"I don't know," Leopard murmured. "I can't recall then why I decided to be nice to you. Must've just been an instinct."

"I guess so." Leopard touched her nose to Raven's cheek before laying her head back down on his shoulder. "Do you think the Clan cats might try to take over this territory?"

"You'd better. If they decided to attack right now that wouldn't be very good for the both of us," Leopard meowed with a wistful glance at her belly.

She nodded, "I understand that, but I guess I'm not allowed to be kind to a friend without it being seen as flirting." She meowed a trace of bitterness in her voice. She had only been trying to be nice to Owltuft.

Leopard drew her tongue over Raven's ear. "Everything will be fine, Raven."

She didn't reply, "I should go." She finally meowed. "Might as well go hunting before leaf-bare." She meowed flatly. Rosepaw turned and padded away her tail swishing behind her.

Greyfoot sighed as he padded over and sat down beside his former apprentice. "How are you doing?" he asked, gently stroking his tail along her spine. He knew that Mapleheart was stressed, not being able to be with her kits.
