Momo visibly recoiled, tears stinging her eyes. She had only meant it in a teasing way and now Honeyfur was lurching around, hissing like the very act of being around the bobtail was painful. She took a step forwards and then several back. "I'm sorry? I didn't mean to upset you like this? Are you- are you alright?" The she-cat bit her lip, wanting to give the medicine cat a comforting nuzzle, though admittedly for more reasons than just comfort, but judging that such an action might just make Honeyfur lash out again and this time, at her. So instead Momo just stood there at an awkward impasse with the pretty she-cat that made it so hard to look away.

Barkknot blushed but a small grin touched the edge of her red-rimmed eyes. It wasn't that she didn't know...just that she had forgotten. Gentle touches and teasing mew seemed so long ago and yet they were here. Right here in front of her. It was like having her family back. Barkknot's smile grew larger. "Okay. Yeah okay sounds good." She giggled, but a darker voice in her mind gave it's own grating laugh. "Um Cinderblaze? Could I tell you something?" The she-cat bit her lower lip, surprised at herself for daring to breach a certain subject when everything had been going so well. And yet she knew that the knot in her belly that tightened whenever her brother's mate got near would never disentangle until she was honest.

Weaselstorm had what he considered his first free day and he honestly had no idea what to do with it. It wasn't like he even wanted a day all to himself, but Shadepaw had practically shooed the small tom right out of their shared and outside of the camp itself, claiming that she didn't like to see Weaselstorm stuck inside the dimly lit den when there could be better things to do with his time such as taking a break from the constant job of being a medicine cat and enjoying the Newleaf sunshine.

His paws itched to do something productive, but he knew Shadepaw wouldn't appreciate him doing anything of the sort, so he stuck to walking up the SoulClan border and listening to the chirping of birds and the slight rustle of wind blowing through the trees. Weaselstorm's tail twitched somewhat irritably as he sat down, growing annoyed at himself for not being able to think of ways to keep himself occupied. As he fretted over what he could do, the sound of a twig snapping made his ears stand up and swivel towards the direction of the sound: somewhere in SoulClan territory itself.

He moved a little further back towards his side of the border in case a warrior didn't take the sight of a cat from another Clan so close to theirs, but the distinctive scent of herbs mingled with that of SoulClan made him pause. Weaselstorm knew without a doubt that it was just Hearthflame, the thought of the black medicine cat had made him form a rare smile that hardly anyone had ever seen him wear back at home. He decided spending time with his friend would be a fine way to pass the time and he had been meaning to try and catch the cat alone so they could catch up anyway, so Weaselstorm headed towards the border once again and meowed a greeting once Hearthflame was in sight. He frowned in concern as he noticed how distracted he looked, he hoped everything was okay.

Cinderblaze felt good now. Being able to make Barkknot smile really brightened up and destroyed those dark nightmares she had of the red soaked killer that Barkknot claimed to be. There was no way Barkknot could have done it... though with a dangerous 'friendship' with the twins, it wasn't impossible... "Something? Oh sure, yes! Tell me anything. I'll listen to anything you have to say. Because, I'm just that amazing~" She purred playfully, hoping that it kept Barkknot smiling. But she wasn't lying about listening to anything and everything the molly might want to say. She wanted to be a good friend for the molly in this camp of anger and resentment.. "Heh, anywho, what is it?"

Hearthflame almost didn't register the voice that hit his ears for a good heartbeat long, his yellow gaze continuing to stare over the Pineclan border as if he could make his friend simply appear from thin air. But when he did, he looked at Weaselstorm as if the tom were a fox with a dozen heads. "W-Weaselstorm? Oh.. hi. I was just thinking about you.. heh. I didn't think you'd actually appear." He said with a shy grin, closing the gap between them as he spoke. He honestly felt as if this was some sort of sign with the way that simply thinking of the tom made him appear. Ah but he didn't dwell on it, favoring the sight of Weaselstorm rather than the thought. "How have you been? And Shadepaw?" He asked softly and fondly as he thought of the Pineclan apprentice.

She could still back out now. She could still say 'oh nevermind, it doesn't matter' and they could go about their day normally. But Barkknot was terrified Cinderblaze would find out from somecat else and would hate her even more than she would if the she-cat came clean. Besides, her friend seemed so at ease and genuine as she spoke. Maybe Barkknot really could tell her anything. A small bird of hope fluttered in her chest as she began, "We-well when I-I, uh, when I, you know, k-k-kil- Anyways. I was at the border ho-hoping to see you. Asptail, he wanted me to tell you something." The dark tabby swallowed, and gave Cinderblaze a look that was a mix of regret and apology. "H-he won't see you anymore. He c-can't. He said he couldn't focus on his c-clan when you were first on his mind."

