@ame My training system is fairly simple. If you're a warrior, your learn the three essential skills of hunting, fighting, and climbing, and have a chance to earn between one to three more skills (depending on the season). You can roll double of any skill, which would determine your warrior name. Then, you go to the Moonpool and if you pass the assessments (not passing will be extremely rare and reserved for troublemakers who have no business in being a warrior yet), you become a warrior. If you're a medicine cat, you first start out as a warrior apprentice, learn the three basic skills, switch, and then spend six more moons in training. This allows you to become good at the basic skills, slightly rarer skills (ex: tracking, fishing), and healing. Of course, if you roll double for a skill, then that helps determine your name too. Below is an example of the differences between four apprentices of mine (not canon...maybe):
Adderpaw: hunting, fighting, climbing, fishing, swimming --> Adderstream (excells at fishing/swimming)
Barleypaw: hunting (2), fighting (2), climbing --> Barleyfang (excells at hunting/fighting)
Boulderpaw: hunting, fighting (2), climbing, tracking --> Boulderclaw (excells at fighting)
Dustpaw: hunting (2), fighting, climbing, tracking, healing (3) --> Dustleaf (excells at healing)
