stand by for exile, i asked chatzy to break the tie and give a random answer

brairthorn curled her tail around her plump
belly, swollen with kits. like always, it was quiet. she scrunched up
her nose. this clan had changed so much during the past moons.
we'll there''s a murderer running around, she told herself.
the entire clan was on edge. especially shellstreak and sepiapads.
the queen purred quietly to herself. it was sweet watching her
sister and mate stumble over their pawsteps. shellstreak was
always so kind to her, making sure she didn't work to much
and brought her prey every morn. with a huff, brairthorn
lifted herself up. in a matter of seconds, she toppled over
and onto her haunches. an intense spurt of pain shot through
her stomach. she let out a weak, feeble yowl. shadows danced
across her vision as everything went black.

there was a loud cluster of paw steps, making the queen
blink. four kits stirred around her belly, fast asleep. her
ears twitched, until three cats stood
at the nursery entrance. foxstar, rosetail, and breezefire.
"brairthorn," foxstar started. sadness rolled off her tongue
and melted into her words. "you must leave. the clan has spoken
you are no longer a member of riverclan."
"i don't understand..." the queen searched for words. what? she'd
just had her kits. the clan couldn't exile her now! with
a bit off difficulty, she forced herself up. "alright,"
she snapped. "you want me to go? well i'm
going and i'm never coming back!" her belly felt week,
making her legs wobble.
"we can help carry your kits to the bo-"
"i can carry them myself," she growled. one by one
the queen picked up her kits. the other three cats
followed her until all four of her kits were out of
camp.
"why?" rosetail murmured. "why did you kill them?"
briarthorn said nothing, only swishing her tail. they
wouldn't believe her, no matter what she said. without
any further comment, she left the clan she had lived
in all her life.

i'm sorry i never got to say goodbye, shellstreak.

a queen and her kits are gone. congratulations riverclan,
you've got the wrong cat again. better hurry up!

shellstreak blinked, watching
the clan hesitantly creep out from their dens. his mind whirled with
emotions, causing his eyes to flutter open and close as he tried to
comprehend this twisted reality.
brairthorn...
outkits...
all of them were gone, after all he'd done to protect them. he could
recall sleepless nights right next to her, always offering to bring
her heap fulls of prey just to refrain from his mate leaving the dead.
before he knew it, memories flooded into his head, infecting his
brain and trickling down in a painful stream towards his heart. life
just wasn't fair. the tom whimpered lightly, remembering the panicked
dash across the thunderpath, rosetail speaking in a hushed voice with
the windclan medicine cat, and other mad run across the thunderpath.
all of that was for brairthorn and her kits to survive. now what was it
all for? surely they wouldn't last a day? and to top all of that, her
exile took place while he was snoring away.
you could have helped her! his mind screeched, clawing at
his already battered heart. you could have made the clan see
reason, or you could have gone with her!
in a world of "next times" it was only "you could have." shellstreak
collapsed onto his side, eyes half-closed. her couldn't go back in
time and mix this horrible mistake. that was simply impossible.
no, all he could do was look forward.
expect he couldn't.
he couldn't forget about those lovely eyes and dashing fur. the tom
scratched angrily on the ground. it would never, ever, be fair. his
ears twitched as his mind pushed the memories away and he tried
to think. how could he met her again? why, the warrior would do
anything to see his mate again. but how? he stamped his paw on
the ground, forcing himself to stand up. it was then he noticed
the dark shadow of a cat.
"shellstreak," they purred with a teasing voice.
"i said i didn't want anyone talking to me."
"but i can help you. i know where brairthorn went, i can lead you
to her."
"you can?" the tom whispered excitedly.
"yes, follow me and stay quiet. i've seen the kits, they are very
lovely."

shellstreak was unsure as the cat lead him through the underbrush.
"are you sure this is right way?"
"yup," they smiled, hurrying forward. before the tom could notice,
they were gone.
"hey, where'd you?"
it was quick and silent. shellstreak hadn't even felt it. in mere seconds
he was one the floor with a trickle of blood underneath his neck. black
dots flicked and he watched the cat. no, the murderer. despite all this,
he forced a smile.

"tell brairthorn and the kits i love them."

a loyal warrior has been slain. riverclan! you need to act fast!

Sepiapads lashed her tail, glaring at the ground in front of her paws. It wasn't fair. How could anyone blame her sweet, gullible, kind sister? Her eyes drifted to the fresh kill pile, but the scar-faced shecat wasn't hungry. She flicked her ears towards the leader's den, where her mother had slept soundly the night before. The mother who condoned the exiling of a queen with newborn kits. She is no mother of mine. Unintentionally, Sepiapads' claws slid out from her soft paws. A soft growl rose in the shecat's throat. She didn't want to sheath them; the anger at her mother and those who exiled the only cat she loved threatened to overboil within her and snap what was left of the already mentally-fragile shecat.

Padding out of the den slowly Shadowfeather noticed quite a few of her clanmates had already got up. Ears twitching the she-cat could hear the rumble coming from Sepiapads "Are you alright?.." padding closer without thinking she showed worry.

Sepiapads snapped her head around to face Shadowfeather, her gaze narrowing. She didn't try to stop it. She let her go. The russet-brown tabby bared her fangs, her hackles beginning to raise at the sight of the black shecat. It's her fault that your sister is as good as dead. The only one you loved. The only one worth living for. She's gone because of her. Her lip twitched.
But she had no choice. Someone had to go. But not Briarthorn! She had kits- they've been condemned to death! She'll never survive, and it is because they did nothing. A yowl ripped itself from Sepiapads' jaws, her muscles coiling beneath her pelt before the shecat sprang at Shadowfeather, her eyes blazing. "This is all your fault!"
