long before she was born, her great grandmother had a deal
with a demon, giving her powerful magic, but at a price; it
was dark magic that would pass through to each female of
the bloodline, but within the next few generations, it would
cause a severe rift in the family, because the power would
consume one individual and she would go mad. g-gma took
it anyways. unfortunately for selina, the member to go truly
evil was her mother. when she was only 5 years old, she
went dark; in a rage, she killed selina's father, crippled one
of her own mother's arms, and left a deep scar on the back
of selina's neck before vanishing. she was then on raised by
her grandmother, who had taught herself light magic in
addition to the dark, to try and balance it out, and thus
taught selina the light magic as well.

the way of fairies is simple, at least in their home kingdom.
each fairy was ranked, given their status, due to their
powers.fire, water, earth, light, darkness, animals,
weather, frost. fairies that could only control one power
were considered the commoners, the normal people. then
you had those that could control two or three powers;
they were the upper class (lords, ladies, dukes, duchesses).
then were those with four or five powers; they were the
high council & the priests. then you had those who could
control all eight powers; the royal family. this is where
allura fit in. she was the heir to her father's throne. she
grew up having everything she had ever desired, & had all
of the best teachers in the kingdom to teach her control of
her powers. consider her a pompous princess, but with the
ability to reek utter havoc on anyone who displeases her.
