[size=85]Quietheart blinked in surprised and tilted her head slightly, wondering how he would consider her as deputy. Sure she tried to be a great warrior but she didn't think she was that good. "Huh.. I would have never known." She said quietly and thought about it for a moment. As honored as she would have been, he was right about it being hard for her. She would have to learn to be more vocal and involved with everyone, which was fine but Quietheart just wasn't usually physically loud unless there was great reason. However she wasn't actually shy but she decided not to correct the leader because it was just easier that way than explain to him. Quietheart focused her green gaze on Thornstar again and asked "What made you consider me as deputy? I mean..." She gave her chest a few quick, licked before continuing "Not that I doubt your decisions or ideas but.. I just don't understand." She finished awkwardly and pawed at the ground softly.

"Well, Your a loyal and respected Warrior in our clan, You might be quiet, but I can tell that you put your mind to everything. Your helpful and I know that you want the best for your Clanmates" He told her with a nod of his head at the end "You and Smokeycloud share alot in common, But he's very outgoing an not afraid to speak his mind, While your more Quiet and layed back." Thornstar smiled, but he didnt feel right speaking his mind, While the clan leader had always been a quite outgoing and carefree apprentice and still quite an outgoing warrior he was always afraid of saying the wrong thing.

The white she-cat shook her head "Yea, That" she looked around the camp for a moment "One day your just a kit, Your brother making fun of your eyes, and next thing you know you and your best friend end up killing him and scaring away your father" She said, addressing her and Badgerpaw in 3rd person to seem dramatic

Quietheart felt her ears heat up as he went and nodded. "Yeah but don't you think everyone wants what's best for everyone though? I mean isn't that part of being in the clan means? That you care about your fellow cats and want to help them when you can and do it the best way possible? Even if it costs your life? I mean that's what we pledge when we become warriors that we will defend the clan with our lives. Even as you rise in the ranks you still pledged it and the medicine cats purpose is to help the sick and the injured. I understand that sometimes there are selfish cats but at the end of the day, I think they care for someone too. So doesn't everyone have that quality about them? Not saying I don't appreciate the compliment or anything it's just I figured everyone is like that. In a way, it's one thing we should all have in common. I could be wrong though for all I know." She finished with a deep breath and felt stupid for going on a somewhat rant over a simple thing. The grey she-cat didn't know why she was being so awkward today. It seems like she can't say much of the right things but yet still wants to say something. This time it was just something she believed in but she didn't need to go off randomly. Quietheart dipped her head and said apologetically "Sorry, that was a little uncalled for."

Thornstar felt his face heat up, and his paw become heavy as stone "Your right." He sighed and looked Quietheart in the eyes "I have a confession" He mewed, his eyes darkening "I just miss Rainstar, I mean, Your correct and I was wrong" He shifted his gaze to his paws "Its not like that's a bad thing, But the clan is depending on my and I just dont know if I even know what to say." He felt a grumble rise in his thought, but he held it back "What if I hold a clan meeting and say something wrong, and despise one of my clanmates like they're not a loyal member of our society" His fur shook in the slight breeze from outside the den, making his short fur chilly "I feel like my leadership cannot add up to Rainstar's and that i'll always be compared to her" Thornstar sat still, calming himself once more. "Im sorry for blabbering on, Your right. All of our clanmates share the same skills and loyalty. They should not ever be compared to each other."

Finishing off his very late breakfast, Sparrowclaw disposed of any remaining scraps of bone or fur and stood up to stretch. He plopped back down and began to groom himself. His mind drifted off as he fell into the relaxing rhythm of grooming.

Snowpaw - Female - 11 moons - Location: Apprentice Den - Tag: Flamepaw

Snowpaw purred at his enthusiasm. "I'm kinda nervous now that Smokycloud's deputy honestly. I'm probably going to be a warrior soon if everything goes well but I don't want to make him look bad if I fail my assessment or do something dumb." Snowpaw glanced down and shuffled her front paws around.

Bearpaw - Male - 6 moons - Location: Apprentice Den - Tag: Spottedpaw

Bearpaw grasped the other half in his mouth. "O'ay. Wo', 'oo, th'ee!" he bit down on the amphibian on three hoping that Spottedpaw wouldn't back out. The little frog was mostly bones and organs but wasn't entirely unpleasant. The texture was unusual at first but after the skin it was mostly the same as other prey in his opinion. All in all Bearpaw wouldn't mind eating a larger frog if they all tasted similar.

Quietheart took a few steps forward and rested a grey tail on his shoulder. "No Thornstar, you aren't wrong. Don't let me make you question yourself because no you aren't Rainstar but you are still great and I can't think of a better leader we could have right now. Do you think Rainstar was always wise and not scared? I am sure she was like you when she first became leader, scared and unsure of yourself." The she-cat said gently and her green eyes stared into his. "No one is perfect and the clan is forgiving and won't hate you if you mess up. I know I won't hate you, Thornstar because I trust in you and your leadership and you as a cat. Not long ago you were like the rest of us and Rainstar..." The warrior's eyes watered a little remembering Rainstar before taking a deep breath. She cleared her throat and continued on "No one can replace Rainstar but doesn't mean you are going to live in her shadow and be compared every time you turn around. You are going to cast your own shadow and our future generations are going to miss you when you join Starclan. I am sure no two leaders are the same but I feel deep down here," Quietheart tapped her tail on her chest and continued "That you will be as great as Rainstar but we have to move on before we can start accepting anything. We are going to need you to pull everyone out of the shadow of grief and death but that doesn't mean you can greave and cry with us." She rested her tail on his side and finished "What I am trying to say is it's okay to make mistakes and I was wrong, not everyone is the same in loyalty or there wouldn't be cats, who are half clan cat after all. You are going to be a great leader and whenever you start to doubt yourself or need someone to talk to, I am here for you. I believe in you and I hope that is enough to make you have some confidence in yourself and your leadership." Quietheart touched her grey nose briefly to his ear before taking a few steps away, still watching him with her green gaze. The she-cat sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws and gave Thronstar a kind and caring smile.

Thornstar smiled and nodded at the grey she-cat "Thank you, Quietheart" He sighed and flung his paws infront of him, hooking the thrush in his claws and pulling it closer to him before taking a bite "How about after this, We take out another hunting patrol before the sun sets."

"Oceanpaw!" Cherrymoon called, her calming voice echoing into the Medicine Cat's Ears as she padded up near the small apprentice. The dark ginger she-cat dropped a vole near her paws "What are you doing out of Camp! Is Brambleleaf taking you on a tour? Because I dont see him!" She said, her mew more stern this time

"Sure. I don't see a problem with that at all." Quietheart said and watched him finally eat something. She turned her gaze away, not wanting to seem like she was staring him down while he ate. The warrior looked down at her grey paws and decided after the hunting patrol she would go take a walk and watch the sunset. It was a peaceful activity she liked to do more often than not although there was more purpose than that.

Quietheart felt awkward just sitting there but she didn't move but she turned her gaze to look out of the den. She was glad that Thornstar was eating to help keep his strength up and to stay healthy. The she-cat groomed a few spots on her fur that were ruffled and messed up so it was smooth and nice looking.
