Birchnose immediately made her way to where the deputies were and saw a tom purring loudly. She padded up to him and sat next to him. "Hi," she said. "Everything seems to be going well for you, I see?"

Crowcloud chuckled. "Worrying does tend to keep one up." Mosspelt's compliment made him feel warm. Of course he knew that his clan--especially Honeystar, Duckpelt, and Acornstream--appreciated him but it was nice to get the compliment verbally. "Well," he said, "you'll get there too. I'm sure that your clan appreciates all that you do for them!"

Duckpelt spotted Bumblebelly's fearful expression, and her ears moved backwords. "Sorry," she said. "Just...you know. Sickness isn't a good thing for anyone." She wasn't upset at anyone, but prayed that her kits would always be healthy. It seemed like nothing short of a miracle that they had gotten through leafbare without anyone getting sick.

Meanwhile, Acornstream was listening to Ashenstorm. "Yeah, we barely get a break especially now that our kits are all apprentices. And it seems like no matter how many clanmates you have, there's always work for one to do! The other day, I had returned from a patrol...only to find that Birchnose wanted me and Applenose to help Palefur and Egretstep clean out the warriors' den."

"It's good to meet you too!" replied Snowfoot. "Is this your first Gathering? It's mine, and I didn't realize how many clans there are!"

"Well, harder," Applenose amended. "Sure, I've done some patrols and hunted--not practice but the real thing--on occasion, but now it's a patrol every day, hunting patrol one day, border patrol the next." To Mistpaw, he said, "Yeah. I sat vigil the first night I was a warrior, and then got first picks of freshkill the next day. Kind of like a celebration of my completing my training."

After separating from their parents, Boulderpaw practically tugged her sister to where a young tom was sitting, clearly bored.

"Let's go talk to him!" said Boulderpaw eagerly.

"Sure," said Dustpaw in a sarcastic monotone. "He seems really nice." To her, the tom seemed surly and not at all the kind of person she'd like to meet, but she went along with her sister simply because it was easier than arguing. Let Boulderpaw win this argument; Dustpaw was sure that the tom wouldn't want to talk. Or maybe she'd be wrong and pleasantly surprised. That happened on occasion.

"Hi!" Boulderpaw said once they reached him. "I'm Boulderpaw and this is my sister, Dustpaw. We're from Forestclan. Where are you from?"

Appleheart's fur grew hot when she gave him a slight nuzzle and he quickly looked down at his paws in embarrassment, trying not to smile. This was replaced by a look of surprise and a bit of concern shortly after. "What? What do you mean? What happened? Is everything okay? Do you need any help?"

"Yes, thank you," she mewed. "This leaf-bare wasn't so bad, I guess. An apprentice caught a cold in the last one. How has SedgeClan been doing during this time?"

"I-I'm fine, I wasn't s-scared..." Cinderdawn mewed quietly. Great StarClan, he couldn't imagine what his mother and sister would think of him right now, so shy and awkward. "Prey is good, I guess. It is leaf-bare though.... H-how is EclipseClan? - that's your Clan, right? EclipseC-Clan?"

"Uh, I believe this is my second Gathering. Never got the chance to talk to anyone before, though. I was only an apprentice," he explained. "What's ForestClan like? I haven't heard of it."

"Ah, this is my third Gathering. Don't worry, it's really fun when you get used to the crowd!" Heatherpond mewed cheerfully. "How is life in BriarClan?"

"And this is the Gathering place!" Russetpaw announced to her sister Brightpaw, who hadn't been to a Gathering before. The calico's eyes widened at the sight of so many cats in one place. "I-it's so crowded here..." she whimpered quietly. Russetpaw laughed, "Oh, you'll get used to it. Come on, we're gonna have so much fun!" She charged off into the crowd, leaving her sister with no choice but to follow her.

Jinxstar, Willowbolt, and Velvetrabbit trotted into the gathering. They were late, but he was just glad that he remembered this time. He walked over to the rest of the leaders and nodded his greeting.

Willowbolt went over to the other deputies and waited to see what would happen.

Velvetrabbit searched frantically for Rowanpelt.

foxstar flinched at morningstar's last sentence. "you can say it that way yes. it was stonestar who told me to start mapleclan in a dream. did you know him?" stonestar had lived to be quite old, so there were chances he had known this leader.

"she's called tigerpaw. she arrived in mapleclan when she had 7 moons," smokeleaf paused to look around at the cats around him, doveflight also trying to find the familiar bengal pelt of the apprentice, "she's around here somewhere with my sister."

littlestep immediately sat down in a corner of the gathering place, not wanting to have to socialize like she did last time. she kept a small smile on her face, but inside, she was fuming. tigerpaw sat quietly beside her mentor, looking at all the gathered cats in the clearing.

the clan gathered and chose cats to go to the gathering very quickly and head off soon after. the cats chosen to go were of course willowstar, brackenheart and maplewhisker and for the warriors they brought eaglestrom and fluffyberry. once the cats arrived after their small journey sedgeclan's representatives started to spread out and chat with cats from the other clans.

"do know of a tigerpaw?" maplewhisker asked fluffyberry. she nodded and whispered something so quiet only he could hear. "she asked to speak with her. do you know where tigerpaw is?" maplewhisker told the other two cats.

eaglestorm walked over to another tom who looked as if he was also a warrior. eaglestorm tried to start conversation. "hello, im eaglestorm of sedgeclan. who are you?" he introduced himself.

