decided to lay down, curling up on the den's floor. The den's scents wafted around him, the previous leader's scents still remaining. 'Gingerstar', he thought. 'Lynxstar, Antstar, Willowstar, Acorntail.' Each of them, either falsely accused or dead. Would the same happen to him? He was about to close his eyes when he thought he heard something coming from the entrance. He quickly whipped around and saw Beavertail, his brother, standing outside the den.

a special round is a round that features a unique set of roles or a theme. for example, a special round might be one that has two killers, or one where all cats have wings. things like that.
