I crouched down in the tall grass, ignoring the itching sensations from the insects that attacked me. I snatched my binoculars from my bag, and shook the ants of it. My eyes squinted through the about-to-crack lens, attempting to make out silhouettes beyond the towering fauna. If I stood up, I risked scaring away the whole colony birds presiding at the nesting grounds. I was forced to miss out out on such a phenomal view last year, because my partner had went to take a picture with his phone, but stupidly had left the volume on, scaring most of them closest away. This year, I went alone. I slowly crept forward, still poised. I had reached a rock which I could back up against. My head slowly gazed through the part in the grass created by the rock and was amazed. There were birds flying all about, never had I seen so many in my life time. I was in too much awe to sketch or write down anything in my open notebook. This really was a jackpot, my theory was proved correct that this was the biggest nesting place to be discovered yet. Despite the setback of last year's failure, I had come back to succeed this year! I carefully lifted up my camera, and clicked the shutter. I could imagine it now: The article I would write on the experience, jaw-dropping photos to compliment. And to think I was the one to discover it!