Barkknot seemed to hesitate, Cinderblaze noticed, but she just continued to smile patiently, simply showing her support of anything the shy molly may want to say. At the mere mention of Asptail, Cinderblaze felt her spirit lift in excitement and love, the emotion showing almost blindingly from her eyes. "You did mention you had come on... that day, to see me. So it was because of Asp huh? I wonder why he didn't just come himself, that silly grump. What is it?" She giggled fondly, tail taking on a slow wag. Though Barkknot didn't seem to take on her joyful demeanor. She looked.. sympathetic... And when she spoke, Cinder knew exactly why. Her happy swaying tail drooped until, eventually, it fell flat and still on the ground. "W-What do you mean? D-Did he get hurt and won't visit me while recovering? I-Is that it? Oh please me that's it?" She asked, her voice breaking in a few places as she spoke. Surely that's all it was, or someone found out about them and he's confined himself in camp to keep her from trouble. Barkknot couldn't mean the worst can she?

Well you've done it now Barkknot! So much for not hurting anyone. Stupid. Did you think claws were your only weapons? The tabby took a step forwards to comfort Cinderblaze but, then realizing she might not be so fond of the messanger, shuffled backwards awkwardly. "N-no but someone else d-did. H-he blames himself." And possibly you. No. she couldn't say that. "For-forbidden romances are forbidden for a re-reason." Hypocrite. "H-he couldn't tell you because he loves you. That's why he c-c-c- Oh Cinderblaze I'm so sorry."

Cinderblaze was so confused. Someone getting hurt and needing attention was understandable. But so much so that Asptail can't see her anymore. That... that was absurd... unless. "D-Does he find me to be a burden? I-Is that it?" She asked, eyes stinging with tears she fought to hold back, a slight hiss in her sad tone. She knew it was unfair to get upset at Barkknot for she was simply doing her brother's dirty work. But she couldn't help it.. "It is isn't it? Ha.. and here I was carrying a love so strong it could move this mountain. Oh man... I named a kit in honor of him and now she's the subject of hatred. Dear Starclan I must look pathetic.." She laughed a sad broken laugh. Her eyes lost all light, her ears flattened against her head and her gaze became glued to the ground.
"My my, Cinderblaze, you don't look so good. Did the monster hurt you?" Nettlefoot's voice sounded, making Cinderblaze tense up as the molly made her way over. Thistlethorn was coming too, looking curiously between the two mollies who appeared deep in conversation. It made her wonder about the relationship between the two. "Ah, who cares. If you're here Cinderblaze, then who's watching the kits? Ah maybe I should go pay them a visit hmm?" She purred with a smirk, the subliminal message ringing clear in queen's ears. "N-No... I was just leaving.." She mewed quickly, leaving without a single glance at the three as she dragged herself to her paws and to the nursery.

"N-no Cinderblaze, please!" Barkknot watched her friend go, staring hopelessly after her. She wanted to tell her that it wasn't the case at all. To make her smile again. But what could she say? She didn't know Asptail's mind. For a minute Barkknot cursed her brother. He was the reason she was in this mess. The she-cat's glare darkened for a moment, barely bothering to suppress the swirling thoughts directed at her littermate, but then she glanced back at Nettlefoot and Thistlethorn and her heart lightened. "Nettlefoot! Thistlethorn!" she purred tiredly. Part of her worried how much they had heard of her conversation with Cinderblaze, but she trusted the two she-cats. They surely wouldn't hurt the queen. Not like she had.

The Shade Sisters watched Cinderblaze disappear into the nursery, Nettlefoot holding a smug smirk while Thistlethorn shifted a slightly suspicious gaze between the queen and the prisoner. But they both graced Barkknot with smile, actually pretty happy that their monster was happy to see them. "Seems like you've had a good morning, making queens cry." Nettlefoot chuckled. "Yes. It makes me wonder just what was said between you two. Thistlethorn added with a piercing gaze shadowing the smile she still held. She was curious, deeply curious about the two and their relationship, whether Cinderblaze was trying to feed Barkknot stories about their threat on her family's life. "Ah, who cares Thistle? Our sweet murderer has been such a good molly. How 'bout we take you on that walk like I promised?" Nettlefoot asked grinning from ear to ear. She was excited to see if Barkknot might attract badgers or not. It was mean and she knew it but curiosity killed other cats in her book.

"I didn't mean to make her cry," Barkknot whimpered, tears prickling in her eyes. But her Thoughts taunted her still for crying the other day, and she kept them down. Why did she deserve to feel bad? "I just-" she broke off again wondering just how much the sisters had heard. And just how much she should say. But when Nettlefoot made good on her promise, her worries about Cinderblaze and secrets were forced down. It would be rude to be anything less than utterly excited about the treat, which the pair had certainly gone out of their way for. "A walk?" she gasped, leaping to her paws, wincing, and then remembering to favor her right. "Yes! Yes please!" The she-cat limped a little close to Nettlefoot, staring up with shining eyes at the larger warrior. Eager purrs of gratitude threatened to knock the waif over and reminded her just how pathetically ready she was to forget about Cinderblaze to feel the sun on her back again. "Thank you. Thank you so much. I know it must have been really hard to convince Jaystar because she hates me and also because of badgers. Badgers...we won't run into them?" Worry began to creep into Barkknot's mew but she laughed it away. "Sorry. I sound ungrateful. I trust you. I'd trust you with my life. I mean, well just thank you. I don't say it enough."