Rowanpelt nodded his head at Willowbolt in greeting as she seated herself with the rest of the deputies, he was initially surprised to see her, but then he remember how Velvetrabbit mentioned that JinxClan would be attending the next Gathering they were able to. The PineClan deputy felt a smile form on his face as he thought about his mate, but he quickly made himself look neutral before any cat could catch his lovesick expression. He did sneak a couple of curious glances at the crowd for any sign of Velvetrabbit though, and his heart quickened as he spotted his mate in the crowd and politely excused himself to go and see her.

"Hello there." He meowed fondly once he was close enough to Velvetrabbit, trying to make himself look as nonchalant as possible since he was around so many cats.

"I suppose you'll find out tonight." Mintstar meowed to the TumbleClan leader, referring to when all the Clan leaders would announce the recent going-ons in their Clans. She had to admit she was quite curious in what Swanstar had to say, and if there would be any kind of memorial for Sagestar, but it seemed pushy to ask that out loud.

Aspenheart's heart clenched to hear Rosefur chuckle and smile at him again as he knew he was the reason for her acting so bright. He remembered the day they had last spoken, the heavy rains had suited his friend's saddened mood as she told him how her Clan had to leave and how she might never see him again. It hurt his heart too, knowing there was a possibility that he would lose his first friend forever, which he reasoned was why he falsely proclaimed he loved her. The tom never had anyone to talk to in PineClan, he soiled his reputation back when he was an apprentice for his brusque behavior towards everyone, and no one would talk to him without feeling awkward about it.

Rosefur was the first cat to truly feel comfortable around him, and he relished in finally having a friend even though they were from different Clans. But it did hurt him to lie, and even now he struggled to think about how to confess about it. "I missed you too." Aspenheart meowed softly, this time it was truth as he really did miss his friend. "And is everything alright in TumbleClan?" He asked, curious about what happened in the moons she had been gone. It must not have been as bad as he thought it was, seeing as she acted the way she used to before her Clan left.

Willowbolt noted how Rowanpelt nodded, then excused himself to go talk to Velvetrabbit. She thought that slightly odd, since she had never seen the two interact before, but then shrugged it off, figuring that she probably just missed it.

Velvetrabbit smiled when she saw him, glad that he was able to slip away, "I have something to tell you." she said quietly, looking at the other cats cautiously.

Jinxstar approached Minstar, Squirrelstar, and Swanstar with a cautious look on his face, "Where is Sagestar?"

Cloudstar nodded "It has been an easy leaf bare, no one go sick and I made sure they all took it easy." It was a lie though. He was sick just recently and had barely gotten over it. Luckily though no other cats had been sick, even if he did push them out into the snow storms to hunt or patrol the borders. Good thing he made them otherwise there would have been less cats in the clan.

With a quick glance around Cloudstar saw that there was a bunch of leaders gathered and a few had just shown up, to him it was a perfect time to start the announcements "Lets get this started.." he murmured quietly to Poppystar before turning away from her and taking a few steps towards the ledge. He inhaled deeply before making the first announcement "As some of you know I am Cloudstar. leader of the newly formed Briarclan. This has not been our first gathering however and I would like to report that Briarclan has grown twice its size since the last gathering. Though it was a harsh leaf bare it was so bad for my clan and we still have thrived. We are even expecting litters of kittens in new leaf. I would also like to inform that Briarclan has made an alliance with Hickoryclan, we share our northern and southern borders." After addressing the now quieting crowd he turned away and flicked his tail, waiting for the next leader to take their turn.

Bouldershade quieted as he heard his leader, Cloudstar, start the announcements. This meant that the gathering is close to ending and the clans will all go home afterwards, the tom wondered if they would wait for every clan to go unlike last time when they left early.

"Just make sure you watch her, you don't want her to get to exhausted." Archpool warned Mosspelt. After he had said that he heard Cloudstar start announcing "That fool, I told him to take it easy and what does he do? He uses a lot of energy to talk over everyone in the entire clearing." Archpool muttered with a growl. "You think losing a life recently would make him see this, but does he? no." he ranted, not even the slightest bit worried of who over hears him as he grumbled aloud.

"So far it has been great. Cloudstar can be a bit intimidating but he is just bossy." Fawnwillow chuckled. It felt weird to talk about her leader like this but she had thought it many times. "We also have a cat that loves to talk non-stop." She referred to Owldust, the though molly liked her fellow warrior she did find her quiet tiresome.

Just then she heard Cloudstar address the crowd and Fawnwillow grew quieter, the gathering must almost be over now.

"hello cats of all clans! im willowstar, leader of sedgeclan. this is our second gathering and we're excited to get to know the other clans. i'd like to announce that our queen stormdapple's litter of kits are expected very soon and we're hoping for strong and healthy kits. we have plenty of prey and our clan is all healthy and strong." the sedgeclan leader announced before stepping back. she flicked her tail signaling for the next leader to speak.

Jinxstar noted that the other clans had started their announements and decided to take his turn while he had the chance.

"Hello, fellow clans." Jinxstar announced when it was his turn, "I am sorry that I am so late, and I am sorry that Jinxclan has been absent for so long.
With all the fighting and warring that was going on, I felt it was best to seclude my clan to try to keep them safe. Now that things had settled down, I feel that we should rejoin the rest of the forest again. Jinxclan, although quiet, has not been rejected by Starclan. We have grown with new warriors that have joined us and with our own cats having families of their own. We have many cats, and many apprentices, as well as new kits and a second litter on the way."

Jinxstar stepped back, letting another leader go after him. Willowbolt beamed up at him as she tried to locate Velvetrabbit to make their leave.
