tawnystar purred at the nervous looking molly. her maternal instinct kicked in, and she wanted to make this cat feel a bit more at ease. "oh, of course! blueclan is still growing. we're smaller than most clans right now, although soon we will be bigger. my kits will be apprentices soon!" she chirped, her eyes gleaming with pride.

foxfoot walked towards the deputies, his head high. after talking with snowpaw, he was finally excited for his sister. finding a mate was a joyous occasion, after all.
foxfoot- with the deputies - open

mallowpool sulked in the corner like the emo child he is
mallowpool- with the medicine cats - open

gingerstorm and stonefur were sitting together, just like last time. they chatted a bit, but both felt awkward and hoped someone would come rescue them from the other.

brindlenose started panting, her eyes wide and her ears back. she hated gatherings, every single time she came to one she had a panic attack. every. single. time. she closed her eyes and was shaking like a leaf, her expression one of panic.

shadefang was just watching, his cool yellow eyes taking everything in. he wasn't sure how to act at these things, but he was still going to try and make tawnystar proud.

snowpaw slumped into his paws, his loud voice carrying over the jumble of cats. "when is something exciting going to happen?"
snowpaw- with the apprentices - open

Spiderstar jumped up with the leaders. He listened to the others talk around him, but was too shy to go up to anyone.

Smokewhisker looked around the camp, then went down to sit not far from a big group of warriors. He looked around whether there was anyone he could talk to.

Whisperpaw and Mikepaw stayed close together, and went to the group of apprentices. When she heard the voice of an apprentice being bored, Whisperpaw quickly went that way. "hello, my name is Whisperpaw!" she smiled at the tom. Mikepaw had stayed a little further behind.

She listened with great interest, taking in what information was necessary. Did Fritillarystar feel bad for taking advantage of Tawnystar's great kindess? No, she was merely being cunning and doing what had to be done to ensure Sagestar's dreams were fulfilled and Moorclan grew with great power from the rot and decay of Tumbleclan. Fritillarystar smiled at Tawnystar as she spoke of her little ones. ''I'm sure they'll get great mentors!'' Fritillarystar murmured. ''Blueclan certainly sounds very interesting, how did such a clan come to be?''

tawnystar felt happiness bubble in her chest, it seemed like the new leader was easing up a bit. "well, i founded blueclan, we're named after the blueberries that are all over our territory. then our medicine cat came..." her voice tightened a bit as she said that. her eyes went straight to mallowpool, who gave her such a vicious glare she ducked her head. "a-ahm. then everyone else came along after that." she finished, smiling at the leader and praying she didn't catch the awkward exchange between her and mallowpool.

Fawnthroat, the medicine cat, walked to the group of medicine cats and sat down not far from them. She wanted to talk to someone, but had to find one that looked nice first.

"I'm Whisperpaw, from Swallowclan." the molly replied. She smiled. "you were bored? Me too."

Earlier, at camp
Heronstar had the whole of Gustclan gather in the courtyard area of their camp before setting off,
with most cats clearly excited to go. She could see the look of dread on Shellpaw's face, and knew how nervous and timid he had been at his only previous gathering.
"We didn't manage to get to the previous gathering, and we're probably going to be late, but let's make sure we get there. Argusheart, Myrtleclaw, Shellpaw, Droserapaw, I want you to stay here and guard camp. You have all already been to a gathering, and the clan knows of you." Guard from what? Well, if she was going to attack another clan (she wasn't), she would attack when she knew they were less guarded. When were they less guarded? Around gatherings. Not to mention that any other clans seeing all their apprentices just before they were trained was bound to get the more militaristic leaders thinking.
She wanted to make sure camp would stay well defended. She was only so concerned about it right now because she was aware of her coming kits- and that was another thing to try to keep hidden. "Maybe you can do some small-scale training, but make sure to stay on guard. Take it as practice on how to do vigils, or something. Boulderdash, you should stay here to look after Sparrowkit and Nettlekit. Kits- no wondering off, I don't want to come back to any nasty surprises. Myrtleclaw is in charge of camp while we're gone."
Heronstar saw Argusheart shoot him a look, as if questioning him already, but as long as she wasn't protesting, that was alright.

At the gathering
True to Gustclan form, they were quite late. Only one of the warriors accompanying them had ever been to a gathering, and the others were concerned enough that Lobeliafur had ceased her incessant nattering (luckily most of it was directed at the other warriors) for the few minutes as they were close to arriving.
Harrierpelt, as the least over-cautious (and proudly so) of the previous visitors to gatherings, stepped out first, tail high. He was a little tetchy that Boulderdash couldn't come, but at least it was helpful in keeping up the act that Myrtleclaw was really her mate. Heronstar stepped out close behind, then Chubtail. Pearstone hesitated for a second, before striding out, tail up and chin raised. For a cat who mocked arrogance, he sure knew how to act like he was amazing. Harrierpelt supposed he was just a good actor.
"Are you sure it's okay? Are they not going to attack us? If something bad were to occur, what would stop a bloodt-" Pearstone pretty much leaped back and hushed Moraine's worries with a few gentle words that Harrierpelt didn't catch, but he (unlike Pearstone) didn't miss the doe-eyed look she gave in response. The mollies all stuck closely together, clearly nervous, with Pearstone not wanting to wander far away in case they needed assurance of anything.
Chubtail and Heronstar touched noses in an almost sickeningly lovey-dovey way before parting to the leaders' and deputies' groups. Harrierpelt huffed slightly, and walked over to the other medicine cats.

the clan gathered and chose cats to go to the gathering very quickly and head off soon after. once the cats arrived after their small journey sedgeclan's representatives started to spread out and chat with cats from the other clans.

Shinestar led her cats into the clearing, and sighed when she realized that they were pretty late. "Just remember, make a good impression so they'll trust us next Gathering." The assembled cats nodded and dispersed when Shinestar headed off to the leaders.

''Blueberries? We don't get many of those.'' Fritillarystar replied, nodding her head calmly. She had Tawnystar under her paw and felt confident that the tabby leader would accept her as an ally. Following her line of sight, Fritillarystar spotted a glaring medicine cat. Fur bristling, the tortoiseshell pondered what'd occurred between the two to cause such a rift? Feigning concern, where she wouldn't have cared less, Fritillarystar turned to Tawnystar. ''Are you alright?''

It was always bizarre coming to a gathering. It didn't help having skipped the previous gathering entirely, but she was sure half these leaders were new. There was no possible way that Heronstar was going to remember who everyone was. At least there was an easy trick to it. If you keep being polite, and just pretend that you do actually know names, everyone assumes you do.

Harrierpelt's ears twitched in surprise at the voice of a molly addressing him, and turned around to look at her, trying is best to smoothly hide his shock. "Hello." He said, as a term of surprise as much as a greeting. "That's an unusual name. -Rush as in quick-thinking? He probably shouldn't be asking the exact meanings of other cats' names, he realised, as soon as he'd said it, so he decided to play it off as rhetorical. "I'm Harrierpelt, from Gustclan. Good to meet you." It wasn't his fault his tone didn't match his words; he always seemed to put up a sort of air of over-done politeness.
