Shadowfeather's screaming is what wakes Rosetail, and her head jerks up. "Huh?"
She realizes the screaming is from outside, so she hops to her paws and runs out, seeing Shadowfeather. "Shadowfeather, what'-" Her urgent mew is cut off as she sees Thornstorm herself. "Oh." Her voice is small.

Shadowfeather was terrified, death after death just kept happening and the clan had apparently failed once again. Voice raw from the scream she huddled into Rosetail and sobbed.

Rosetail comfortingly puts her tail on Shadowfeather's back, though her gaze stays on Thornstorm.
They're being picked off one by one.

Sepiapads was about to call back to her sister, but then realized the death was probably harsher on Briarthorn than she realized. Unfortunately, Sepiapads couldn't say the same for herself. Thornstorm had never been close to her, so Sepiapads felt... nothing for the tom. The only reason she mourned was because of the pain it caused her sister. But she had to keep up her facade of sweetness. She couldn't let them know how little she cared. The shecat lowered her head, allowing moisture to overflow and spill onto the ground.

Breezefire felt more desperate than she had ever felt. Why did the murderer have to be so cruel? At least her leader wasn't dead yet, she thought."may... may I join your mourning?" She asked Shadowfeather in her naturally soft voice.

Shellstreak padded from his den, freezing when his gaze fell on the dead body of Thornstorm. Shuddering, he tore his gaze from the tom and padded to the nursery, fur bristling as he padded past. Glancing around, seeing Shadowfeather wailing her greif, Rosetail trying to comfort her, and Sepiapads mourning made him flinch, eyes darkening. The entire clan was gripped with fear and exiling innocent cats was taking a toll on the clan. Swallowing nervously, Shellstreak padded into the nursery to find Briarthorn curled in a corner, shaking. Realizing he could say would comfort the queen, Shellstreak simply curled up around her. It was all he could do to comfort his mate.

Rosetail sits with a thump. No one is safe. No one. She closes her eyes and works to compose herself. Shadowfeather needs comfort, and she can't do that if she isn't concentrating. She opens her eyes and licks Shadowfeather's ear. "Come on," she murmurs, nudging her to a sunlit patch not far away. "Let's share tongues, alright?"
